In short, this homebrew was intended for beginner GM's. The story contains a variety of elements in sequence that gradually go through different terrains, battle situations, and other challenges to allow a DM to become familiar with the rules.

This is to become the new centre for OOC discussion. Helps to keep the action and story separated from the mechanics and makes things more immersive.


Ok, who all is going to be going with Edelle, and I'll need a marching order, both single and double file.


Also, just wondering if everyone would mind copying their statblocks to their character profile. It's something I occasionally need to look at, and it's a hassle to search through previous posts. Some of you have already done this.

If all the rolls work out I hope to meet up with the group that went south.

I am having trouble with the character. What were the initial point buy and starting wealth. Things are not adding up.

I think I messed up my starting stats somehow. I will post again once everything is fixed.


Looks like it, yeah. I would recommend showing your work. I'd like to recommend you show more than just the single attack for your bow, since you have so many options.
Maybe show one completely unedited and then show one applying all special abilities, showing the math. (ex: +10 base,-2 deadly aim, +1 PB shot, +4 ranger's focus, -2 rapid shot=+11/+11(d8+3+4 deadly aim+1PB shot+4 ranger's focus=12)

It seems I had to many attribute points, and I was not adding the magic damage from my bow. I will gained damage, and lost a few hp. I fixed it though so I will be putting the new modifiers in my profile which go off of the new stats.

PS:I keep getting an error 404 for my profile. I will post a spoiler of the profile here until the error is fixed.

This is what was written at the start of the Chapter for you. After this, you reclaimed armor equal to your own (breastplate), and your bow & quiver. You also attained some flint/steel & a torch from the small camp in the caves. You also still possess the light bomb given to you by Dratis.

@Witness: Sounds good. I'll need a day or two to get some logistics figured out. Watch that the ability bonuses for your mental stats shouldn't be affected by race anymore if they were before.

@Sumatek: Unfortunately, drow poison save frequency is 1/minute. Unless things run long, you're probably going to be out for the fight.

@Edelle: I just got the most hilarious vision of two tough guys cautiously moving forward through tunnel, and then you sprinting past them full tilt screaming bloody murder.

Wait, if Witness is a dwarf again, why the stat changes?


Short version: reincarnate is a weird spell. Long version: mental stats represent social and cultural influences within a race that are, naturally, absent in a body which has been newly created.
Although, now that you mention it, I have not actually found anything referencing a change to mental ability scores in the spell description. Witness, you are free to keep your stats. please excuse the error.

Also stupid me forgetting to 5' step back after that round of combat :(

Is there a bend in the tunnel a convenient distance back for us to run back to and attempt to use to our advantage?

I think we need pause the game for 12 hours to see if Argent is still around. Thundrik has not posted in a while AFAIK, and we have one member unconscious. This is going to be a tough fight, and I don't think 3 of us are going to do it. Argent would give us someone else on the front lines.


@Edelle: You remember a sharp turn to the left back roughly half a minute. If your group can move quickly, you can get there in half that time.

@Casvian: I am fine with waiting a bit longer for Argent, but my concern is that the longer we wait, the more time Witness has to wait to be integrated again as well. I have spoken to Thundrik and I know the situation there.

All that being said, a tactical retreat this moment would not be a bad idea for the majority of the group.

I think Edelle would be up for a retreat/reposition about now, she's been hit pretty hard and hasn't made anything of an impact in return.


It's your turn Edelle, so you can do whatever you choose. This is a situation you are able to solve in character, I promise I'm not the type to throw TPK at you without due reason.

So that hit takes me down to a precarious 4 HP. Alric is 10' behind me with a CMW wand in hand.

Options:
A) Spend a ki point to take my AC to 26 for the turn, take a single swipe at the elemental and move 10' back to Alric so he can cure me.

Cons: One of the two AoO could put me down.
Pros: The Zombie mightn't get a second attack next round after moving 10' to attack, don't know if this is correct though as the second attack appears to be linked to the drow.

B) Spend a ki point and make 3 attacks, trying to down the Elemental/start damaging the skeleton. 5' step back so Alric can 5'step up and cure me.

Cons: Alric has to 5' step up
Pros: Might drop the elemental.

Edit: B sounds better to me, except that Alric acted before we had the full update so he can't heal me before those monsters will get another swipe at me. So I have to go with the variant of A where I move back around to the other side of Alric and hide and hope the zombie and elemental don't choose to attack me anyway.

Edit2: I was forgetting that Casvian also has and can use a CMW wand so maybe he'll burn his turn helping out his flagging friend.


All interesting options. The choice is yours.
