As for traits, you said one had to be a Campaign trait from the anniversary handbook. I don't have this book. Would it be the ones I found in the pfsrd listed for the Rise of the Runelords campaign? (Black Sheep, Favored Son/Daughter, Outlander)?
EDIT: I found them
Also, once I've got this character done, how do I submit it?

Tarciryan |

Okey, so one Udine Arcanist coming up. This is something I have been toying with for a while (he actually has quite a deep connection to Sandpoint, not touching on any story-threads though) but never had a chance to play.
2d6 + 6 ⇒ (1, 6) + 6 = 13
2d6 + 6 ⇒ (1, 5) + 6 = 12
2d6 + 6 ⇒ (6, 6) + 6 = 18
2d6 + 6 ⇒ (4, 4) + 6 = 14
2d6 + 6 ⇒ (6, 5) + 6 = 17
2d6 + 6 ⇒ (5, 1) + 6 = 12
Gold: 2d6 ⇒ (6, 5) = 11
How much information do you want before you make your picks? Anything from a one-paragraph summary to a couple of pages:-p
Have to say, after those rolls, I'd be happy to roll again. That was just ridiculous.

CaptainFord |

I know I've got one game going, but I had an idea for that one that was too good to pass up. Let's see if my rolls can back up my concept...
2d6 + 6 ⇒ (2, 5) + 6 = 13
2d6 + 6 ⇒ (6, 4) + 6 = 16
2d6 + 6 ⇒ (5, 2) + 6 = 13
2d6 + 6 ⇒ (4, 3) + 6 = 13
2d6 + 6 ⇒ (5, 6) + 6 = 17
2d6 + 6 ⇒ (1, 5) + 6 = 12
...yeah, I can make this work.

Daedalus the Dungeon Builder |

Okay, cool. I found a guide online some time ago, and a PBP seemed like a good place to try it out (as I will never slow down a table with constantly changing spells). While I'm not 100% confident with the system, I understand it enough that I shouldn't make mistakes.
Just a couple of questions involving Words of Power:
Do spells with a Duration of "Instantaneous" count towards the rule about spells having the shortest time determining the
spell length? In other words, is it possible to use a Fireball that leaves a fog cloud afterwards, or would the fog cloud immediately dissipate because it's "Instantaneous?"
Do you include Wordcasting as an archetype? Technically it isn't, but it could be taken to be one.
Does the Human’s Alternative Favored Class bonus translate into Words of Power as well? A casual reading of the rules suggests it will, but it's better to ask, in my opinion. (The exact text says, add one spell known from the spell list)
Do feats that apply to spells apply to individual Words? To specific combinations of Words? In other words, can I take Spell Specialization (Wrack), and get the bonus to Wrack + Fog Bank?
My current idea is a aasimar sorcerer (Which I came up with before seeing all of the arcane casters, wow. Might need to change to imporve my chances.), using Scion of Humanity to gain the human FCB. Would I gain a human ethnic tongue (Varisian) as a base language instead of Celestial, or would I need to select it as a bonus language?
Also, I do need to mention that I, too, am applying for another RotL game, and if I get into that one, I will have to retract from this one.
Wealth: 2d6 ⇒ (3, 2) = 5
Okay, 70 gp it is.

El Dragón |
2 people marked this as a favorite. |

"When the weak cry out for justice! When the poor plead for mercy! When the church bells toll for a hero... El Dragón shall answer their calls!"
Submitting for kicks, the kobold mysterious avenger swashbuckler Don Viega, also known as the mysterious and enigmatic El Dragón! A daring and dashing kobold hero who believes that, despite being the only kobold in about 50 miles, nobody will recognize him under his hat and mask.
And yes, he is a Zorro knock off. There really aren't enough of those.

Rixa Glasso |

Okay (This is Daedalus), Rixa is nearly done. There's a couple things I'll change depending on the answers to my questions, and she still needs more gear, but her backstory is very close to its final form, as is the rest of her. She has a thrush familiar, but I was wondering if I could reflavor it as a sparrow? The sparrow is one of Desna's sacred animals, and Rixa is a follower of Desna, so it makes sense IC.

Ever since he fell and his arms got buried in lava, Springle has had a deep regard for fire and all its uses. His father being a smith and being one of the few Gnomes would exclusively used Lava to heat his forge, Springle couldn't be of any use to his father because of the burns that had reduced his arms to blackened stumps.
Springle took to lava surfing, initially a sport of the Gnomes but Springle was tasked with using his skills to help patrol the boarders of his peoples home. This involved watching for any Drow or other evil races, during his days of riding the lava Springle came to revere the Eldest of the Elemental Lords of Fire, he knew that in his heart he wasn't even but he had to respect the Lord of Fire because he so often was the reason that Springle succeed at his missions.
While out hunting down a displacer beast that was hounding gathering parties, Springle became
separated from his patrol, following some strange Volcanic flows he emerged to the surface world. Not having spent as much time on the surface as other he eventually made his way to a small town on the verge of hosting a festival. Entering the town he sought out others of his kind.

Inarus the Wanderer |

Ulrich is happy to see he arrived just as the festival has started. Ne
Well I am back in Sandpoint, better then my home town for a half orc like me.
With luck something will happen to give me a direction in life at the festival.
Looking around he finds a place to sit and watch the preparations.
Inarus strolls towards Ulrich. The young elf stands there, staring. In his traditional elven clothing he stands out as much as the half-orc, if not more so due to his size. After a long, awkward silence he finally gathers the courage to speak. He really, really wanted to ask Ulrich if he was an orc. He had never seen an orc before, and he had green skin. But he was learning that questions like this tended to annoy people. "Are you here for the festival too? " He spoke with an obvious accent. He sounded like he had studied common, but hadn't spent any real amount of time talking to a native speaker. What he needed was people who would join him to hunt monsters such as Old Murdermaw and the Sandpoint Devil. But so far all he had seen were little humans who only seemed to care about spending their few years tilling dirt or selling goods. And the orc was different. He was obviously armed and...well, an orc! Obviously an orc would jump for a chance at a battle. Or so he hoped...
Hope you don't mind, but as there is no guarantee of being chosen, might as well RP here.

Ulrich Rovanky |

Ulrich looks up from his seat under the tree. Shifting slightly in his seat and tipping his hat back a bit.
I'm here and the festival is soon which is better then many other things. Your not from here... neither am I... sit.
Offers the elf a slice of his apple.
Really.. sit...
gestures to the ground beside him.
An elf and half-orc sitting together will at least be an novelty for the locals. Find us a halfling and someone will pay us as an attraction.

Abrotriss Contrar |

I'm dropping the spellslinger and alchemist, I think I saw another goblin alchemist, so I dropped him and I'll get Abrotriss (the Arcanist) up to spec in a bit.

2d6: 2d6 + 6 ⇒ (5, 3) + 6 = 14
Money: 2d6 ⇒ (5, 3) = 8
Looks like I'm sticking with a point buy, I don't like that array for a primary caster.
Edit: That was quick, he had already been designed for Runelords and with a 20 point buy, so I only had to add 10 gold. I will reacquaint with the character and have a role play up in a bit.

Inarus the Wanderer |

Really? Inarus sits down next to the half-orc. "But how can I tell what a halfling looks like? I'm told that they just look like fat children. Which seems to describe all human young." He takes the slice of apple as he says this and happily pops it in his mouth, already thinking about how to tell all of his friends back home about how he met a real orc.
"So, until we find a halfling...where are you from?" He then nodded towards Ulrich's swords and bow. "And anything around here worth using those on?"

Ulrich Rovanky |

Extending a hand as greeting.
Friend you are as out of place as me. bemused Oh, I am Ulrich from Trunau.
Taking the halfling question seriously.
So you have never seen a halfling. I have never spoken with an elf. Can I guess you have also never met someone with orc blood? Don't worry I won't try and eat you or anything. My mom was human and my dad a, well &^#$.
Pauses to change the subject he picks up his bow
Sandpoint has always had a minor goblin problem. That is my excuse for being here, along with some family. Why do you come?

Ruaidhrigh Katanalisko |

This is Ouachitonian, presenting Ruaidrigh Katanalisko, lava gnome pyrokineticist. What do you need set on fire today?
A swarthy gnome waddles over, his deep red hair doing an impressive impression of flame as it wavers in the breeze.
"G'day, y'all. Couldn't help but hear your conversation, and while I'm no halfling, some say we gnomes are an even odder sort. Personally, I think it's you tall folk what's the strange 'uns." the gnome says, heedless of whatever bizarre looks he's getting from passers-by and/or his listening audience.
"Do y'know if'n there'll be fireworks? I do so love a good blaze. Not a thing more beautiful in all the world, methinks." pausing only momentarily, he snaps his fingers and causes a flame to spring forth in the palm of his hand, though it doesn't seem to harm him. Using basic pyrokinesis to replicate Light. At once, his too-wide mouth breaks into a broad grin as he stares lovingly at the flame, conversation apparently forgotten.

Ulrich Rovanky |

Well now my friend's we are a veritable side show are we not. What is odder that we are here or that we are talking as new friends.
gesturing yet again to to the ground
Mom there may be a blessing in your passing, the world is better then home it seems
I no not about fireworks but be careful with that. The town had a fire and may be jumpy.
Offering some more food from his pack.
What brings the two of you to town?

Abrotriss Contrar |

A young man with black hair, green eyes... and bronze skin?! wanders over and sits next to the growing group. "Hi there," he says nervously. "You lot do not appear to be from this area either. I'm Abrotriss." he proffers no hand, but seems friendly enough. "What brings you three here?" The strange man gives the trio an appraising look, seeming to be more interested in their physical traits than personal ones. He even pulls out a book and jots a few notes.

Tessa Faundral |

Well this looks entertaining..
As the scarred lady meanders into Sandpoint, more than a few disapproving looks are cast her way. Her pale skin standing out in the crowd, she tries her best to blend into the throng.
Understandable to be suspicious...though I thought this was an open-minded town
Passing by a group, she notes a gnome sparking a flame. Stopping in her tracks, she shudders; the mind wandering back to her dreams.
"Uh, sir... Careful with that. Someone could get hurt."

Inarus the Wanderer |

Friend you are as out of place as me. bemused Oh, I am Ulrich from Trunau.
Taking the halfling question seriously.
So you have never seen a halfling. I have never spoken with an elf. Can I guess you have also never met someone with orc blood? Don't worry I won't try and eat you or anything. My mom was human and my dad a, well &^#$.
Pauses to change the subject he picks up his bow
Sandpoint has always had a minor goblin problem. That is my excuse for being here, along with some family. Why do you come?
Inarus had no idea what a &^#$ was. His education hadn't included profanities. He assumed it was another way of saying "orc."
"Well, if you did try to eat me, you'd crack a tooth, I'd wager. Well, I'm here because I have a theory. You see, most elves, my parents included, seem to think that the only way to cast a spell is by saying the right words, at the right time, and in the right way. I believe that I can instead...well, become the spell. To use my magic to strengthen my body, to the point where my fists can be as strong as a sword and my skin as tough as plate. I've hit a block when it comes to study. So the only way I can think of to continue is to, well, put it to practice. I'm here because I've heard that Sandpoint has plenty of lessor species to practice on. Like goblins, to start with. And eventually the Sandpoint Devil and old...
Before he could continue the sentence Ruaidrigh walks over.
A swarthy gnome waddles over, his deep red hair doing an impressive impression of flame as it wavers in the breeze. "G'day, y'all. Couldn't help but hear your conversation, and while I'm no halfling, some say we gnomes are an even odder sort. Personally, I think it's you tall folk what's the strange 'uns." the gnome says, heedless of whatever bizzarre looks he's getting from passers-by and/or his listening audience. "D y'know if'n there'll be fireworks? I do so love a good blaze. Not a thing more beautiful in all the world, methinks." pausing only momentarily, he snaps his fingers and causes a flame to spring forth in the palm of his hand, though it doesn't seem to harm him. Using basic pyrokinesis to replicate Light. At once, his too-wide mouth breaks into a broad grin as he stares lovingly at the flame, conversation apparently forgotten.
Inarus listens, and then with a bemused look turns to Ulrich and whispers "What are fireworks...and is that a halfling?"

Ulrich Rovanky |

Laughs so hard a piece of apples come out his nose.
Welcome Still laughing fat human child giggle
composes a little
to Inarus Big day and elf, orc blood, gnome and halfling. sounds like the start of a joke
so glad i left home, Desna bless a traveler
What a fierce group we are here under the tree. Lets pass the time, Who has a story of travel?

Ruaidhrigh Katanalisko |

Looking back and forth between the green man and the metal looking man, the flame vanishes and Ruaidrigh shrugs. "Well, I wander. Always new things in new places. We gnomes, we bore easy. Not like big dull people. And I heard there's giants on the move. Really really big folk can be interesting. And I speak their language, if they want to talk to a little person like me. If not, well, over the years I've fought lots of big folks too. The bigger they are, the easier they are to hit." he says.
When Lubella wanders over, he snickers at her joke. "You're a really pretty baby. But I don't think I ever saw a baby with such big, hairy feets." he says, before bursting out laughing once more.

Rixa Glasso |

A beautiful almost-human girl with sky-blue hair stands off to the side, watching the motley group converse.
Interesting. It sounds as though the elf is speaking in his native tongue. Who is he talking to? I haven't heard anyone else speak in Elven (or whatever this language is), and seem to have only just met. Perhaps he's talking to himself? she wonders to herself.
Just poking a bit of fun at IC v. OOC knowledge. Don't mind me.

Ulrich Rovanky |

Responding to Ruaidhrigh
Giants? Well that is a different sort of hunting for sure. I have never seen a giant.
still amused by Lubella's opening line
How am I the only one to state a name quietly and when did I become the social one rising and to the group again I am Ulrich from Trunau and I come looking for family that probably will not care for my presence.
a little embarassed now for saying so much
so who is who?

Lubella Heathertoes |

Since the half-orc had introduced himself, it would be rude not to respond in kind (and it was not normal etiquette for Lubella to have not introduced herself before now). She bows: "I am Lubella Heathertoes," she says formally. "I am very pleased to meet you all." Her Kellish accent makes it clear she is not a local.
