Sad to hear that Fren, I hope things get better for you soon.

Fren is welcome back when real life settles down. Thanks for being straight up with us, I appreciate it.
I've sent out notices to the short-listed people. If they aren't willing to join now, do you want me to recruit a cleric or just play as is and use the Paladin as your healer when the time comes?
I will GMPC Fren in your upcoming combat vs. Kessel.
| Kern Therensgard |
My preference would be for a cleric, but I won't be too upset if one doesn't appear....we'll just have to deal with it (and order up a Cure Light Wounds wand when we have the cash :) )

I'm fine with either though I agree a full divine caster would be mighty useful. If there isn't I'm fine.

Darvan will volunteer for first watch. He intends to sit about 20ft outside of camp and cover himself with some leaves. He also makes sure that Fren will be awake at all times when Spike Tail is.
Stealth: 1d20 + 8 + 20 ⇒ (13) + 8 + 20 = 41
Perception: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (2) + 4 = 6
+20?? How did you get that? Is there something the slayer gives? I would like to have that stealth bonus....
| Darvan Jullies |
When you're not moving you get a +20 to stealth.
Edit: I actually just went to double check that, and I'm not so sure it carried over to Pathfinder, I might be wrong on that.
Brok Thunderhams
|
I only found a reference to that but for invisible creatureshere
| Darvan Jullies |
Yeah, when I played a few years ago it was "if you're not moving at all you get a +20, if you're invisible you get a +20, both of these circumstances stack."
Still, you'd think there is some kind of bonus for not moving.

That sounds like the 3.5 rules. Used to love it for snipers.

-Pops into metaphysical existence in a poof of smoke. Cus. Why not?-
Hello folks. P33J has apparently chosen me to replace the Dwarf Cleric. I'm Jake, I live in the Mid-West, where its currently freezing, occasionally colder than the N and S poles. This'll be one of my first PBPs for Pathfinder, been trying to get into some for a while and at last, being on the shortlist pays off.
Sadly, not quite as useful as a Cleric. I'm fond of Faore, so I'd love to play her, which P33J is fine with, but I can pull out another character if you guys feel it necessary. I try to roll with the flow, unlike Faore~
| AlgaeNymph |
The urban druid would be my PC, based loosely on Yuuka Kazami. Still trying to find just the right avatar picture, though.
And don't worry about lacking support, druids have heals and buffs too.
| Darvan Jullies |
Well, that got us crowded rather quickly. And oh joy, another paladin! >.>
Welcome guys, glad to have some more healers on board. Although looking at the current situation there's a pretty good chance I might go back to the drawing board soon.
Brok Thunderhams

Welcome all. Like Darvan said, I might need to go back to updating my char with 2 paladins. :P
| Faore |
Well, I'm always ready to distract a Paladin with some lovely but rustic architecture.
TWO on the otherhand? I might wanna dip into assassin...
More so curious on how you're gonna introduce us folks.
Brok Thunderhams
|
lol Evil? I didn't notice that.
| Darvan Jullies |
Not to tell the wizard how to do his job, but wouldn't either the fighter or the paladin benefit more from being enlarged?
Brok Thunderhams
|
Enlarge might get him shot at more often since It's a full round action to cast. I'm not doing too well in the shooting department too.
On the bright side, Darvan slew the lady boss. The not so bright side has the others screaming for his blood.
Also is Darvan leading the bandits away from the party by himself into the forest?
| Darvan Jullies |
I don't want to add getting shot at on top of being outnumbered by melee. I'd rather face three men by myself then face three men and have two archers firing on me.
Brok Thunderhams
|
Makes sense. You are better in melee than I am. Archers would make life difficult.....
1 archer down..
| Kern Therensgard |
It's a cost-benefit analysis. Kyra is already fighting defensively...enlarge would up her damage (really not needed) but damage her AC.
Brok is currently using a bow, Enlarge Person would have no benefit whatsoever...and Darvan is haring off far across the battlefield.
Kern loses a bit of AC (he's in good shape due to other spells), and gains damage, reach and mobility, all of which will benefit him. At first level, there are limited spell options, so expect to see Kern in melee (or ranged) combat or a regular basis until the BAB discrepancy begins to build up.
| Kern Therensgard |
Enlarge is a wash on AC, unless you count heavily on DEX. You get a +2 to Natural Armor while taking a -1 from DEX and Size. It's really just +1 Damage and the extra damage die and reach.
Unless you've houseruled it, the *spell* doesn't actually give you the extra +2 Natural...you only get it as part of creature progression/templates.
Brok Thunderhams
|
Poor guys... They never stood a chance with Kyra and Darvan around did they?
Brok Thunderhams
|
Nah it's Kyra and Darvan. Both killers. :P
One for Might, the other for Right.
| Kern Therensgard |
BTW, I am paying attention, just not posting because Kern's not there. With luck, Kern will have all the loot catalogued (good thing he's an honorable guy) by the time you pick him up.
