As per subject. NEW PLAYERS WELCOME!
Sorry to mods if I screwed up the formatting for this. Mea culpa.
I'm looking for 4-5 good folks who want to run amok in Numeria! None of my in-person group likes lasers, so I thought I'd try my luck here.
I've been running D&D since 2nd edition was the new hip thing, and I've been running Pathfinder since 2011. I like to think we have a fun and light-hearted time around the table-- or the network node, such as it is.
It would be easiest for me to play Saturday afternoons EST, but I can negotiate week day evenings.

JABIII, I've never played Iron Gods either! I think I'd prefer people who have no experience with the Adventure Path rather than people who have played it before.
Webb,
I would be shooting for 1pm EST/ 5pm UTC or thereabouts on Saturdays, for approximately 4 hour sessions. Ideally we would do this every week, but I'll call it a success if it's 2-3 times a month.

JABIII, I read through the class, but as per the house rules I linked to, I won't be allowing 3rd party classes. The machinesmith would be particularly inappropriate because I really like the idea of PCs who are otherwise normal rubes from a standard high-fantasy, pre-renaissance equivalent town in Golarion who are suddenly thrust into a world of cyborgs and laser rifles. I hope my vision for the experience doesn't diminish your enthusiasm to play. :-)

@JABIII,
Thanks for being gracious about it. Right now, I'm only in active discussion with one other potential player, so you're setting the tone. Seeing as you will be eventually fighting so many things that don't worry about diseases (robots, etc.) I think a blight druid might end up being a liability. A warpriest of Brigh would fit VERY well.

Well. I understand that you want to do the rolling on Fantasy Grounds but would it be okay if I rolled my stats here? I'm bored as hell at work and working on this toon would help pass the time. I'm using my phone is why, Fantasy Grounds kinda fizzles out.(This alias is my concept for the toon, btw.)

Well, now we have a party!
Can everyone do the time I specified? Saturdays, early afternoons EST?
@JABIII
Freaking gnomes. :-p
But, yeah, that'll do.
@ TarkXT
Is there a way to do that? I am only now becoming familiar with the features of the Paizo boards. Can you roll dice here? That's so cool!
4d6 ⇒ (4, 2, 5, 5) = 16
4d6 ⇒ (6, 3, 6, 1) = 16
4d6 ⇒ (4, 3, 5, 3) = 15
4d6 ⇒ (5, 2, 5, 2) = 14
4d6 ⇒ (5, 2, 3, 4) = 14
4d6 ⇒ (3, 2, 1, 5) = 11
And for any 1's that need rerolling, in this order:
10d6 ⇒ (6, 3, 3, 4, 4, 2, 3, 2, 1, 4) = 32
@ Izzeth, can you connect to FG right now? I'd prefer that to you doing it on your own. It's the only way I know of that's fair to everyone besides using point buy. Also, see above. If you can do it honestly on here, sure.

Think the only way for certain is to make a gameplay/discussion thread and have players post aliases in the gameplay thread. then they should show up under campaign info and let you mess with it from there. Though if this is a map+skype game that won't even be necessary.
Anyway, ima roll just so I can see what I can make.
4d6 ⇒ (2, 6, 5, 6) = 19
4d6 ⇒ (2, 3, 2, 4) = 11
4d6 ⇒ (1, 2, 1, 1) = 5
4d6 ⇒ (1, 4, 5, 1) = 11
4d6 ⇒ (5, 3, 1, 2) = 11
4d6 ⇒ (5, 1, 3, 6) = 15

@TarkXT
So what is your character concept? I'm excited to see!
I dunno.
I'm likely going to wait to see what everyone else does so I can fit in a concept.
Iron gods is an odd one. I love the concept but can't really find a concept that works for me so I'll do more digging.
Closest I've come could best be described as "Carl Sagan in Golarion" but to make that work I'd need to play a fullcaster and I really don't feel like playing one.
impureascetic |
Yeah, you read right. I'd rather get a headache trying to balance for powerful PCs and end up accidentally splattering someone with a too-high CR than have you guys perfectly balanced for the AP only to die an ignominious death due to a die roll that was one or two off and could have been solved during character creation.
The tradeoff is that I really want solid backstories and interwoven backgrounds. I want the reasons WHY you are risking life and limb to explore the dark below, WHY you would venture far from home to do battle with forces that normal mortals would just as soon shrink from. And before you heard the call, what were you doing? What were you telling your mom you were going to do for a living before you decided to swing a sword for your keep? Do you still plan to do that? Etc.

I usually go to bed around 11pm. Add this same username on Skype to poke me in real time. I'll be around during the day today, and I'll be home much of Friday. I'll walk you through the ins and outs of the program then. I have a bunch of level 1 iconics loaded in for just such an occasion, but we can practice with your iron priest if you have him ready.

I'll have to figure out how to even makea character in fantasy grounds.
that said I think I've finally settled on a concept.
Human robot huntress. Been wanting to try a hunter for a while and the idea of a revenge obsessed tribal hunting robots with her trusty war slug(or bird? or ape?) appeals to me greatly.
impureascetic |
Ha ha ha ha. A war slug? That's hilarious. Again: can't wait to hear the backstory.
Making a character in Fantasy Grounds is a bit of a pain, in that there's no easy way to do it. You just have to copy whatever is there into the character sheets. You CAN import from a bunch of formats, theoretically, but I've had bad luck, at least coming from PCGen. Hero Forge might work better. Not sure. Anyway, most of the time my players just send me their sheets and I input the data manually.

Hi all –
I'm actually in the GM's in-person group, so I can vouch for the creativity of his campaigns as well as the fun. I'm a relative noob, in that I came back to play after a 20ish year absence with his group last fall, but the hook is well-set now and I look forward to a new game with some additional stuff (adding robots and aliens to Pathfinder is definitely going to be adding some chocolate to my peanut butter).
Looks like there are three others so far, so what are we all playing? I've got two ideas that could work... I see you've chosen:
JABIII with a gnome warpriest
Izzeth with an iron priest (also gnome?)
TarkXT with human robot huntress
I'm thinking that my elven witch concept could fit in well... Thoughts?
Looking forward to this game!
