Rusty, care to demolish something?

Post coming right up!

Excellent :) - although I fear my hapless derro may be in for a nasty surprise.

Seeing the enemy grouped together, Rusty grins greatly, then spits a ball of flame into their midst.

OOC:

Minor: Hurl Breath 1 sq. east, 2 sq. northeast; a 2-sq. burst. should catch B8, B9, B12, R8 and R10.
Attack: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (8) + 7 = 15 vs. Reflex
Damage: 1d6 + 2 ⇒ (2) + 2 = 4

Move: 2 sq. east,

Standard: Cleave against R8
Attack: 1d20 + 16 ⇒ (20) + 16 = 36 vs. AC
Damage: 1d10 + 10 ⇒ (4) + 10 = 14
If I hit, I do 5 damage on R12

Rusty - you need to roll attacks against each enemy in the blast individually. I'll take your first roll as against B8, so roll me another four attacks against B9, B12, R8 and R10 please. Single damage roll applies to all that you hit.

Oops, I keep on forgetting. One moment please.

OOC:

Attack B9: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (4) + 7 = 11 vs. Reflex
Attack B12: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (6) + 7 = 13 vs. Reflex
Attack R8: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (11) + 7 = 18 vs. Reflex
Attack R10: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (3) + 7 = 10 vs. Reflex

That will eliminate R8, so you need to change the target of your Cleave :)

OOC:

Neat! I'll amend my subsequent actions to:

Move : 1 sq. E, 1 sq. NE

Cleave on R10

Fire and weaponry herald Rusty's arrival on the scene and the flames die away, three more derro are mere charred and eviserated pathes on the stone floor.

Unfortunately, in his eagerness, the dragonborn overlooks the glazed eyes of his dwarven colleague.

Dorvin

Spoiler:
Basic melee attack against Rusty please.

Furnace Room MAP

Dorvin - taking 5 ongoing poison and dominated (se both); 5 ongoing acid and immobilised (se both)

Quillan - 5 ongoing acid and immobilised (se both); readied action which will demolish B9 within melee range any anything other than B9 feckless enough to attack him.
Rusty

Male Dwarf Warlord 10

I have already saved vs acid/immob.
Basic attack on Rusty 1d20+13 = 17. Phew!

Dorvin snaps out of it, "Sorry lad." he mutters to the dragonborn.

save vs poison/dominate - (keep forgetting +5 vs poison saves doh!) - 20.

Dorvin's axe sends sparks flying, but comfortably misses Rusty. With a shake of his head, the dwarf rids himself of the pesky mental attack bedeviling him.

Amenephus shifts gracefully back from the bombardier and sends a bolt of light towards the only visible reaver.

Lance of Faith(Ref) v R13
1d20+9=24. Hits.

As the reaver falls in a puddle of goo, a last wave of degenerate bombardiers pile through the doors, pumping frantically at canisters of unholy liquid.

The earlier arrivals howl and charge at Rusty and Dorvin, moving to surround the pair. So great is their rage that their attacks do no damage at all as their madness makes them impetuous rather than skilful.

1d20+15=23 - B8 v Rusty. Miss
1d20+15=21 - B12 v Rusty. Miss
1d20+15=20 - B10 v Dorvin. Miss

For the most part the new attacks do nothing but make the floor slimey with discharged bombards, but for three of the companions, the splashing attack makes them turn murderous eyes on their friends. Nayce, Quillan and Rusty grip their weapons and turn viciously on their allies.

Incomers all use Murderous Bombard (Will) (on hit 5 ongoing poison and dominated - se both)
1d20+13=19 - B15 v Amenephus. Miss
1d20+13=31 - B16 v Quillan. Hits. 5 ongoing poison and dominated (se both)

Isari readily fells a bombardier as yet more derro pound through the doors, all sense of tactics lost as they fire relentlessly at the companions, trying to clear a path to Abelard.

Reavers 15, 17 and 19 double move. Reavers 16 and 18 fire at Abelard.
1d20+13=18. R16 v Abelard. Miss
1d20+12=28. R18 v Abelard. Hits. 5 poison and 5 untyped damage

Is there a way I can use the periapt of cascading health to shake the domination? It requires a minor action, so I'm thinking not, but let me know.

I'm afraid not. Dominated automatically means dazed and that allows only one action, which is chosen by the dominator. Amenephus has a power that lets you make a save as free action, which he'll use next turn.

Rusty finds himself neck deep in slavering derro as Nayce pulls him forcibly into their midst.

Rusty, please take 10 damage.

Quillan spins and attacks the assassin, while Rusty extricates himself from the derro and hurls himself once more at the Fire Shepherd.

Remember, I put my Aegis of Shielding on Quillian last turn. Don't worry, I'll take it off once he saves. Also, damn it Rusty can't your Will of been a bit higher? EDIT Also, shouldn't Rusty's stats/defenses be a bit higher than that? Doesn't look like he added any of the ability bonuses for leveling up. Also, his Reflex and Will should be 16(+5 from level, +1 from Safewing Amulet) EDIT: Didn't specify who's sheet had mistakes.

Got it. If he clouts Nayce, damage will be suitably reduced. Edited above.

Post coming right up.

"Abelard ... I am ... sorry!"

The dragonborn attacks the venerable creature once again.

OOC:

Charge Abelard : 1d20 + 17 ⇒ (15) + 17 = 32
Damage : 1d10 + 10 ⇒ (9) + 10 = 19

Save vs poison 1d20 ⇒ 1
Save vs dominated 1d20 ⇒ 12

Rusty - it's only one save for both conditions. I'm sorry, but I really have to take the first one :(

Abelard continues to chant as the mighty blow hacks into him. Never pausing in the ritual he is enacting, he nods quietly, trying to sooth the distraught warrior.

The derro cackle gleefully as the blow falls on the Fire Shepherd.

1d20 + 13 ⇒ (16) + 13 = 292d10 + 10 ⇒ (2, 1) + 10 = 13
On a hit, R19, B12 and B8 grant CA to all my allies within 5 squares of me.. which would be everyone!

"Come on, let's have ye, ye wee freaks!" Dorvin yells as he smashes into the enemy ranks.

Dorvin smashes an encroaching derro into the ground and glowers at the remainder, defying them to attack him.

Amenephus remains serene and elects to wipe out a bombardier. As he does so, Rusty feels a saving grace wash towards him.

Sacred Flame (Ref). On hit, ally within 5 squares can make a saving throw or take 8 temp hp.
1d20+9=22 v R17. Hits.

The bombardiers converge on Dorvin and Isari, shortswords in hand. Only one blow lands on the doughty pair.

Acid flies towards Amenephus and Nayce, but so great is the confusion in the room that only stonework suffers.

Male Dwarf Avenger 9

Quillan charges Dorvin reluctantly, crying out warnings as he does so.

1d20 + 9 ⇒ (10) + 9 = 19 vs. Dorvin's AC for 1d12 + 6 ⇒ (2) + 6 = 8 damage.

Save 1d20 ⇒ 2

Still in the grip of the derro-inflicted delusion, Nayce plummets towards Abelard, adding to the confusion around the Fire Shepherd.

Isari's instinctive response turns one of the derro into a block of ice which crashes to the ground and shatters into fragments. Ignoring the mayhem around, the swordmage leaps through space and demolishes another of the Forsaken as he lands.

The last two reavers stab valiantly at Abelard. Only one blade makes any impact on the Fire Shepherd.

- 1d20 + 16 ⇒ (4) + 16 = 20 vs. AC
- 1d20 + 16 ⇒ (15) + 16 = 31 vs. AC
- 3d12 + 11 ⇒ (11, 7, 1) + 11 = 30 damage and Quillan gains +5 athletics, +2 speed, and +2 damage for the rest of the encounter.
-- Brutal Damage Reroll: 18 + 1d12 + 11 ⇒ 18 + (7) + 11 = 36 total damage

Current HP: 31/80

Another derro drops as Quillan whirls into infuriated action.

Rusty

Spoiler:
See above. Cleave on Abelard, residual damage to Nayce.

Dorvin - post at will.

Furnace Room MAP

DORVIN's current effects:
Encouraging Stance: - Effect: Until the stance ends, when you hit with a melee attack, choose a bloodied ally within 5 squares of you. That ally gains temporary hit points equal to 5 + your Charisma modifier.
Bravura Presence: - You can choose to grant the temporary hit points when you miss with a melee attack, but that grants the target of the attack combat advantage against you until the end of your next turn.

Rusty - 5 ongoing poison and dominated (se both)
Dorvin - BLOODIED?; second wind used

Amenephus - 44/66hp/9/10 surges; Used second wind;
Abelard: 142/256
B16
B17 - under Isari's Aegis
B21
Isari
R15
R16
Nayce
Quillan - BLOODIED; +5 Athletics, +2 speed and +2 damage to end encounter

Yes, Bloodied, but with 12 temp hp. Basic attack vs B12.
1d20 + 13 ⇒ (11) + 13 = 241d10 + 7 ⇒ (8) + 7 = 15
If that hits, Quillan or Isari gains 5 temp hp. If that eliminates him, move to F11.

"Ye got a death wish?" Dorvin asks the derro rhetorically as he swings his axe in a figure of eight.

Dorvin's question goes unanswered as another Forsaken body crashes to the floor.

Quillan's probably in worse shape than Nayce, but it's your call who gets the 5hp.

Yo, Quillan, have 5 temp hp.

OOC:

Standard : Cleave against Abelard
Attack 1d20 + 16 ⇒ (4) + 16 = 20 vs AC.
Damage 1d10 + 10 ⇒ (1) + 10 = 11
If I hit, 5 damage against Nayce.

Save 1d20 ⇒ 12

Rusty manages to miss Abelard and to the relief of the entire party, finally frees himself of the poison warping his perception.

The bombardiers shift around Dorvin and stab viciously at the dwarf with shortswords. One blade digs deep, while the other strikes nothing but floor.

1d20+15=35. B16 v Dorvin. Crit. 9 plus 6 for CA - 15
1d20+15=16. B17 v Dorvin. Miss.
talk about extremes of rolling.
15 damage to Dorvin
