Evindyl and Sir Esteban?

How is a sylph going to resist the lure of a place called "Skywatch" ... especially with a mystery surrounding it? Just not possible. Was a long road from Jalmeray to Skywatch, and it was on that very road that Evindyl met Fizz.

No chance meeting, they were for sure meant to be together; up to and certainly including Evein's first flight being an assist to his friend. Monks are used to falling, and practice, Fizz though, did not have this practice. His fall from the cliff face which gave way could have been pretty impactful ... but they laugh about it and call it the "trajectory adjustment" Evin gave him.

They stuck together, having found they made a heck of a scouting team, and when the Desnan's suggested the Sword Marches, the hilly countryside seemed like the perfect place to hone Evindyl's flight skills.

FEEL BETTER !!!

It’s been a full week, so I want to check in and report that I have pneumonia. My recovery has been decently effective, thanks to heavy doses of...whatever it is they’re giving me. But I’m still quite tired. I’ll be trying to post in some games no later than tomorrow.

Oh goodness, please don't strain yourself, the board's will still be here when you get better!

I’m a long (really long) time GM and my home game has been online since 2020. But it has also dwindled in size and I’d really like to have more great players! So, since we play online that means anyone could potentially play with us. Interested? Just drop me a Private Message!

DETAILS
My players and I are in the last book of an Adventure Path (Age of Ashes) and we’ll be wrapping it up in the next 2-3 months. When that’s over, we’d really like to have more players. 6 to 7 players would be ideal. Right now we are 3 players plus me.

We play every other Sunday from 12-6 Eastern time. We -don’t- use any VTT’s (your GM finds them distracting). We just talk over Discord and use Google slides for images and maps. Works great and there’s zero learning curve.

PLAYER’S CHOICE
One thing I’ll be doing differently this time is that instead of me telling the players what we’re going to play, I’m going to offer the players a choice of 5 or 6 potential campaigns I’d be willing to run (including a few different game systems) and let the players tell me what they want to play. I expect we’ll be playing Pathfinder 2e, but if the players prefer sci-fi or superheroes we might be using a different system.

So anyway, if you’d like to join us and want to have some input in what we play, now’s your chance to get involved!

I’m Tarondor. My real name is Scott Nolan and I’m a lawyer, a dad, a husband and a big ol’ nerd whose RPG credentials go back to the 1970's. I love pretty much every style of gaming from “kick in the door” to deep roleplaying. I don’t care if you’ve got forty years of experience or if you’ve never played the game, so long as you’re good at getting along with others and don’t think that “what? It’s what my character would do!” is an excuse for screwing your party.

Folks, I want to apologize for my absence. It was a combination of several personal things going on, filing taxes (I own a few businesses so it takes awhile) and having a fairly bad case of bronchitis (which I’m still not over). Nonetheless, I wish I had posted to let you all know I’m still alive.

I'm a little unsure what to do, so let's talk.

I warned you not to just ride in and fight but you rode in and fought. Not only that, it was only half the party that did so. If use the adventure as written, I will kill the three that are fighting, so I decided to adjust and keep the story going forward by only bringing what I thought you could actually fight, however unrealistic that is.

Then the other half of the party, the half that wanted to sneak in, is now not responding to prompts.

So... do you guys want to keep on playing this game?

I think of this as my flagship game, the one I'd let go of last if I had to let everything else go. But I don't want to run it if there isn't an enthusiasm to to do so.

So can we please decide who's in and who's out and what those who are in want to do?

If Fizz found himself alone, as the sneak in party, I have no problem making every effort to join the combatant party to lend aid.

I remain enthusiastic about this game and hope it continues.

Aristu did not wish to fight, but when he saw others headed into the fray he didn't want to abandon them to their fate. He hoped to bluff and bluster their way through the encounter with a minimum of bloodshed.

Yeah, I regret the way we got split up, Fizz isn't really a guy that wants to charge head first into battle, so given the opportunity to try something else, he went for it.

In hindsight, it would have been wiser to stick to one plan and go all in

Could the combatants make a Profession:Soldier roll or something to tell that the battle would be obviously unwinnable? Historically, cavalry vs pike is a bad matchup for the Cavalry.
And we should be able to retreat faster than the pike infantry.

Still here ... infrequent, I admit, but now finished the distance ed course.

How far away are Piotr and Fizz ... too far for a well-time fireball to catch the pike infantry that have concentrated in the face of the cavalry?

I am in. I thought we were all staying together. I am not sure why the party split up. If its that bad we can try and retreat out. But we were just grinding our wheels and I thought a mad dash might get us past guys on foot. If people call for a retreat, I will try and get back to my horse next turn.

Def still here also - and also a little unclear why the split ended up making sense. Evin had offered to fly in and make a distraction on the other side of town, then suddenly people were storming the walls it seems.

Hey folks! I’m back.

For our 35th anniversary, the wife and I took the kids to the Black Hills and Yellowstone National Park. Saw the Badlands, Mount Rushmore, Crazy Horse, Jewel Cave, Devil’s Tower, the Bighorn Mountains, Yellowstone and the Grand Tetons. We saw bison, bears, bighorn sheep and elk up close (relatively) and even (supposedly, I’m not sure) a mountain lion at some distance. Despite our best efforts, we saw no wolves.

A came home with a bonus gift: COVID. So I’m taking things slowly, but I’m getting back to my games today.

I’m back. I won’t bore you with the details, but life has gotten a bit harder for me. For one thing, I’m about to have a third child in a few weeks, so I’ll be quite busy for a while.

I’m dropping some of my games, but this isn’t one of them. I hope to be able to dedicate greater attention to this game from here on out. Now back to our show.
