GM Fuzzfoot |

Malthu delays, and more orcs come charging in!
Round 4: (Bold may act)
Malthu
Shivarra
Sam
Grod
Blue Orc
Orange Orc
Pink Orc
Black Bombadier

Dr Samuel Ballard |

Shot on Pink: 1d20 + 5 + 2 ⇒ (16) + 5 + 2 = 23
Damage: 1d6 + 2 ⇒ (3) + 2 = 5
Refreshing Archaeologist's luck and firing into the group of orcs.
Sam can do nothing but keep firing. No matter what he just has to keep...on...firing...

GM Fuzzfoot |

Will: 1d20 - 1 ⇒ (2) - 1 = 1
The orcs rush forward. Blue gets the evil eye as he closes, and then takes a longspear to the chest. Pink also closes the gap and swings his falchion at the barricade.
Attack: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (11) + 5 = 16
Damage: 2d4 + 4 ⇒ (4, 4) + 4 = 12
The black orc moves forward and light a fuse.

Yverstrix Halfbloodsson |

Yverstrix grits his teeth and raises his hammer, setting against the rush and having the pink orc impale himself on the wicked spike.
Readied Lucerne Hammer: 1d20 + 8 + 3 ⇒ (9) + 8 + 3 = 20 for 1d12 + 9 + 2 ⇒ (1) + 9 + 2 = 12
He then looks past the front rank in response to Malthu's cry, "I'm after cutting myself a path, but it'll be taking time."
I'm assuming I can't hurl an axe or anything at the orc in black since my Readied action just triggered, shifting my initiative?

GM Fuzzfoot |

Yes - blue is fatally wounded, but still hanging in there. Yes, Yver - initiative moved due to readied action. Sorry - forgot to post the init block, but Malthu and Yver had the right of it!
Round 5: (Bold may act)
Malthu
Shivarra
Sam
Grod
Yverstrix
Blue Orc (Evil Eye (-2 to saves), 11 dmg, bleeding, staggered)
Orange Orc
Pink Orc (17 dmg, bleeding, staggered)
Black Bombadier

GM Fuzzfoot |

Grod finishes off pink.
Round 5: (Bold may act)
Malthu
Shivarra
Sam
Grod
Yverstrix
Blue Orc (Evil Eye (-2 to saves), 14 dmg, bleeding, staggered)
Orange Orc
Black Bombadier

Dr Samuel Ballard |

Seeing a new threat Sam switches to the bomb-carrying orc and fires again.
Attack: 1d20 + 5 + 2 ⇒ (20) + 5 + 2 = 27
Confirm: 1d20 + 5 + 2 ⇒ (15) + 5 + 2 = 22
Damage: 1d6 + 2 ⇒ (5) + 2 = 7
Additional damage: 2d6 + 4 ⇒ (3, 5) + 4 = 12
Nice time for a crit!

GM Fuzzfoot |

1d3 ⇒ 3
The bomber takes a missile to the chest, and another to the head, and is reeling from the damage, which is sure to be fatal. Staggered and bleeding, it throws the bomb and does nothing else. The bomb seems to have no problem landing right between you, despite the long distance thrown.
Orange moves in, and attacks the wall.
Attack vs AC 5: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (7) + 5 = 12
Damage vs Hardness 5: 2d4 + 4 - 5 ⇒ (3, 1) + 4 - 5 = 3

GM Fuzzfoot |

Malthu is not close enough, but can move closer to blue and stab him with the longspear. It is enough to drop him.
Round 6: (Bold may act)
Malthu
Shivarra
Sam
Grod
Yverstrix
Orange Orc
Black Bombadier (25 dmg, bleeding, staggered)

Grod the Cunning |

Too late to shoot the black-clad bomber, Grod sees the bomb sail through the air toward his position. He drops his crossbow, scoops up the bomb, and flings it back as fast as he can.
Do I need any sort of roll? I'm not really throwing it at anything, just *away*, so I wouldn't think I'd need an attack roll.

GM Fuzzfoot |

Grod picks up the bomb and throws it... and it boomerangs back to land in its same position.

Dr Samuel Ballard |

What the..?! Sam exclaims in disbelief as the bomb seems to defy logic and land exactly where it did just a moment ago.
He backs away from the expected blast but makes sure to fire off another shot nonetheless.
Shot on Black: 1d20 + 5 + 2 ⇒ (6) + 5 + 2 = 13
Damage: 1d6 + 2 ⇒ (2) + 2 = 4

Yverstrix Halfbloodsson |

Yver watches the bomb fly, then turns his attention to the bomber..and the foolish orc that stands between him and his target. He snarls and plants his feet, swings his hammer with every ounce of his rage-filled strength, and smiling when he hears the sickening thud as it impacts the orc's ribs.
Lucerne Hammer (PA v Orange): 1d20 + 7 + 2 ⇒ (9) + 7 + 2 = 18 for 1d12 + 12 + 2 ⇒ (10) + 12 + 2 = 24
Assuming Orange is staggered or down..
Yver then leaps over the barricade and rushes toward the bomber, He won't be after throwing any more of those...

GM Fuzzfoot |

Orange is flattened, and Yver moves toward the bomber.
OK, I may have taken a bit of liberty with exactly how that bomb works...
Round 6: (Bold may act)
Malthu
Shivarra
Sam
Grod
Yverstrix
Black Bombadier (25 dmg, bleeding, staggered)

Shivarra |

Much like everyone else, the witch dives away from the bomb.
Truth be told, it strains credibility a little for the enemies of their caliber to have this kind of enchanted consumables. Well, maybe if it ends up being one of a kind trump card, but in this case they blew it using that thing here.

GM Fuzzfoot |

Due to Grod's warning, Omast jumps out of the way just before the bomb explodes. It does some additional damage to the barricade but not to anyone else.
Damage: 2d6 ⇒ (1, 5) = 6
Seeing Yver coming, the orc pulls out his falchion with some difficulty.
Round 7: (Bold may act)
Malthu
Shivarra
Sam
Grod
Yverstrix
Black Bombadier (25 dmg, bleeding, staggered)

Grod the Cunning |

Grod returns to the barricade, ready for more, picking up his crossbow on the way.
Dropped my crossbow to throw the bomb back, so it was near the center of the explosion. I'm hoping that its hardness (What is the hardness of mundane weapons?) kept it from taking enough damage to be broken.

GM Fuzzfoot |

Since I was just playing with you, we can simply say that the crossbow is fine. :)

Yverstrix Halfbloodsson |

Yverstrix laughs, his voice echoing with a cruel edge, "Aye, I'd draw steel too, if I were you. Too bad I've got reach on you."
With that, he plants his feet and swings the long hammer at the orc, trying to crush its chest.
Lucerne Hammer (PA, Raging, FE): 1d20 + 7 + 2 ⇒ (11) + 7 + 2 = 20 for 1d12 + 12 + 2 ⇒ (8) + 12 + 2 = 22

GM Fuzzfoot |

Since neither Sam nor Shivarra has chimed in, we'll just assume they are delaying for now.
Yver crushes the remain life out of the bomber.
Just then, 9 more orcs come charging in. 6 of them pick up the large battering ram.
Round 8: (Bold may act)
Malthu
Shivarra
Sam
Grod
Yverstrix
Orcs

Dr Samuel Ballard |

Apologies, very busy weekend, Time is definitely squeezed at this time of year.
Th...there's so many of them! the doctor gulps. Where's our army!!?
Attack: 1d20 + 5 + 2 ⇒ (13) + 5 + 2 = 20
Damage: 1d6 + 2 ⇒ (6) + 2 = 8

Grod the Cunning |

Grod glances toward the doctor as he loads another bolt in his crossbow. "Keep. Shooting." he says, biting off each word. Then he follows his own advice and fires another bolt at one of the ram-carriers. Purple
Attack: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (6) + 3 = 9
Damage: 1d8 ⇒ 8

Yverstrix Halfbloodsson |

Yver snarls at the newcomers, rushing forward and raising the hammer like a lance, hoping to impale one of the lead orcs on it, Let's be seeing them charge over the corpse of one of their own...
Attacking Orange
Lucerne Hammer (PA, FE): 1d20 + 7 + 3 ⇒ (19) + 7 + 3 = 29 for 1d12 + 12 + 2 ⇒ (12) + 12 + 2 = 26
Thought about trying for the will save to back off, but I've only got 2 rounds of rage left after this, figure I need to be laying down the hurt

GM Fuzzfoot |

While Malthu and Shivarra prepare for the attack, the others take a more proactive approach. Omast shakes his head as Yverstrix barrels in, but he can't argue with the results as the lucerne hammer turns an orc into a puddle of goo.
It does also effectively stop their charge.
Red swings at Yverstrix with a falchion.
Attack: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (18) + 5 = 23
Crit confirm?: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (14) + 5 = 19
Damage: 4d4 + 8 ⇒ (3, 1, 2, 4) + 8 = 18
Teal moves forward to flank Yver, but swings his blade high.
Attack: 1d20 + 5 + 2 ⇒ (6) + 5 + 2 = 13
Will Save: 1d20 - 1 ⇒ (13) - 1 = 12
Blue moves into place to grab the last spot on the battering ram (allowing Yver an AoO, I believe).
Round 9: (Bold may act)
Malthu
Shivarra
Sam
Grod
Yverstrix(18 dmg) + round 7 AoO pending vs blue
Orcs: Red (8 dmg), Teal (Evil Eye Hexed), Blue, Purple, Green, Pink. Yellow, Cyan

Yverstrix Halfbloodsson |

AoO: 1d20 + 7 + 3 ⇒ (6) + 7 + 3 = 16 for 1d12 + 12 + 2 ⇒ (6) + 12 + 2 = 20

Yverstrix Halfbloodsson |

Also: ouch. Just lost my post on the phone -- will try again from home on a less annoying device for typing...

Grod the Cunning |

Attack: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (2) + 3 = 5
Damage: 1d8 ⇒ 8
Snarling as he misses again, Grod whistles and makes a quick gesture at the nearest orc. Teal? Aquamarine? Whatever. In response, Cera leaps he barricade and attacks the orc., as Grod drops his crossbow and follows with his greatsword. Standard to attack with crossbow, then a Move to draw greatsword and move up.
Attack: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (12) + 3 = 15
Damage: 1d8 + 6 ⇒ (4) + 6 = 10

Dr Samuel Ballard |

Shot on Purple: 1d20 + 5 + 2 ⇒ (7) + 5 + 2 = 14
Damage: 1d6 + 2 ⇒ (3) + 2 = 5
Sam can do nothing but continue to fire. He sees Yver almost get cut down and shudders inwardly, wondering when it might be that they have to flee.

Shivarra |

"Get back to cover, you numbskulls!" the annoyed witch hollers. Hexing the nearst orc with misfortune, she rushes over to the bard. "The healing wand, now!"
Teal rerolls all d20s and takes worse result for a round, Will DC16 to negate (he also has -2 to all saves).
Considering that it seems to be the last wave, I really question the wisdom of rushing out to protect the barricade as opposed to sacrificing it to save hitpoints for later battles. Especially given that you deny me any chance to make your job easier, since the only enemies in range I could attempt to lock down and put out of the fight until the rest are mopped up are also those you're attacking anyway. Suppose I'll retrieve the wand for now since I've got free actions due to that.

Yverstrix Halfbloodsson |

See earlier comment about rage and thinking that being fatigued would not be very useful..
Yver swings his hammer at the orc grabbing the ram, trying to break his arms, or better, crush his chest, to keep the ram at bay... And then the pain washes over him, giving him a moment of cold weakness even as his hatred and anger give him strength. That's after being a lot of bleeding I'm doing... . He quickly steps back out of the flank, giving himself room to swing his hammer into the chest of the orc that stabbed him.
v red
Lucerne Hammer (PA, FE): 1d20 + 7 + 3 ⇒ (7) + 7 + 3 = 17 for 1d12 + 12 + 2 ⇒ (7) + 12 + 2 = 21

Dr Samuel Ballard |

Let's just see how it plays out and we can have a go at eachother later. A couple of lucky rolls on the enemy side and it might be a moot point. If Yver and Grod go down, it's over.

GM Fuzzfoot |

If it makes you feel any better, neither of the other two groups could keep themselves back. The "classic" group almost TPKd 4 times, but they managed to survive!
Yverstrix crushes blue as he tries to help with the ram, and then destroys the red orc in retaliation for his injuries. Grod delivers a potentially fatal wound, and Sam scores a decent hit as well.
Seeing the battle has come to them, and no clear path to the barricade, the remaining orcs drop the battering ram and charge Grod and Yverstrix.
Teal Attack vs Grod: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (19) + 5 = 24
Try again (misfortune): 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (19) + 5 = 24
Crit Confirm?: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (14) + 5 = 19
Damage: 4d4 + 8 ⇒ (1, 4, 2, 1) + 8 = 16
Purple Attack vs Grod: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (5) + 5 = 10
Pink, green and yellow all close on Yver, who will get to make some AoO attacks (let's resolve that first!)
Cyan Attack vs Rhino: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (17) + 5 = 22
Damage: 2d4 + 4 ⇒ (4, 2) + 4 = 10
Round 9: (Bold may act)
Malthu
Shivarra
Sam
Grod (16 dmg) Rhino (10 dmg)
Yverstrix(18 dmg)
Orcs: Teal (10 dmg, staggered, bleeding, Evil Eye Hexed, Misfortune), Purple (5 dmg), Green, Pink. Yellow, Cyan

Yverstrix Halfbloodsson |

Seeing the orcs start to rush him, Yverstrix smiles grimly then swings his hammer at the lead as he tries to get inside his reach.
AoO v Pink: 1d20 + 7 + 3 ⇒ (20) + 7 + 3 = 30
Confirm: 1d20 + 7 + 3 ⇒ (4) + 7 + 3 = 14 Boo
Non-Critical Damage: 1d12 + 12 + 2 ⇒ (3) + 12 + 2 = 17
As a side note, another reason Yver's rushed them, beyond concerns about the ram, is that he has to in his rage -- and the attack rolls (this one notwithstanding) suggest he'd have failed his will save to not do this

GM Fuzzfoot |

Pink is crushed, but Yellow and Green get to take their attacks.
Green attacks Yver: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (6) + 5 = 11
Yellow attacks Yver: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (7) + 5 = 12
Round 10: (Bold may act)
Malthu
Shivarra
Sam
Grod (16 dmg) Rhino (10 dmg)
Yverstrix(18 dmg)
Orcs: Teal (10 dmg, staggered, bleeding, Evil Eye Hexed, Misfortune), Purple (5 dmg), Green, Yellow, Cyan

Grod the Cunning |

As Cera attacks the teal orc again, Grod attacks the one behind him Purple, then tells her to follow him, and steps toward the orcs menacing Yver.
Attack(Cera): 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (10) + 3 = 13
Damage: 1d8 + 6 ⇒ (1) + 6 = 7
Attack(Grod): 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (12) + 6 = 18
Damage: 2d6 + 10 ⇒ (2, 5) + 10 = 17
