Adelita waits for Kerda to turn back to her sneaking then pokes out her tongue, shrugs and heads back to Clydwell. She hovers uncertainly.
"Umm. Clyd. I don't have to like, be Iomedae's puppet if I accept your blessing do I? I don't really know anything about her. Or him?"
In a gentle tone, Clydwell keeps it brief. "Iomedae is the Light of the Sword. She is the goddess of righteous valor, justice, and honor. As long as you do not fight on the side of evil, she... and I will have no quarrel with you." There is no intensity to his voice. It's not a threat or a challenge. It's just calm fact.
"Her blessings are the source of my power and if we are to work together, you should accept them, for I offer them freely and without reservation."
The big half-orc steps up to Adelita and speaks aloud, his hand giving off a soft orange glow as he does. "For Victory, for the Heart." This he says with intensity.
Clydwell stands calmly by with his outstretched hand aglow, waiting patiently for Adelita to accept the blessing.
Shotaro Kudo
Hearing conversation, Shotaro wanders close. "If you don't trust her that badly, then just search her when she gets back. If she'll let you." he says. "Now can someone point me to the door so I can enter? I'm thinking a fish fry sounds delicious right about now and I want to get inside before it rains or something."
Roman Stonefitter
Just waiting on whether or not my perception detected anything worrisome before I try to force open this door.
Calling over to Shotaro "Door's over zis way!"
if needed to open:
Disable Device: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (10) + 5 = 15
Strength: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (7) + 2 = 9
Kerda the Rogue
As long as nothing is heard, Kerda will attempt to open her door quietly, picking it if necessary.
Disable Device: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (5) + 9 = 14
Adelita Tain
"My thanks Clydwell" Adelita intones, the first time she has been serious since you met.
Then, as the dwarf heads to the door, Adelita follows behind, the faint szching of her longspear accompanying her steps. She adjusts her grip to hold it at shoulder level, above and to the side of the dwarf's head.
Her voice is a deep whisper, all the youthful glee you are used to replaced with grim determination.
"I'm with you Ro..."
Yoska Aluther
Man! So many postings! Can't a man sleep in on his days off? Damn!
"I shall take the blessing if you don't mind", chimes Yoska.
The wizard then walks Shotaro, pointing out any trippable objects in their path.
Shotaro Kudo
Whoo! Someone is actually helping the blind man.
You'll notice that Shotaro is surprisingly good at avoiding tripping on objects. His foot would barely touch it before suddenly he shifts his footing and steps around it.
Also, being that close you can see his hands have the callouses of a man who has fought using his hands as often as his spear. His body is in good condition and you're pretty sure he'd be an amazing warrior if he wasn't blind. Still, despite his balance and relative swiftness of foot, he needs help with directions.
You can also make a DC 20 perception check on Shotaro.
You'll notice that while difficult to spot, his cane actually hides a sword!
Shotaro gladly accepts your assistance to the door, and he tenses at the door, opening his senses to be ready for danger.
Yoska Aluther
Perception: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (3) + 2 = 5
Yoska whispers, realizing he doesn't need to speak loudly.
"I have read of men like you. People who have lozt one zenze to have the other four zensez compenzate. Your name suggests a Tian origin. Iz it true?."
Shotaro Kudo
Shotaro nods. "Yes. I am from a land in Tian Xia called Minkai." he says. "My family were silk traders. We were crossing over the crown of the world... when I lost my sight."
He sighs. "But I was fortunate. In Magnimar I received special training that taught me to use my other senses better than they could ever have been with my eyes. Vildeis, her priests saved me from a pathetic ditch and gave me the means and volition to truly live again."
PixiePym
sorry for late reply, i fell asleep.
For those of you by the front door, you can hear the sound of a dog barking as well as a harsh "Shut up you filthy mut!" and it will go silent
The side doors you hear a rumbling snore, a dog barking sometimes followed by a loud "Shut up" as well as the protest of the walkway under you.
Both of you pick the locks and find different outcomes.
Shotaro Kudo
Initiative?: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (14) + 3 = 17
Shotaro, who was ready to walk into the room, tilts his head at the sound of the dog as the door opens. The dog comes hurtling towards him, and he spins out of Yoska's grip, chopping with his bare hand and striking the dog as it passes by where he used to be.
Standard action to strike and making a 5ft step to the side so the dog doesn't crash into me. I have Improved Unarmed Strike so I don't provoke an AoO, and I can do lethal damage.
Strike!: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (10) + 5 = 15
Damage: 1d3 + 4 ⇒ (2) + 4 = 6
It's an okay amount of damage. Dogs aren't that tough, are they?

I didnt put you in init because the dog didnt attack, but if you want to attack i can place everyone in init
Shotaro Kudo
Oh! Jeez I'm sorry it sounded like it was attacking the way you described it! If it's not then I won't hit it. It's just that when an angry animal flings itself at you snarling, it's kinda... a giveaway that it's attacking.
Kerda the Rogue
When Kerda realizes the door won't open, she briefly considers working on the hinges before a loud racket from around front stops her. Kerda frowns and pulls out her dagger. The holy men blew our cover, didn't they?
Quite annoyed, Kerda quickly moves back around the building to see what is going on.

Can only make a move or an attack action in a surprise round lol, it made its move action
Shotaro Kudo
Well it could do a partial charge as a standard action, if it wanted to take a bite at one of us. I'll continue my actions on the normal initiative, since Shotaro at least thinks it's aggressive.
Adelita Tain
"Tell the mutt to shut up! If it's well trained it might just listen." Adelita offers by way of "useful advice'.
Have moved Adelita to Roman's side, though not with her 'spear poking over his head, as the angle is too acute. She can hear the dog though.

Following on his brother's hint...
"It counts as an unprovoked attack, and we haven't bothered to see if the break-in was even necessary. Maybe we can still calm all of this down, and if somebody is good with animals perhaps we can spare the dog. Besides, if there's information to be had here, the dead cannot deliver it effectively."
Yoska Aluther
The young wizard attempts to pull the blind man away from the dog.
"No! Get away!"

Clydwell speaks sternly to the others. "So, we're breaking in and attacking the guard dog?""
In response to the chaos and Clydwell's question, Adelita shrugs and says with as much aplomb as she can muster given the barking, spearing and hustling around her:
"I'm not. Yet. But I might. If more dogs come. Or men. Men or women. With weapons. Or tentacl'd things."
Waiting on PixiePym to explain what is going on - I'm pretty confused at this stage. Did Shotaru go ahead with his strike? Roman seems to have speared the dog. Is it initiative?
PixiePym
The dog, having taken a heavy blow lays there whispering but completely unconscious.
As you open the door fully, A single desk sits in the middle of this room, a moldy chair pushed up against the far side. A small pile of ratty furs and straw is heaped under the table. The smell of fish and wet dog populate this room

Argil rolls his eyes a bit and steps closer to the door.
"Alright then, I think that's enough pummeling first, and asking questions later. Let's get to the second part now."
He carefully leans his head into the doorway and scans more carefully for any traps or ambushes.
Peception: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (5) + 6 = 11
After, he backs away and turns to his companions.
"I'm pretty sure I heard a voice in there before. Can one of you poke your head in, announce our presence, and explain that we had a misunderstanding with the dog and mean no harm? I think it would be better not coming from the scariest-looking half-orc in the land."

Clydwell gladly steps forward into the doorway and raises his voice, projecting into the building.
"I beg your pardon, but my companion accidentally hit your dog. He is blind and was spooked into striking it. If you could come to the door, I'd like to make amends."
Diplomacy: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (4) + 10 = 14 Good start...
Adelita Tain
Adelita waits for a reponse, whispering to the party.
"Well, I think Shotaru should have. I mean, he did knock the dog out. And it might come off as neighbourly if the harmless blind man calls out to tell "them" their dog is sick."
Shotaro Kudo
Shotaro will tilt his head several ways, crouching down hesitantly to touch the side of the dog. "Ah. Damn." he says aloud. "I thought this was a wild animal!"
He checks to make sure it's breathing. "Excuse me!?" Shotaro shouts. "I accidentally hurt your dog! Is anyone there?"
He will rise, pushing off with his cane. "I'm sorry, everyone. I think I might have overreacted."
Kerda the Rogue
Kerda keeps her knives ready, though hidden just under the hem of her sleeves. This group is jumpier than an urchin doing his first heist.
PixiePym
Anyone who can see inside the door sees about 3 little human faces poking out of the inside door on the right, soon as they are seen the door slams shut with a thud (you can clearly see they are children).
"The hell with this place, im sleeping in the caravan" Huffs the dwarf in full retreat to the carriage
Yoska Aluther
Yoska looks annoyed as the dwarven driver walked back to the carriage.
"Perhaps one of the SAFE STOPZ indictated on zhe map would have been a better place to spend the night, Master Dwarf!" The wizard in a raised aggravated tone.
Adelita Tain
Adelita knocks on the door.
"Hello? Children? Could you please get your mother or father or sister or brother to come to the front door?"
She favours the rest of the party with her trademark grin as if to say "there. all better"

With what is hopefully a joking tone I say to Argil "Your particular brand of beauty is an acquired taste vith goblins but a good heart vins dere trust." striding over to the door they ducked into "Hey, little ones. Ve are not here to cause harm. Vhy don't you come out. I've got an apple you can share. Might have some nuts as vell." motioning to the other doors "Vhy don't you guys check those over dere."

Clydwell frowns at the situation at hand. No adults? Only children? Who knows, maybe they need help.
With that, the half-orc steps into the room with the others, though he still looks a bit uncomfortable.
"Should we... help them?"
I think with a big group like this, we should pick someone as the scout/lead and just have them pick the path to take and we'll follow. Roman, maybe? Probably not the blind guy at least. Clydwell would be happy to do that, but he'd be eating traps with his face.
Adelita Tain
Adelita frowns.
"Maybe we just saved them from a bad dog?"
I vote Yoska be the face (and definitely with regards to waifs/children) - his high Charisma, lack of discernible weapons and humanity help...
Shotaro Kudo
I make an excellent scout! The problem is I use USMC scouting techniques: I know there are bad guys there when they start shooting me. :p
Shotaro sniffs the air around the dog. Does the dog smell healthy or is it filthy or sick?
