FYI, I'm back from vacation. However, when we got in, we found that we had a leak upstairs that resulted in a fair amount of water damage to an upstairs bathroom and our downstairs living room ceiling and carpet. So I've been dealing with that. Apologies if I'm slow to catch up.

This book seems to be the one that is poorly designed in the AP. They wanted a mass combat book. If you're not interested in mass combat too bad!
The other encounter areas are not mass combat sites and contain information and loot if you're interested?
Are there any other communities under Irovetti's thumb that we might want to liberate or avenge? Most of the rest of the spots on the map look like they are either military camps or are completely unrelated to stopping Irovetti.
J, K, L & O are the army camps. The others are areas of interest.
Some are just landmarks and can be ignored. I will say it is worth checking out D, F & H for information and loot.
One of the major problems with Kingmaker is they dropped hints in the 1st book then nothing until this one. Playing this AP in PBP means the 1st book was years ago.
Now you'll find information on what is happening in the shadows to cause your kingdom so much trouble.

Waffles flies closer to the abbey and can see a man standing guard atop the partially collapsed bell tower. He can see anyone coming up the hill.
Waffles can try casting sleep on the guard, but the DC is only 14. Plus, someone inside might notice the guard fall to the ground.
NK could use dimension door to get us close.

Tessara could try to get close with hidden presence (DC 16) and then use suggestion (also DC 16), if you think that might be worth a shot.
Actually, now that I think on it, I'm not sure how those two might interact. Hidden presence is psychic invisibility, the subject's brain literally doesn't register that you are there, so maybe they wouldn't hear the suggestion? Or maybe they'd hear it but just not consciously register it.
Let's send them both. Tessara can use her suggestion, and Waffles can use sleep as a backup. If Tessara sends a message, or if Waffles casts flare, or if we can tell there's trouble, NK can use dimension door.
What suggestion would you... uh... suggest that she use? Maybe have the guard wander off his post to some place that we can ambush him quietly?
How about that the approaching party is no threat, and that they should just wait silently while we approach.

Sorry, more teething troubles at my new residence. Kept me going quietly crazy most of the day as my internet provider thought I only wanted a connection for two weeks and then cut me off?
I eventually got through to them that A. I was me & B. I wanted my internet back!
