Khayal Bin Haleen |

perception to hear Paige's yelling: 1d20 + 6 - 10 ⇒ (9) + 6 - 10 = 5
Khayal wakes with a start but it is too late for the surprise round.

GM_Pace |

Hajar shouted the alarm, and Yazi charged the bone tube floating in air. (You can take only a standard action on your turn, and you cannot draw a weapon unless you possess the Quick Draw feat. Where's Yazi's BAB? On her MythWeavers sheet.)
Yazi charging, unarmed attack: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (17) + 5 = 22 (Whattdya know?) 50% miss chance: 1d100 ⇒ 64 (Uh-oh.) Dmg: 1d3 ⇒ 2 (Nonlethal)
Surprisingly, her fist manages to connect with the unseen thief's body.
Paige threw her bowl of breakfast. (Out of order; I know, spent too much time looking up Yazi's charge against an invisible foe and got distracted.)
Ranged touch attack with a range increment of 10 feet: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (11) + 6 = 17 (Miss)
(Does Bartan wake up? DC 5 Perception, just like Khayal, just don't roll a 1. Or have the Sound Sleeper feat along with Snores Like a Buffalo feat.)
ROUND ONE
Init:
Bartan: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (12) + 4 = 16 (Still asleep?)
Hajar: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (5) + 1 = 6
Khayal: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (20) + 6 = 26
Yazi: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (16) + 2 = 18 (–2 penalty to your AC this round)
Paige: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (4) + 2 = 6
Monsters: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (6) + 9 = 15
(Khayal, Yazi, Bartan, Monsters, Hajar, Paige)

GM_Pace |

(I'm using the "If you are able to take only a standard action on your turn, you can still charge, but you are only allowed to move up to your speed (instead of up to double your speed) and you cannot draw a weapon unless you possess the Quick Draw feat. You can't use this option unless you are restricted to taking only a standard action on your turn." right out of the PRD on Combat. Surprise round is only a standard action.)

GM_Pace |

Yazi drinks her potion of see invisibility, knowing that if Zayifid attacked, he'd lose his advantage.
Spiked Gauntlet AoO with Sneak Atk (and Invisible): 1d20 + 13 + 2 ⇒ (6) + 13 + 2 = 21 Dmg: 1d3 + 3d6 ⇒ (2) + (6, 2, 5) = 15 (Nonlethal)
But a fist rammed into her anyway.
The geniekin appears behind Bartan, with Yazi beside him, the man stepping back from the fisticuffs. "You lot really are foolhardy." Zayifid declares. "Didn't you hear me tell you the traps reset after a day in here? And you chose to take a nap! It's almost time, and I'm not taking the chance the Scroll will be destroyed with you." Tucking the bone scroll into his green jacket, the red-head disappears again. (Invisible on the Encounter Map with a dotted square, so Yazi can still "see" him.)
(Hajar, Paige)

Hajar nar Jundi |

Hajar says You'll not escape this lair with that Scroll Zayifid! and he moves to block the stairs going up. Movement reflected on the map

GM_Pace |

All you see is four sandstone sculptures chiseled into the forms of huge angry faces in random places around the room. From before, what you see is that the gnolls' weapons are still in their scabbards, for the most part, but something has ripped the bodies apart, ruining the armor. Several of the gnolls...have unusual looks of terror on their faces. As if they had been frozen in place.
ROUND TWO
Init:
Bartan: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (6) + 4 = 10
Hajar: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (13) + 1 = 14
Khayal: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (18) + 6 = 24
Yazi: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (12) + 2 = 14
Paige: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (8) + 2 = 10
Monsters: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (11) + 9 = 20
(Khayal, Monsters, Hajar, Yazi, Paige, Bartan)

Khayal Bin Haleen |

Khayal rips into where he last saw the man hoping to strike a hit.
kukri: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (14) + 11 = 251d4 + 8 ⇒ (1) + 8 = 9miss?: 1d100 ⇒ 81

confirm: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (15) + 6 = 211d4 + 8 ⇒ (3) + 8 = 11

Hajar nar Jundi |

Hajar is currently blocking the exit....at least the exit up

GM_Pace |

Khayal heard some grunts as his blades connected more than once. (Did not confirm.)
"Huh! Ah! Brutes! Think of a higher cause for once! Like - mine!" calls out a disembodied voice.
You feel somebody go by you quickly enough to feel the breeze made by their passing.
Khayal's blades hit Zayifid, and, bleeding, the man squeezed past the sandstone statue and the stone benches and fountain to near where Hajar is standing. He's obviously going for the exit.
A trail of splattered blood starts just before the sandstone monument next to Bartan's sleeping area and going north-northeast between Paige and the water fountain.
(Hajar, Yazi, Paige, Bartan)

Hajar nar Jundi |

I hope Hajar can do this...
Hajar readies himself to block Zayifid at the exit. Bull rush???
CMB: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (11) + 8 = 19

Bartan Harrowborn |

Bartan moves toward the exit and, seeing that Hajar is engaged with the invisible enemy Percep: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (10) + 9 = 19 not to mention the blood trail, he pulls a card, charges it with a shocking grasp spell, and hurls it at the square of the invisible genie-dude.
miss chance, high is good: 1d100 ⇒ 31
No need to type up any more.
But it misses.

"Oi! Get back here you thievin bastard!" Yazi shouts angrily as she runs after the jann that only she can see, new axe raised and ready.
Tomb Axe? Life Stealer? Needs better name.: 1d20 + 6 + 5 + 2 ⇒ (20) + 6 + 5 + 2 = 33
Damage (Magic, Slashing): 1d12 + 7 + 6 + 2 + 2 ⇒ (8) + 7 + 6 + 2 + 2 = 25
Confirm: 1d20 + 6 + 5 + 2 ⇒ (13) + 6 + 5 + 2 = 26
Critical: 2d12 + 14 + 12 + 4 + 4 ⇒ (1, 8) + 14 + 12 + 4 + 4 = 43
So 68 if confirmed + a Negative Level for Zappy.
Life Stealer (Temporary HP): 1d6 ⇒ 2
Rage: 15/16

GM_Pace |

Hajar blocks the staircase, Yazi puts her new black axe to good use, Paige jumps at the invisible assailant, and Bartan fudges a playing card.
Yazi's axe opens up Zayifid's back from left to right and rib to collarbone, and the janni falls into Hajar's arms as he becomes visible to the others. Coughing blood, Zayifid grabs Hajar's fullplate as he stares at him and whispers "Too late for second chances. Wish for me, Vardishal. Wish for us all...to be...back together..." The last comes out as the genie spy's death rattle. The red head's hands leave a bloody smear on the paladin's armor as he slumps forward. (Yazi's attack went past Zayifid's CON.)
The spirit of the former Templar of the Five Winds can only say Zayifid...oh Zayifid, my brother...
ROUND THREE
Init:
Bartan: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (10) + 4 = 14
Hajar: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (8) + 1 = 9
Khayal: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (6) + 6 = 12
Yazi: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (1) + 2 = 3
Paige: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (14) + 2 = 16
Monsters: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (5) + 9 = 14
(Paige, Bartan, Monsters, Khayal, Hajar, Yazi)

GM_Pace |

Something like a gong sounds in the garden room. The mouths of the four monolithic sandstone heads in the room yawn open to belch gouts of fire and smoke! (Like a snow-blower on a financially-strapped West Virginia ski slope in a dry January.)
Those are really big summoning spells. Summon Monster V sized.
Bulbous creatures with red, yellow, and purple colors start to appear among the smoke and flickers of flame.
(Hajar, Yazi)

Bartan Harrowborn |

Spellcraft: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (16) + 11 = 27
"There are creatures being summoned! Let's hope they cannot follow us from this room!"

Khayal Bin Haleen |

I think Khayal is up as well. how much of our gear is laying around?
Khayal steps over and attacks the nearest creature forming out of the air.
Kukri: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (13) + 11 = 241d4 + 8 ⇒ (3) + 8 = 11
Kukri: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (5) + 11 = 161d4 + 8 ⇒ (4) + 8 = 12
Kukri: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (4) + 6 = 101d4 + 8 ⇒ (3) + 8 = 11
Kukri: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (12) + 6 = 181d4 + 8 ⇒ (2) + 8 = 10

Bartan Harrowborn |

Bartan carries little, would it be reasonable that he grabbed his small pack before running? Otherwise... spellbook and cards and such, he'll NEED to go back.

Hajar nar Jundi |

Hajar hauls zayifid's corpse up the stairs shouting Hurry! The guardians are forming

Khayal Bin Haleen |

his new armor is light because it is mithril and can therefore be slept in. Khayal has his kukris and "worn" gear as well. His backpack, supplies and old set of armor are left behind.

GM_Pace |

food or fight red: 1d20 ⇒ 12
food or fight purple: 1d20 ⇒ 14
food or fight normal: 1d20 ⇒ 1
yellow doesn't count
Khayal's moving blades (AoO since his stuff is still here) twice hit the monstrosity in the air. The others scrambled up the stairs.
ROUND FOUR
Init:
Bartan: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (8) + 4 = 12
Hajar: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (7) + 1 = 8
Khayal: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (13) + 6 = 19 Saying he was going to move
Yazi: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (17) + 2 = 19
Paige: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (3) + 2 = 5
Monsters: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (9) + 5 = 14
(Yazi, Khayal, Monsters, Bartan, Hajar, Paige)
(Encounter Map updated.)

Khayal Bin Haleen |

Khayal will double move up the stairs. Will take one AOO, black line is movement. Assumed the benches were roughly equivalent to a fallen log in costing an extra 5 feet of movement to cross.

GM_Pace |

Khayal runs.
Claw AoO: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (12) + 9 = 21
Claw AoO: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (13) + 9 = 22
Claw AoO: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (20) + 9 = 29 Confirm?: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (11) + 9 = 20 No, Dmg: 1d4 + 2 ⇒ (3) + 2 = 5
Claw AoO: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (10) + 9 = 19
The fighter can feel the creature staring at his back as he retreats.
The other extraplanar beasts, consisting of many tangled legs, a bulging body of hot-to-the-touch, puffed flesh floating at head-level, and a mouth filled with sharp fangs, attack the corpses in the garden, ripping into them with their many claws, and lifting the chunks to their mouths.
Khayal gets past Hajar on the stairs. Everyone huddled on the stairs, the stone making for tight quarters, while Paige cast her spell.
(Did anybody else want to re-position on the Encounter Map before I roll the next round?)

Hajar nar Jundi |

Ok, Paige and Bartan move up the stairs with Khayal! Yazi will cover the retreat and I will carry Zayifid. Hajar says, struggling with the weight of the dead once genie.
