I might be starting up a Maptools/Ventrilo Serpent Skull or kingmaker within a few weeks. Im still reading the SS modules at this time (book 4 currently).
My IRL crew has pretty much dispersed to the winds after 20+ years due to RL events/moves etc. So im pretty interested in this as a possibilty.
Im on eastern time and it will likely be a weeknight 7-11 or 8-12pm thing unless its on a friday night (which can start and end later).

Any chance at using Skype? And we are really only up for Kingmaker at this point as our usual GM is dying to play that. I'll have to check on the times too, they are PST and they usally start at 10 our time.

Well still looking.
Seriously why is it so hard to find a non-pb (whatever) game online, or players willing to play. I mean roleplaying is about interaction between ppl, not between typed words.
Outside of being able to find a table-top game I would think voice chat games would be the best option for ppl.
Ah well, maybe I'm just too old fashioned. LOL

Possibly for the same reason people can't nail down a real life game. Timing. Getting folks together at the same time for a few hours can be hard, especially on a forum where people visit from all the time zones in the world.
Good luck though, perserverence is the key.

I prefer ventrilo over skype and I already have a server (as a WoW player). Other than that my times will stay the same unless its a weekend game on a fri night or sun. Im up at 4:20 am usually for work on weekdays so later starts on weeknights are impossible atm.
In any event, im currently reading through book 5 of Serpent Skull, and I have yet to read beyond book 2 on Kingmaker so I havent decided what game I'll do when the time comes regardless.
When im ready ill post in this forum. Good Luck in your search for a game. Im kind of in the same boat.

Well, itll be abit. Im done reading serpent skull and wasnt thrilled about a certain element in books 5 and 6. I wont go into details as they will be spoiler-ish.
About to start reading Kingmaker 3-6 (read the early chapters when I was dm'ing it for my home game). Its still going to be awhile before I attempt any online DMing, so dont wait for me.
My main thing with Kingmaker is the kingdom building. Its cool to do in an RL game, but I may want to do the "kingdom in the background" thing and run it more like a traditional game. PCs will be heroes of the new kingdom or they will still have a chance to be rulers, just might not go with the actual rules and just describe it as more background.
I just want to focus more on the story and the PCs instead of number crunching outside the game.

Hello there !
I am also highly interested in that kind of game, since my table groups both seem to be very low on the time available right now (exams etc)
However, my spoken english is very bad.
Otherwise, I would gladly run Kingmaker or other modules, but I fear it won't work the way I would like it.
My experience with Maptool is pretty large, I have used it for RPG as well as board games and war games and can explain the basics for sure in no time. Its not hard at all to use !
