Summing up the plan again
1st Damen and Brigrid goes to opposite side of the camp shot some bandits and run. Hopefully a few bandits chase after him. (Svetlana will cast light on a stone for them to use)
2nd When the rest of us hear the the bandits have been sufficiently drawn off. I cast enlarge person(lasts two minutes now) and Leon casts dancing lights and Svalana casts light (is you see the leader cast there so can't get away) then we attack the hopefully weakened bandit camp. Long range to start off (I'll grease to keep them off for a bit). Then when they get close Ulrik uses his enlarged muscles.
3th Damen and Brigrid seeing that their light stone go out will know that the attack is under way and double back.
Important note: because we are attacking at night and it is fairly easy to lose people with out lowlight or dark vision in the darkness we always have the option of retreat if things go wrong even if we only kill a few of them it's still a victory for us so long as none of us dies O.K.

Okay, I understand the plan. I will be posting my next action in about 12 hours from now. I will try sooner but no promises. I will be online for several hours after my next post so if there is a time to get carried away and not leave me behind, that will be it.

Svetlana Orlovsky |

Other than the light spells, no other pre-combat actions for Svetlana.

Ulryk has
Guisarme (+6) 2d4 (+6)x3 S (Reach, Trip)
Bill (+6) 1d8 (+6) x 3 S/P (Reach, Brace, Disarm +2 - +1 Ac when fighting defensively, -1 to ride checks if striking a mounted foe)
Ranseur (+6) 2d4 (+6) x3 P (Reach, Disarm +2)
Halberd (+6) 1d10 (+6) x3 S/P (Reach, Brace)
Flail (+6) 1d8 (+4) x2 B (Disarm +2, Trip)
Battle Axe (+6) 1d8 (+4) x3 S
Throwing Axe (+3) 1d6 (+4) x2 10 ft S
Longbow (+3) 1d8 x3 100 ft P
It's on his sheet. This man is loaded to the gills. Must have like 3 different belts full of weapons. I can see why his intimidate checks work so often.

Ulryk Lebeda |

That's his total equipment Kent. He doesn't carry it all with him. Most of it is either on his horse or in the cart. Keep in mind he left the cart with Oleg... I specified a number of posts back what he was taking with.
Here is what he brought with him:
Guisarme (+6) 2d4 (+6)x3 S (Reach, Trip)
Ranseur (+6) 2d4 (+6) x3 P (Reach, Disarm +2)
Longbow (+3) 1d8 x3 100 ft P
Flail (+6) 1d8 (+4) x2 B (Disarm +2, Trip)
It's 32 pounds of equipment and typically will only carry such on him (I might sub out pole-arms and the like and maybe add in his axes... but for now, that's pretty standard.)
Given that Ulryk can carry 100 pounds as a light load, I'm not overly worried.
PS - This is also why I hung the bandit instead of beheading him. I didn't have the halbard or battle axe with me. While I could have perhaps used the guisarme, it wouldn't have been as clean.

Leorn |

Because you all have been posting like crazy without me, No, I didn't. I skipped a lot of the OOC discussion thread. At one point I had almost fifty new posts to skim through.
And strangely enough, I have a lot of free time right now and tomorrow and suddenly people aren't posting. Boggles the mind I tell you, boggles the mind.

Too bad we only have one bit worth of communication and it goes the other way. Damen got a 25 the first time and didn't see anything. Don't know if you can see anything.

You can, but it's just an invisible colossal wyvern. Nothing to worry about. At least, not for very long.

Svetlana Orlovsky |

I hear that invisible colossal wyverns are especially drawn to bare-chested android wizards.

Kent Unsaid |

Well they can's be using SENTRY MANNEQUIN's
I wonder what they did use. Maybe the leader killed a bunch for failing and is using the bodies as decoys.

Kent Unsaid |

Not really anything to plan. My plan went belly up now we ether attack or retreat. Sense we don't have any way to communicate with each other and can't do an organized retreat we have to attack.

Brigid auf Whitehelm |

I thought about making a stand there, but I really had no way of knowing how soon the rest of you would be along. And with most of the party about twenty minutes away, it would have been settled one way or the other.

Ulryk Lebeda |

Unfortunately, the scouting mission ended with casualties which weren't able to be hidden from the enemy. That clearly alerted them to our presence. Once that happened, there was little chance of catching them unawares within a short time frame. We could have abandoned this attack and left them alone for a few days and then struck again, but then they might have investigated or gathered up more of their force.
This looks to be a very dangerous battle, but at the moment, they cannot see us very well. Which gives us the edge.

![]() |

Very true...their biggest mistake, and you can thank Brigid for this, was assuming you were coming from a different direction. As you can see they are set up for an attack from where Brigid and Damen are now located. When I rolled to track Brigid, they failed and thought the group came from the other direction....lucky for you guys!! But shush... don't let the DM know I told you!!

Svetlana Orlovsky |

Given the way the camp is set up, and the number of bandits here (more than we thought initially) I would say the "scouting" mission was a success. Not as much for recon, though we did figure out where a key blind was and took it out before our big attack, but more for clipping 4 off their numbers and not ending up any worse off in terms of combat position than we would have been had we simply attacked after a quick "the enemy is here" type of scouting mission.
7 Bandits plus leader is bad enough. 11 plus leader is even more worrisome.

Damen Medvyed |

7 Bandits plus leader is bad enough. 11 plus leader is even more worrisome.
Based on the initiative roster, it looks like we have 9 plus the leader, meaning that without the scouting mission it would've been a total of 14 bandits. That would've been a heck of a fight. Even the 10 we're facing could be brutal, but I think our plan will work out pretty well... unless *all* the bandits chase us, but we'll cross that bridge when it threatens to beat us to death.

Kent Unsaid |

You might well get away even if all of them chase you it being dark. In which case the rest of us will occupy the camp and pick them off as they come back. You might want to shot one or two of them to make sure they are mad enough to follow you.
Fortunately dancing lights appear where summoned so there is no way to tell where they came from. They might think that you are casters or have will-wisps as ally or even that you were lead here by will-wisps.

Svetlana Orlovsky |

@Damen: Yep, you're right. I miscounted, but like you said even more to the point that taking out 4 ahead of time really helped us.
I just point it out because it seems like there's been a tenor in other posts to see the scouting mission as a big mistake. Although it definitely did not go off as planned I'd say it was quite successful. And on an RP level was a lot of fun; I'd like to have Svetlana do similiar things in the future.

Damen Medvyed |

The scouting mission was an unmitigated success. The only downside it brought is that we weren't able to communicate to take advantage of changing conditions, which is basically inherent any time you split up the group. In a couple levels I'll be able to use animal messengers so that will help, but a long-term investment in a couple rings of sending or something wouldn't be a terrible idea if we find we need to keep splitting up.

Kent Unsaid |

We could go for more mundane methord and just all learn some simple bird calls.
knowlege nature to know what birds don't live in this area: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (6) + 9 = 15
So we do
screech owl hoot - "I need reenforcement."
Thrush -" everyone should get out of the area NOW!" (like there are volcano or a elder red dragon or something)
feel free to list other calls we might need.

Damen Medvyed |

Wouldn't that require a perform check to emulate a bird in a way that doesn't make every bandit say "OVER THERE!" and charge at us? I don't think most of us have any hope of making such a check.

Leorn |

Actually I have message prepared. I would have suggested it if I had known we'd need it sooner. I am getting better at being more attentive and can catch up on the reading on my phone. Sorry it took me so long to get back into the swing of this. Spring break is coming up soon so a real chance for me to get into this.
Also, I was hoping I could ask a favor of you guys. I have a game on my phone called ”Deity Wars” Sort of a virtual card game. It normally doesn’t cost money to play but to really get good cards, you have the option to spend money to do so. There are other ways to get good cards though. One way is through invitation coupons. I get those every time a new player puts in my referral code.
So, what I am asking for any of you with a device,(Iphone, Smartphone, tablet, etc) to download the App game Deity Wars. You then run through the tutorial. Once the tutorial is complete, you then go to Mypage, should be accessable via a button on the top of the screen. You then scroll down to the Referral Code button and then tap it. Then you enter my referral code DIE9324 and confirm. Just like that, I get an invitation coupon which I can trade for an awesome card and you get a free random card.
It doesn’t cost anything to download and run through the tutorial. I know a lot of players who’ve been playing a while who haven’t spent a cent. So there really is no harm to you. Just a moment of your time. Once you’ve helped me out, you can uninstall the game, or continue to play. My game name is Deece24 so send me a message if you would like to continue and I’ll make room for you as my ally.
Thanks for hearing out my request. You don’t have to help me, I just thought I’d try. No harm in asking right? Thanks again.
