While she tries to hide it, Riori grimaces and looks away from the heart devouring performed by the captain and first mate--especially the latter. She's served on the crew long enough to know to expect it at this point--a cost of seeking plunder with this crew. But with one leg of hers having been devoured by a shark, she is all too aware of what it feels like to be eaten.
She is more interested in the position they were defending and flies over to where they were standing to see where they had come from, and perhaps why they were there.

"I'll b' havin' just som' liquid lunch meself..." he says, and takes a swig of rum. Then, in case of more giants, he repeats the gurgling of magic potions from earlier.

The southwest wall of this building lies open to the elements. Several stones lie stacked together to create a low rampart with a clear view of the valley entrance. As best you can determine, they were positioned here to guard the entrance to the city.

"Unless we can lock 'em in somehow, I'd say better kill 'em now." So far the cyclopes have gone down pretty easy. But he'd like to avoid the big one-eyes catching them by surprise later on.

You have only penetrated a partially ruined building through the ruined wall. This building has a partial roof and is missing a chunk from its western half. There is a door on the east wall, where one of the cyclopes was headed when you felled him. It is at this door you now stand. The building is filled with debris, but there is nothing of interest here.

Dantes poises to cast a spell when the captain indicates it is time. When ordered, Dantes will cast monstrous physique II, taking on the form of a cyclops. First, he'll try the door in case it is unlocked and unbarred. If it doesn't open, he'll pound the door a couple of times and say "Hey, let me in!"

The door is unlocked and unbarred. A charnel stench fills this long, rectangular chamber, where the discarded carcass of a huge, unidentifiable beast lies on the floor. Three other exits leave the chamber, one on each wall (you enter through the west, and the exits go east, north, and south. The exit going east is only a single door; the others are double doors. Four cyclopes surround the carcass of the creature, butchering the body and preparing the meat for smoking. They are so engrossed in their work that they do not seem to notice you.

Chumtooth's harpoon slams into one of the wounded ones, striking again before it can even react to the first blow. It staggers under the assault, but remains on its feet. Dantes sends two magic missiles into the unblinded cyclops, and Faengrim follows up with a charge against it. Though the combined attack is strong, the beast refuses to fall. In fact, it levels an attack against Faengrim, swinging twice with its greataxe. Though the first swing results in a clean miss, the backswing catches the sailor hard! Faengrim takes 39 points of damage!
