Since we don't know what the things are, should we just whack the CLW wand before moving on? And even with a 19 Jaender still can't identify anything. Rough.

That's the problem with trying to do this while working. Yeah... the 25 was the target... was thinking 26 for some reason. D'oh.

ARCANOLEMBIC

Aura moderate transmutation; CL 10th
Slot none; Price 5,000 gp; [b]Weight 2 lbs.
DESCRIPTION
This glass flask looks similar to the alembics used by alchemists to distill various liquids, but this one is framed in a delicate silver
brace and the glass is etched with various arcane runes. When used to create an alchemical object, the arcanolembic allows the creator to double her progress for 1 day’s work (although this does not affect the cost or the price of the components of the object). In addition, when used to brew a potion, the arcanolembic reduces the time needed to create the potion by 25%. Finally, the arcanolembic can be used to hold one potion. When a creature consumes a potion from the arcanolembic, the potion is treated as if the caster level were 2 higher than the usual minimum for a potion of its level. Placing a potion into the arcanolembic is a full-round action. While holding a potion, the arcanolembic cannot be used for any other purpose.

"Hooray! All hail Vox the Hero who vanquished the evil alchemist!" Roudantaimi rejoices and jumps to hug Vox in his excitement. A dabbler in the field of alchemy, the gnome looks around Krenar's belongings, but loses his interest quickly since there is not much stuff for his gunnery purposes.

Liberty's Edge

Male Human (Varisian) Level 6, #-4

Arturo helps to loot the room and the alchemist's corpse. When the spell casters are unable to figure out what the potion is for, he strides over. "Let me have a sip, and see if I can't deduce its function."

As though tasting a fine, strong whisky, Arturo carefully lets a drop of the liquid slip onto his tongue. He swirls it around in his mouth and mentally checks his body for changes that might give him a clue as to what a full gulp would do.

Perception to determine a potion's function: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (17) + 6 = 23

Hold off on wand charges guys, it looks like we've cleared the place. If I don't miss my guess, that door will lead to the next module. Is that right, GM? Either way, Arturo will recommend heading back to town for a well-deserved rest before exploring another level!

"Wow! Look at all these goodies! This will be a wonderful thing to report to the venture captain, that we handled mister half-face here. Ohhh... An Arcanolembic! I don't do much with alchemy, but I know these are rare and valuable."

"Thank you Poochie, for the book. Yes, It seems this language might be the key to communicating with Creeky here. Do you like the name? I think it fits. I think I am growing quite attached too, I hope there is more instruction in here on how to use and maintain this marvelous toy."

"Creeky, Vino stand by mine, și să mă urmeze. Vei fi animalul meu, și voi avea grijă de tine."

Draconic:
"Come stand by me, and follow me. You will be my pet, and I will take care of you."

Jaender proceeds to follow the group around with his nose buried in the book, occasionally bumping into walls as he is not watching where he is going.

Command list? Maintenance procedures? I wonder if there is a way to make him less creaky? Perhaps I should learn how to cast grease

The potion is cure moderate wounds... which, if you poured it into the Arcanolembic, would give you 2d8+5.

The door does lead to The Enigma Vaults!

Remember you are to report back to Daggermark to report on your findings!

The brute looks at Ophiuchus with a baffled expression. "This one doesn't feel badly...is there something growing on this one?"

He then nods sagely at the nagaji. "Yes, let us see if your mighty duck tabard is ready. This one is anxious to see how proud and fierce the waterfowl looks upon your person."

As the alchemist slumps though still held aloft and unmoving, the hunter looks first toward the wolf and shrugs his shoulders, and then to the bow in his hands with a confused look. "...I can't believe that worked..."

The young hunter is thoroughly surprised with himself.

"I may have to pick up one of the those duck tabards, myself..." he says with laugh, for the first time actually surprised they all survived.

"In the future, I think we can use all the help we can get."

Sometime in the near future...

"Yes venture captain. It was really quite a devious place. The twisted things he did to those goblins was revolting, and quite interesting all the same. No right thinking person should ever try to duplicate them. Some of the goblins had all manner of alterations, rubbery skin and such. The goblin with the vials sticking out of his head was honestly the most wickedly evil thing I had ever seen, and that's saying something when it comes to goblins."

Jaender drones on for a few more minutes, allowing the others to chime in as he explains in detail the laboratory and the denziens within.

"Ahh yes. I call him Creeky. Rescued him from the laboratory. Still trying to figure him out actually, he reminds me of my first pathfinder mission, all mechanics and machinery. There has got to be magic in this thing somehow... I am still doing the research. Yes sir, I will be sure to report. And cooperate. And of course continue exploring. Hoping I can take him with me?"

Unfortunately for the group, two days into the walk back to Daggermark, the damaged crystal finally burns out, shatters, and turns to dust. The statue does not respond to any commands, and the party has to abandon it.

Sven: Fort: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (18) + 6 = 24

The Strong Brute does not come down with filth fever.
