@Ophiuchus - the save hasn't happened yet. Onset is 1-3 days, so that is when the first save actually happens!
The wolf quickly moves in, and kills the rat, giving it a good "doggie shake" for good measure.
Roudi moves in on his mount, and heals the downed barbarian... doesn't quite bring him back up, but he seems stable for the time.

Then, the green rat moves up to take a bite out of Arturo.

This sequence of events is very tricky, and I have spent a good amount of time working it out. I will post on the discussion thread what the sequence of events are...

Snarltongue attack vs. Jaender -- PA, FF, Rage: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (18) + 8 = 26
Axe damage: 1d6 + 13 ⇒ (5) + 13 = 18

Suddenly a large wound opens up in the chest of the wayang, as Snarltongue's axe cuts through. The sorcerer clutches his bleeding ribs as he falls to the ground, unconscious, bleeding. The goblin then disappears again. (Location of Snarltongue when he appeared is marked by the bloody axe)

(due to the situation, I am going to have to wait for his response to this. Also, I assume he was planning on attacking the goblin with a readied action? But, I am guessing he'll want to lay on hands instead.)

@GM Silbeg: I still want to check an assumption that I asked about earlier: if we tried to move into or through the goblin's square, I'm assuming we'd notice. Is that correct? ie. as per the rules we can't pass through an enemy square without making some kind of acrobatics check, whether they're visible or not, and that would manifest in some kind of way.

Arturo traces a circuitous route around his companions. The swashbuckler half-walks, half-skips with a wide stance, swinging his feet in an exaggerated and very funny-looking way in an attempt to literally run into the invisible goblin (and thus pinpoint his location).

Arturo's path marked on the map. Please Lockwood me to "6" if he doesn't encounter any resistance.

If Arturo runs into the goblin:

I'm assuming it will take an AoO and become visible. Please add in flanking bonuses if that is the case and Arturo happens to be flanking him.

Arturo Scimitar vs Snarltongue: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (16) + 8 = 24

Sneak attack damage if applicable: 1d6 ⇒ 3 If flanking
Precise strike damage if applicable: 1d6 ⇒ 6 If flanking with Vox or Einhardt (or Strong Brute!)

If he didn't become visible, miss chance...

Miss chance (total concealment), aiming for 51%+: 1d100 ⇒ 25

"He's right there!" cries Arturo, indicating the square he ran into the goblin in.

If Arturo misses the goblin completely:

Arturo rummages around in his backpack, glad that he no longer lets Strong Brute carry around a sack for him. That man just dumped it anywhere - if he even remembered to dump it! He produces a bag of flour and passes it from one hand to the other. Next time that little freak disappears, he'll be ready!

@Arturo there is a definite lack in the rules about this. However, most deal with this like the overrun maneuver... in which case, the target can choose to let the overrunner just move through. Arturo steps away from the rat (5ft step) pulls out a bag of flour from his backpack (move action) and prepares to throw it at the last location of the goblin when he next disappears (readied action).

Ok, I am going to rule that based on the post, Poochie will make a Perception check, and if he fails, will ready an attack for when he sees the goblin, or someone points out where to attack. Fair enough?

Ophiuchus Perception DC (A LOT): 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (13) + 8 = 21
He does not locate the stealthy goblin, so holds his flail, ready to strike when he is informed where to strike (5' step will also be allowed if needed, since you haven't moved)

Snarltongue swings his "axe of doom" at Vox, coming visible after he swings.
Axe of DOOM!: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (18) + 8 = 26 damage: 1d8 + 13 ⇒ (1) + 13 = 14 Vox takes an axe to the chest! Roudi takes his shot, but the shot ricochets off of the steps of the dais. Before the goblin has the chance to disappear, Ophiuchus steps up and swings, hitting the goblin.
FYI - you don't get Improved Critical until 8th level
The liquid in the vials is bubbling, and then the goblin turns invisible again, at which time Arturo throws his sack of flour! Powder flies everywhere, giving a faint outline around the goblin rager. This allows you to pinpoint him... miss chance still applies, from what I read. Not quite as good as Glitterdust or Faerie Fire.
He steps back behind Vox, before he realizes that he has been outlines, and swears in Goblin!

Can we threaten him (for flanking / precise / sneak bonuses) if he is coated in powder?

Edit: Never mind. Just re-read GM Silbeg's post and consulted the concealment rules. He's still got full concealment, which means we "can't attack" him, so no flanking bonuses. Crap!

Arturo fidgets around to find the last of his flour, "This is all I've got, guys, make it count!"

With that, the rogue prepares to fling the powder (correct link this time) at Snarltongue next time he appears and disappears.

Oh! If I still get flanking, etc.... can I retcon my action? Also, did the goblin dude move since I last posted? I thought he was one square to the south of his current position (adjacent to where Ophiuchus just moved). Finally, given the new ruling, I would like to post the following (whether I can retcon or not)...

"Vox! Get Einhardt to attack the gobbo, she can smell him out! You get back, attack with your superior reach and try to stay alive!" Arturo tries to yell the advice without sounding too pushy, like he heard Trask was.

Scent means automatic when within 5ft. Once Einhardt is in range, she can keep on "stepping up" to maintain a bead on the goblin. We can use her facing to target our attacks without the need for flour.

Decided to post just in case - may not have the opportunity to post again until quite a bit later tonight.

Arturo moves up to flank the goblin with his flanking buddies (not sure if Snarltongue's current position is accurate or not. If it is, he'll make this a readied action until Vox or Einhardt actually threaten Snarltongue).

The youth recoils from the strike and sees the stream of scarlet flowing down his chest. Grinding his teeth together, Vox moves to heft the gigantic lucerne hammer and retreat a few steps allowing him to strike at the close-standing creature. As his muscles begin to lift the weapon, he finds its weight is too much for him.

The hammer drops to the floor in clatter, and the youth draws his longsword while calling to the wolf.

"Einhardt, flank!" he forces the word through his mouth, but can feel his voice faltering. As the wolf begins to move, Vox calls again to his animal-friend. "Einhardt... attack..."

The youth stammers, barely able to speak and recoiling from the pain in his chest. He waits with the longsword ready to strike, waiting for goblin to appear... knowing when goblin appears he will himself fall to its murderous axe.

Vox only hopes he can kill the creature with his last act.

readied action: Attack the goblin when it appears (using longsowrd):

Ophiuchus - you can only ready a single standard action. Therefore, either you have to move first... or you can only move a 5' step during the readied action (if you do not move ahead of time).

Arturo, you can flank, but you still cannot deal your sneak attack/precision damage-- concealment of any kind blocks that. You can only get the +2 to hit. " A rogue cannot sneak attack while striking a creature with concealment." However, I am still researching other precision damage. I apologize if this is causing confusion. I will keep reading, and report before I finalize moves. I am guessing that the intent is that concealment negates all precision damage.

Also, yes, I had to "lockwood" him, as my text described his move, but I forgot to move him.

All: You have a faint outline of where the guy is. Thus, you may attack him, but he still has total concealment. If you ready for him to appear, he doesn't appear until after his attack lands.

The wolf approaches the faint, dusty outline of the creature and strikes out with her jaws. Tentatively, the beast tries to bite and grasp the creature, refraining from putting her full power into the bite until she can fully see it.

In her confusion at facing such an invisible foe and the chaos of watching the youth injured, the wolf's attack misses wide.

Vox calls out to the she-wolf, commanding her to flank. She maneuvers around, seeing the Nagaji ready to attack. Her attack, however, misses wildly. The youth is waiting to strike, having dropped his polearm and switching to his sword. Arturo dances around, slashing at the shadow of flour that surrounds the goblin, strike, drawing some blood onto the flour. The paladin moves up, and with his "happy stick" heals the wayang (glad that he doesn't show the negative energy affinity that many of his kind have)... heals him enough so that he is conscious once more! (but already acted)

Seeing his opponent wounded and at his feet, the goblin once more attacks!

Been missing the +2 for invisible attackers, though it hasn't been needed
The youth is hit... just barely... and goes down.

Ophiuchus steps up (5' step only) and pounds at the goblin with his flail. Thankfully, Einhardt was distracting the goblin (who can't understand why a wolf would attack him), and this causes the flail to connect! The mutated goblin does not look healthy, but he does, once again, turn invisible.

Einhardt sniffs the air, trying to pinpoint the goblin. Knowing the direction, she steps forward, and then attacks with hatred at the goblin that has brought down the youth. One wonders if the she-wolf is developing a hatred of goblins by now.

Jander doesn't have a weapon, so doesn't threaten. But...
Arturo, for once quiet, moves to position, and swings his scimitar into the space that Einhardt attacked, reasoning that she knows something he doesn't. He is rewarded with the feeling of a solid hit, and the shower of hot blood. A bloody battleaxe appears near where he made contact. Einhardt again attacks into the area where the blood is pooling, and all can see her grab something and shake. After almost a 1/2 minute, the party finally sees their dead enemy as the invisibility runs out.

You have time to heal up, and Roudi can use a wand to stabilize Vox before he bleeds again.

For those interested, the battleaxe is glowing magically, He also has three alchemist's fire. You take the time to "toss" the room, using both normal senses and detect magic, and discover a magical (though quite... stained...) feather in a bucket filled with rotten viscera set behind the table on the dais.

Arturo sinks to the ground, his scimitar coated in blood. Relief floods his face. He pants and wipes the sweat from his brow as Ophiuchus rifles through the bucket of innards for some feathers. Then a smile slowly creeps onto his face.

"Ha," the deadpan laugh escapes his lips unbidden, but more follow, "Ha! Ha ha ha! Ha ha ha ha ha ha!" Arturo rises and kicks the barbarian's corpse once, twice then thrice for good measure.

"Take that! You filthy little sneak!" Arturo spins around to face his companions, "Well done, my friends! I think we should get Einhardt on the case earlier next time, though. But yes! A hard battle and well fought. Strong Brute, I think you are most deserving of the more magical spoils of war - that axe for instance. Then, let us heal ourselves and see what else this 'Forgotten Laboratory' has to offer!"

It is then that Arturo realizes he hasn't even been scratched by the invisible barbarian. Thank you Desna! he prays, briefly.

Recovers 1 panache point for dealing the killing blow.

While his companions are healing, Arturo checks to confirm that the tunnels to the north-east do indeed meet up with the rooms they've already been to. The rogue moves very slowly in case of a cave-in, ready to jump back at a moment's notice, and he goes no farther than he has to in order to make sure there's nothing more here than a tunnel.

Assuming nothing happens and he returns having found nothing...

"Well, the double doors to the south look quite ominous. I, for one, am pretty keen for some easier exploration to get our wind back," Arturo paces the room to check the western door for traps, "How about we open the regular door first? See if we can circle back around to the entrance again."

The brute wakes up groggily, shaking his head a few times. Seeing Vox and Jaender also looking quite the worse for wear, he nods upon seeing the crumpled form of the goblin barbarian with the strange devices implanted in its head. The large man sighs in contentment as the wand is used on him, his wounds slowly closing up, a legacy of faint scars the only sign of the grievous assault he just endured.

He looks at the axe doubtfully, seeming to clutch his scythe tighter. "What does the axe do?"

Considering that by itself, a +1 ax would have a sell value of 1,150 plus half base, I'd consider 14 CLW charges a steal! :)

Jaender accepts the wand charges with a smile, grateful to have such things at the groups disposal.

He sits, much like Arturo, suddenly exhausted. Not just exhausted from the physical exertion it took to take this beast down, but suddenly weary. They had only been in this laboratory for a few minutes, and already nearly every one of his friends, including himself, had come dangerously close to death's door.

"I fear our magiks may run short before we are through cleaning the filth from this place." Jaender kicks at the goblin as well when he references the filth of the place.

He takes a deep breath and stands back up, all 3 feet of his puny stature.

"Well, there's nothin for it then. Might as well be moving on. Can't say I've got it in me to quit now."

DC on the feather token is 27 -- they are caster level 12? - I'll say Poochie was aiding you in determining what it was)Evidently, the feather can turn into a small bird able to deliver a message tied to its foot.

The two casters cannot figure out the exact enchantment of the axe, but it doesn't look particularly strong. But, Strong Brute, remember that the battleaxe is small sized, so will be -2 to hit with. You are still better off, probably, with your scythe. Might be a good backup weapon for Roudi, though (assume it is just a +1).

Arturo looks at the vials in the goblin's head, but doesn't think that he'll be able to recover anything... the vials look pretty well depleted, and while you think you can remove them, it doesn't look like there will be enough to do anything. Also, he can't figure out the delivery system.

Arturo then plays with the doors to the south, but cannot figure out how to unlock them. Of course, then Strong Brute comes over, gives them a look, and just shows him that they are unlocked.

As you look through the bore hole to the south, you see a little more (in case you would like to go that way, instead!).

This crumbling cavern looks like it was made by some sort of drilling device that tore through the surrounding stone. A large pool of stagnant water fills part of the cavern, fed by a rivulet that runs from the ceiling. Thick sheets of webbing hang from the roof of the cave.

Jeander (the curious?) pokes his head in, stealthily, so see what he can see. (if you want to move your minis, to where you would like to be...)
