Olivier de la Verdure |

Scrabbling along after the others, Olivier did what he could to catch up and regain his usual spot in the front of the group. In the next room, he gaped at the fallen tower briefly before resuming his usual role of keeping an eye and ear out for trouble.

moving to the tower you notice two figures near the fallen tower. they seem to be trying to move the rubble from the around the fallen tower.
they have yet to notice you.

Janasen Tillsden |

The two turn to you and drop into a defensive stance. Getting closer you can tell one is a hunchbacked woman with a face warped by tumors, the other a man (depicted on the map) that is tall and thin with a face that melds an attractive elven man, a goat, and a lizardfolk. His oversized fingers end in dull, spade like talons.
In a raspy voice "Are you friend or foe? What do you want?

Olivier de la Verdure |

"Us?" Olivier glanced at the others and shrugged. "We're simply passing through. You wouldn't happen to know a way out and back to the surface, would you?"
Diplomacy: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (7) + 7 = 14 extra +2 if from Mendev
He more or less ignored the unusual appearances of the pair... At least as well as he could. He had seen some strange things in the River Kingdoms, but nothing quite like... Well, quite like them. They didn't seem hostile at the moment, though. That's the only thing he really cared about for the moment.

Ashe Asani |

Ashe steps forward, her voice full of concern, "By the gods, what has befallen you two? I assure you, we don't mean you any harm."
Diplomacy: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (17) + 5 = 22 +1 if they would consider her attractive.

Janasen Tillsden |

The strange man seems a little offended by Ashe's outburst. "if you mean us no harm would you be willing to help us rescue our friend? He is trapped under the rubble.

Janasen Tillsden |

The man points out a large stone slab. " we thought we could dig him out but the stones began to shift." the man says in a strained voice.
looking at it you could probably get six people to lift the stone.

Arc does not actively offer her (fatigued) services. In the likely event someone asks after the paladin offers to lift, though, she complies. She remains untrusting of these subterranean people.

Roderic moves over and tries to lift the stone slab.

He stands up and brushes himself off and tries again with the help of the party.

The slab is tossed aside revealing a third misshapen individual. The man and woman both rush in to help the third one out.
Upon climbing out the man that spoke to you before speaks"Thank you all. We are in your debt for saving our friend. My name is Lann. pointing to the woman "This is Dyra she nods. "and the one you saved is Crel." finishing up he smiles at all of you you were looking for a way out we can help with that. allow us to lead you to our village to meet our chieftain he should be able to get you to the surface.
at the mention of an underground village Avashnial speaks up Village? Did someone say village?

Ashe Asani |

Ashe can't hide the look of surprise on her face, but quickly recovers thanking Lann and his friends, "Thank you, we would certainly appreciate that. Where is this village?"

Olivier de la Verdure |

"Lann. Dyra. Crel." Olivier offers a deep, almost exaggerated bow. "I am Olivier de la Verdure, and these--" his hand sweeps across the rest of the group "are my motely band of companions. We'd be more than happy to follow you to your village."

Janasen Tillsden |

The three return Olivier's bow and Lann gestures to follow them. The three lead the way explaining that the village is just a couple tunnels away but because of the tremors the quicker route is blocked.
After about a half hours walk a wide chasm splits the tunnel floor.
The floating rock dust in the air and the groans as the tunnel walls settle indicate that the tunnel split recently.

10 feet across more than 60 feet wide and 30 feet deep. You can see that the path continues about 40 feet east of the entrance on the other side.
crossing is a climb check with a DC of 15 but you also have to consider the wounded.

Janasen Tillsden |

"Unfortunately no, this is the only way. Lann says in dismay as he and the other three make there way across. During their climb Lann seems right at home traversing such conditions, however Dyra slips and falls with a muffled scream. The sound of her hitting the ground below is sickening.

Janasen Tillsden |

You can barely make out the muffled groan in response.

Evelynn Quinn |

"I'll go down and see if I can help"
Eve says before attempting to climb to the bottom of the chasm.

Arc watches as the person falls. "Unfortunate."
Upon the query for rope on the other side, she judges the situation.
If the following plan is possible, she speaks up. "Have only the one rope. Been using improvised hooks with javelins for stuff like this."
Arc is willing to attempt to try to snag a set of rocks or something with a javelin (with her rope tied to it in the center after descending.) If this looks impossible, she keeps silent.

sure why not. Still leaves the problem of the injured getting up and down.

Rema25 |

"That would most likely be very unsafe. If the rope can take the abuse can we not let them down and pull them up individually somehow? I have no skill with ropes, but with a shield large enough to hold them, could we not lower and raise them safely maybe?" The picture Rema built in his head seems easier said then done so he seems a little unsure of his own advise.

Ashe Asani |

Ashe laughs a little at herself, "That is a much better idea. I am sorry, I am out of my element in this place. We should do that.
Seeing the injured woman, Ashe aids in healing.

managing to safely cross the hazard you continue down the tunnel for about 20 minutes before reaching a circular cavern. The cavern is roughly 40 feet in diameter. Thick sheet of fungus grow in the cave, and several tunnels branch off. All of these save one in the north wall lead downward; the northern one leads upward. What appear to be two dead bodies lie on the ground in the middle of the cave next to a strange heap of ropey green fungus.

Roderic Lluis DeLaMer |

Roderic sets down Horgus's remains and after a breath asks the party, "That fungus does not seem safe, as with many things down here. If we are unable to bypass it, do we have any oil with which we may burn what is in our way. I have heard of people contracting illness from such things, and it appears that it did not bode well for those two." He says gesturing at the corpses next to it.
