And yes, I enjoy the villain speechifying as well. It would give you a good opportunity to put Shalina in the loop at whatever level you'd like :)


Updates are a bit slow, I changed my initial idea for the scene so it requires talking out and some storyboarding.

And yes, you'll actually get a fair shot at the gunslinger this time.

Greatness?

I'll settle for...good? memorable? Fitting?

Let me ask you. Let us say, out of game, that this adventure will be ending fairly soon. I plan on one more 'dungeon' (although a bit larger then some of the other ones) in this game.

Here is the question, pick an option....

Do you want me to length this game/plot/arc (there are ways *evil cackle*)?

Would you want to take Shalina on a new and different adventure entirely?

Would you want to create a totally new character for a new adventure (maybe different them as well)?

Or would you say "Thanks, good game" and we would go our separate ways?

Just want to know where you stand, in a general sense (you may of course, change your mind at any time).

I would vote for any option but to go our separate ways. I enjoy playing the solo game a lot more than I thought I would.

My preference would be to continue with this game (even though the evil cackle did give me pause...) But I realize that once a character gets too high a level that some GMs don't enjoy it anymore. I'm also enjoying playing Shalina so even if she goes on another adventure, I'm good with that.

Maybe once I get sick of Shalina (or you do), we could look at a totally new character. I just don't have anything in mind at the moment.

I am very honored that you'd want to run another game with me! Makes my day. Although maybe you'll hate the end so much you will change your mind! But yes, solo has worked out well here and I think having her gestalt has really gone a long way to making combat more fun and less deadly.

High level is something that is slightly harder to run because the normal issues , holes in the floor or basic traps, are just time-wasting annoyances. The upside is, this game has always been more about the NPCs and choices then about dangers so it is doable.

Let me ask you this, would you want it to be the same type of dungeon based game? This has a certain formula (which we have both enjoyed), would you just want a good version of that?

Obviously not the same type of dungeons but the same basic design of game?

I do want to say I am not trying to rush the end of this game, which still has lots of turns, twists, good NPCs and stuff. Just seems a good day to discuss such things!

I am very much enjoying the formula you've employed for the dungeon-based game so far. But at the same time, I also enjoy being surprised by whatever is in the GM's mind. Sometimes we don't really know what we want :) I think at the beginning I told you I didn't really want a social game but I'm really enjoying the social interactions in our game so what do I know?

Long story short, I trust your judgment so you have carte blanche :)

Yeah but your last set of damage dealing did quite a number on him. Now that you have closed with him, advantage swings back to you. What did you think of the map, btw?

I really like having the map. It helps me picture where Shalina can move. I'm the kind of person who feels the more information I get, the better :)

I don't think it was too railroaded. It fit the story that needed to unfold so I'm good with it.

So couple follow up questions from before. Other than causing her extreme pain and giving her the visions of what happened, did she learn anything about the gong piece from her identify spell?

Was the gong piece that Baskir had, a third piece of of the gong or was it already a few of the pieces put together?

Would Sim's button to call the monks for help be useful for helping to locate the monks with her locate object scroll?


Identify actually doesn't work on artifacts.

Baskir's piece, which you now have, is the third and final bit of the gong.

That...that is an interestingly plot derailing idea. Feel free to try it.

The gong is complete but could she tell from her vision whether there's more pieces to the artifact?

Shalina can tell she has gathered all the pieces needed.

You don't derail plots. If anything, Shalina has been very plot friendly. Do whatever you think she would do.

And yeah, leveling is fun. You are getting up to the fun stuff now.

Sometimes leveling two classes is challenging. I think I missed a rogue talent for the archaeologist archetype at level 8. Would you be able to confirm? But I don't think she gets anything for archaeologist at level 9 because the inspire greatness doesn't apply.

Shalina will most likely search out the monks - even if just to try to figure out a little more what's happening. But she'll wait until the food/drink problem is solved.

I think she's leveled. I chose Trap Spotter as her other rogue talent because it seemed to make sense for her.

I wasn't really thinking when I chose her latest feat. I will most likely need to change it considering I don't think she'll ever be able to use it while raging.

When you give me the damage, are you taking anything into account like her DR/1 or am I supposed to do that? Also, I've been forgetting about her temporary hps when she rages. I feel like such a noob.

I know it's my own fault for not tracking her hps properly but any suggestions?


Against evil things, paladins are a powerhouse.

Everyone forgets buffs and stuff. I once played an entire level without realizing I had been screwing up my ranged attacks for weeks. Please calculate the DR yourself.

You'd definitely see a shift in Shalina's personality if that were to happen. Not that you should take that as a challenge :)

She'll start with that. She'd share more depending on what counter questions he may have for her. But you can assume that she'll basically share everything.

I view it more as if he wants to discuss anything else with Shalina because he has a tendency to avoid questions if he doesn't want to share :)

She'd probably take the time to share with him everything she saw in her vision regarding the artifact and the fact that the monks may be coming but it doesn't have to be done in character unless he has specific questions. Oh, and she'd tell him that he had been halfling size again.

Does she go back to full hit points? I figured she was pretty bad off and there isn't any way the spells she had left would have gotten her to full and she would have made sure that Sim focused on Tekk. I'm assuming she's back at full but if that's wrong, let me know.


I'd say full hit points since Sim is a healer who wants to heal you. Everything you have eaten or drunk is probably laced with health potions.

And the lack of monks at the first location is totally NOT a retcon from before I knew exactly what the plot was.
