Based on what I have heard from people, it looks like the next one that I will run will be 'Mists of Mwangi', followed by 'The Penumbral Accords'.
I hope that answers your question ;-)

Ah, Fair enough. I saw that she was Int 10, and assumed that, since she was human, and all humans receive their 'ethnic' language for free, that she had to be Keleshite, since she had 'Qadiran' :-/
For what it is worth, Qadiran is not a language - Kelish is, though ;-)

Guys, Alie has roughly 2900 gp right now. I was going to save for a stat boosting item, but as we are playing up, it seems, perhaps buying something to help for this adventure would be a better expenditure.
Any recommendations for her?

2 scrolls of enlarge person to boost Fog in case of tough fights?
On the other hand, if we play up Fog's AC of 15 combined with 18 hps is dangerous. With his shield it becomes 16. He could flip to a tower shield for this one (30 gp) giving him 19 before any spells.
If he preps shield of faith +2 deflection.
Protection from Evil is also +2 deflection. (one or the other as they don't stack)
I could prep Aid to get him +1 to hit and some temp hps (one encounter only)
Generally we don't have a lot of hps or AC between us as a group for L4-5. I hadn't anticipated this, but as is I actually have slightly better AC, more hps, hit with more chance of success and hit harder than Fog in melee. Then Tal is better in all departments except max damage per strike than Ana.

Well, If Fog has the money, a suit of MW Full Plate would certainly help, as well as the tower shield...
I am also not expecting any massive problems with this module... the one after it will be a bit more challenging, but at least Fog will be 3rd level for that one :-)

I am the PFS rookie, but this might be the time to try and go the opposite way. Everyone go as lightly armored as possible, pick up bows, etc., and try to outmaneuver the enemies and pick them off from a distance, if possible. And run away, if we have to. Of course, that might be a dumb idea, too.

I've never run or played this one, but it was one of the early fan favorites. So much so that it is the only scenario from season 0 that has been converted to PF rules. If Luke thinks it would be alright I'm not too worried.
As far as speed I think only Kovar is slowed down by armor, but Fog and Alie will still be at 20 ft either way. I have a few 1d6 lightning arcs as touch attacks at short range but that is it for the moment.

I forgot that it had been updated - it has been a while since I ran it!
Downloading the latest version of the module, there are a couple of fights that *might* be challenging at Tier 4-5; you will definitely walk all over Tier 1-2, though.
The choice is yours. Tier 4-5 is appropriate for the party, but you can play down if you wish. However, if you play smart, and if Fog *does not* rush forward on some *very obvious* occasions, you should be fine.

Ok, The tower shield is an option, the MWFull Plate costs *way* more than my max spend....
He also has plenty of healing stuffs about, even if it means throwing his wand to Ith's character mid fight.
Bought tower shield though...

As Ithuriel said, we are just trying to provide options for Fog; with Dex 10, the main way that he is going to get AC is by putting on the largest, heaviest suit of armor he can find ;-)
However, if you want to focus on some other aspect of the character, by all means, do so - we just wanted to make sure you knew some of your options :-)
Also, in case it is not clear, I am waiting for other PCs to interact with Ithuriel's new character, before I move the 'plot' forward...

Luke, I noticed yesterday that it seems like I could change the name of the campaign. Would you like me to change it to Random Weekend Theater or something else reflecting you as the current GM? It doesn't look like it is possible to change the actual GM of a campaign as far as the forum is concerned.

Yeah, it's an interesting conundrum. I was going for a Magic weapon next, and MW Full plate will take that out a bit. Of course, I can sell the scale, which makes it less problematical.
So, what would you more seasoned masters suggest? Really good armour now, and Magic Weapon Later, or less good armour now, and Magic Weapon Now?
Of course, I can prep magic weapon....

There is a link on the CAMPAIGNS page at the top of the Online Campaign page where you can request this change.

Wadi> Thanks. Didn't know about that. Request mailed.
Fog> If we are playing up keeping you alive is probably higher priority than the +1 damage. If you are worried about DR/magic you can either prep magic weapon or buy an oil of magic weapon and probably be good for now. With a subtier 4-5 reward you may get nearly enough gold for a +1 weapon enhancement just from that. I think 1-2 averages 500-600 and 4-5 averages 1500-2000. Those are just my impression.

I think keeping you upright is more important as well, Fog. Just buy an oil of magic weapon or two and I'd think you'd be good.

I realise that it is a bit late to say anything now, but I honestly don't mind if Ithuriel keeps 'control' of the thread ;-)
Regarding Fog's questions, I usually consider a MW weapon and MW armor (generally full plate) to be my first important purchases with a character - although nice, having a magic weapon does not really start to crop up as being *essential* until around level 6 or so (although there are creatures with DR/Magic, and incorporeal creatures, they do not crop up routinely); until that point, having an oil of magic weapon is generally fine.
That said, I usually consider it to be useful to have weapons constructed of the various 'flavors' - cold iron, silver, adamantine, slashing, bludgeoning, piercing, and reach. Weapon based characters really *do* end-up with a 'golf-bag-of-weapons' ;-)
Also, also Ithuriel noted, after the next two games, you will have around 3,000gp just from the modules, so enchanting your weapon should not be a problem ;-)

Cool, that's pretty conclusive. :) I hadn't realised the amount of gold went up that drastically!
So, next question.
Full plate which will leave me with a few GP (less than 10) or half plate at less than half the price? Difference is 1AC
Luke_Parry
|
I recommend full plate.
Look at it this way - +1 half-plate, which has the same AC bonus as full plate, costs more; +2 half-plate, which has the same AC bonus as +1 full plate, costs substantially more; et cetera.
In terms of economy as you increase in level, the initial outlay on full plate is worth it :-)
ithuriel
|
Agreed. Look at it this way-
Increasing your AC by one costs a minimum of 2000 gp (via enhancement, ring, amulet of natural armor, etc). Once you have a +1 from all of those sources the cost increases exponentially. The only shortcut to all of that is getting a head start on your non magical armor. The double cost of full vs half plate is nothing compared to what you are going to be paying in the long run.
Luke_Parry
|
Actually, just so Fog is not confused, via enhancement, it is 1,000 for +1 on Armor; +2000 for +1 on weapons, and 2,000 for Amulets of Natural Armor +1, and Rings of Protection +1 ;-)
That said, it is definitely still more economical to 'outlay' for better Masterwork armor to start with...

You need to 'present your holy symbol' in order to channel...
That said, there are a few ways to get around that - consecrated weapons (+150gp) and sacred shields (+100gp) count as holy symbols, so you can 'present' them :-)
