this is an excellent time for me to let y'all know about my summer plans.

At the end of May, I'll be heading to Japan for 2 weeks of fun. I'll have a pocket wifi, so i SHOULD be able to update games every day or other day. But, if I go silent for a spot, that's why.

Then, i'm back in hawaii for a week before i head off to the Philippines to teach and "ed"-venture for 3 weeks. I'll have internet in my hotel, but that's about it. And, given reports from people who did this fellowship last year, i'll be in my hotel for no more than 6 hours a day (which is fine by me, but y'know not great for gaming). I'll try and stick to an every other day schedule, but things may pop up. Anywho, i'll be back by July 7, and life will continue as normal from then on.

Just wanted to give you guys a head up of what's coming down the pipeline.

I also wanna say how much fun it's been so far to game with you. You've really taken to the themes of this AP and made them your own! I'm so excited to see how the rest of the AP pans out for you !!

If the game is going to get in the way of what sounds like a once in a lifetime opportunity, I'd understand if you wanted to put it on hiatus for a month or two (especially while you are in the Philippines). Either way, it sounds like a fun time!

I agree with both Amber and The Oldest One in that this game has proven to be most enjoyable! Still I would understand if you need to place the game on hiatus while you are overseas.

But, ya the Philippines is kind of a once in a lifetime thing. Was awarded a grant with 75 other teachers across the country to teach for 3 weeks in one of 6 countries, all expenses paid. it's the reason why i was in DC in February. It's seriously cool. i'm REQUIRED to go on tours to places of national, historical, and natural importance and beauty (i.e. i have to play tourist), attend lectures on the history and education system of the Philippines, and meet important people of importance. Plus! I work with a host-teacher on places to stay and see while i'm in my community in the Philippines, and then I'm teaching/co-teaching/observign science classes. It's gonna be awesome!

So is Japan part of that, or just a coincidence?

coincidence. College buddy of mine have been talking about going to Japan for over a decade. We finally decided to do it. Then i got the fellowship (of the ring), and so it's like 6 weeks of traveling all piled in one round of awesomeness!

Hey guys, my laptop has died and I'm stuck working the next couple of days so until I can get the issue addressed I'm limited to posting from my Kindle - which makes using maps difficult.

Just bot Amber as needed and I'll try and catch up when I get home from work tomorrow night.

Hmmm.
I used a lot of resources, but it wasn't too bad.
The fight seemed harder, that's certainly true. I think I might prefer that in a genre as dark as this one.

Amber, that totally sucks about your laptop. I hope you can get it fixed without too much hassle.

I agree with the Oldest One. These kind of fights should be tougher than normal in a setting like this.

I enjoyed the tactical challenge. Feliks had to shoot and scoot, which was a great way to validate my choice of a light crossbow.

That didn't seem too bad! I just wish Amber had a little more to contribute in a fight but it should get better as she gets another level or two under her belt :)

I liked that it was in the library. OO usually uses fire and acid; not planning to do either of those here. The ladders and shelves also added something interesting to the dynamic.

the library actually has a TON of stuff for you guys (research-wise). this is lovecraft-inspired. Books are useful. dangerous, but useful.

New laptop ordered; should have it by Tuesday :)

hey guys. Ok, i'm gong to update tonight, but i'm going to put everything on hiatus until July 8. I' was looking at what I can do, and reasonably I don;t think I can update the gamese while traveling. :(

Hey, that's no problem - I've got plenty of other games that I'm in at the moment and it might be nice to have a bit of a breather on at least one until some of the PFS games wrap up.

I won'[t be back until the 7th :( so welcomes are a bit premature. I just wanted to let you guys know that I'm alive, and that I haven't forgotten about this game.

Japan was awesome and fun, but the Philippines has been fulfilling in a completely different way. Like, spiritually and professionally. This place is amazing and has truly changed me. I can't wait to digest all of this (I think it will take me several days after I get back to truly appreciate everything that has been going on).

Sorry all, I've managed to pick up the flu. I'm trying to keep going, but wording not so good now.

Ya. you can grab a crossbow, and you have healed and reslotted

Awesome. I healed 4hp (8 hours sleep, long term care) and grabbed a light crossbow

I'm going to be out of town tomorrow and Tuesday so my posting might be a little limited; I'll have my laptop with me and I'll try to check in in the evenings once we settle in at the hotel for the night.
