Dain looks around the cavern, "It's a strange place to just leave all your...mmm...stuff." Dain takes the vials of oil and acid and puts them in his pack. He unwraps some of the food. How old does it seem?
Shall we continue to the west? Or head south?

"I think we found what I smelled in that direction. We can search to see if it killed anyone else, but I believe the other path is where we need to go to end the danger." Silas says as he looks down both tunnels.

The western tunnel dead ends suddenly, almost as if the tunneler gave up and later dug the southern tunnel.
Following the southern tunnel, the burrowed tunnel of newly carved earth suddenly ends, as it breaks into a very different-looking chamber. Rocks and dirt cover the smooth stone floor near the mouth of the tunnel. The area is about 30 feet wide and equally long. To the left, the chamber widens into an octagon-shaped area and plunges into a dark room to the right. From the octagon-shaped area, a narrow passage heads south. A steel door covered with runes and symbols stands slightly ajar on the north wall. Iron supports reinforce the stone walls and ceiling.

Tilver looks around the room, moving to the door to the north. He examines the door, but then peers inside the area.

Dain and Magill follow Tilver cautiously. As Tilver approaches the door, Dain says, "Careful, if that door closes, it might take a wish to open it." He examines the door closely before casting Detect Magic.
Perception: 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (18) + 12 = 30
He points at the door and moves his hand to trace the edge. "Looks like there was some sort of...uhhh...silvery seal here, but its been broken."
Cast Detect Magic and examine the door again.

Holys steps into the room, bidding the others follow.
Did not move beyond the doorway in case something happens - he will go far enough to see the obscured area, but if he sees any creature he will stop as soon as he does. So I did not move him beyond the doorway on the map as I'm not sure how far he gets.

Because, we're scared of the worst evils Ptolus has ever seen?
Tilver pulls out his lantern and snaps his fingers, lighting it instantly. "Well, what's the worst that can be inside? Just something that can corrupt us all for eternity..." He steps in through the doorway and shines the light inside.

Okay, you guys need to be a bit more careful when moving things on the map! Remember, Control-Z is your friend if you accidentally move the whole map fifty feet to the left.
I think we've been talking about two different doors, but never mind. I see you've moved to the door to the northwest. We'll deal with that. Don't forget the big area to the west with the funky ball-thing you haven't looked at yet.
Beyond the door lies a short passage and a stark chamber with the appearance of a vault or perhaps a prison. The walls and floor are bare. An arch in the north wall gives access to another chamber beyond. As Tilver steps in, he sees sudden motion from the north.

Tilver once again lances the area where the strange being hovers. It shifts and tatters as if its presence on Ptolus were constantly being shredded by an unseen wind. Then the loud report of Alakablam echoes through the ancient halls and the wraith recoils, struck by the magical lead ball.
Angered, it lunges once again at Tilver.
