I wasn't going to have them meet you out on the ground like this, but with Hazim taking 20 on every door... well, the monsters were getting a little bored waiting all day. ;)

As a heads-up, my laptop's power adapter seems to be missing. I'm hoping it will turn up in short order, but until then I'm on battery power with minimal computer time, so I may be slow to post for a while. I suppose this might be the straw that breaks the camel's back of forcing me to get my PC's screwy connection sorted out again....

Just as a heads up,

When posting, it's really helpful to include things that push the scene forward. For example, when searching the room, also include what you're doing next or react/respond to your allies. At a table, it makes sense to react to the GM as he pushes things forward. But in PbP, it helps me a lot to react to you guys, as then I'm not required to post as much to just advance to the next room or scene. It just makes things more efficient and constantly moving.

Make sense? PbP is such a different beast, it takes some time to get used to. I'm still learning myself, but this would help me keep things continuing more regularly.

Thanks guys. You are all awesome. :)

Sawing noise

Loud crack, followed by louder expletive

A bearded gnome looks through the same hole in the ceiling through which his foot now protrudes. A matter of time, and he drops into the room. He finds the longest splinter in his pants, extracts it, and begins picking his teeth with it.

"What do we have here then? Ain't you a beauty." The gnome bounds over to the savannah cat, and begins stroking its length. "Pleased to meet you, cat-o-nine! My name is Pent, and you can call me friend, as long as you don't draw blood." The gnome continuing stroking the cat with one hand, while his other hand reaches for his beard, and begins to stroke it in parallel.

Oh for the love of the Sun! We hafta let gnomes in!? GNOMES!?! Gnomes, why'd it hafta to be gnomes? Ami rolls on the ground, staring at the sun.

When Pent's hands come close to the cat, the cat's ears go back, his eyes get wild, and a low growl escapes his throat. You slowly see the cat's long claws extract from his paws. A clear warning if you've ever heard one.

Keep Moving In, Pent?:

The cat gives another warning yawl and swats at your hand.

1d20 + 2 - 4 ⇒ (6) + 2 - 4 = 4 to hit;
1d4 + 1 ⇒ (4) + 1 = 5 nonlethal.

It's clear that the next blow will not be so gentle.

A little ball of halfman stands up from behind the kitty, a loaded halfling slingstaff begins to whirl warning in his tiny hands. The halfling's eyes glare warning from the folds his scarf.

"Ah, you haven't been loved on much, have you? Here, lemme show you how to get pet by someone holds you no ill..." Pent keeps moving in.

"Aieee now! Well, we'll have to work on that now, won't we? You'll be purring like a real tommie in no time, you will, you will. oh hey" Pent looks over at the halfling as it stands. "You gonna stand up and introduce yourself proper? Didn't see you there. You should think about wearing a bell or something, let's people know you're about their feet, so you won't get stepped on so easily. My name's Pent. This here yours?" Pent gauges the distance between him and the savannah cat, and points at it while looking at the halfling.

"Greetings, ah, Pent. I suggest you leave the greatcat alone though. He's rather particular about being touched. I don't even pet him uninvited for fear of being scratched."

Aldebert looks up at the ceiling, "So, er, where are you from? I'm Aldebert by the way, and that there's my brother Amiamble."

Aldebert moves not so subtly in between the newcomer and his brothers 'pet'.

The gnome rubs his eyes, and looks back and forth between the now two halflings. "One half and one half makes a whole one. Aldebert, you say? Well, it's a pleasure to meet you and your brother. The cat, too." Pent studies the halflings with an appraising eye. Fine specimens these ones.

"Where I'm from? Uh, I'd a supposed it'd be from my mama's nethers, but you asked the question as if you really didn't know, and the hole's too obvious an answer, so... I've been traveling a bit, and by bit, I mean the whole bit, from one side of the horse's mouth to the other. You get me?" Pent keeps looking over Aldebert's shoulders for another look at Amiamble. "You two twins then? And where are you going, is more like the question you shoulda asked earlier."

Ahhhhh... It was sweet. We also just tapped toes with Trieste, Italy, and both Frankfurt and Munich. If you can say that passing through a country is visiting a country, then yeah. But no :) We got our passports stamped in Germany, but no stamps for Slovenia.

The pre-ceremony bartering for the wife, the wedding, the reception, the spa, the castles, the food, the castles, the history... sigh. I really didn't want to come home. Now we have a solid connection for the next time we go, because they really wanted to run us around to other countries that only take hours to reach by car. Really really jealous...

Woo woo, Germany! I have, uh, spent three hours in Munich's airport. Full extent of my Germanic travels.

Italy's awesome though.

That sounds amazing.

The extent of my European exploits is a few weeks in Romania. But, man. The castles! SO COOL.

Spain?? Would love to hear about it! I had only 3 months of study in Bar-the-lona, and would give my eyeteeth to return...

Brief story, as it was a charmer- Predjama Castle was the dig-in spot for a robber baron, Erazem (thought of Hazim, in fact). He was betrayed during a siege when a turncoat wedged a torch in the door of the upper bathroom facilities, where the enemy then proceeded to catapult. He died on the shitter.

-Favored class bonus: Hit point

I'd like the ring of feather fall, though at this level we might be better off selling it as we're all pretty poor. Assuming we can order things, let's sell it for now. I also think we should sell the +1 light mace (Hazim should keep the +1 dagger though and I'll keep the +1 hammer for now).

GM Sloth - I'd like (if there's sufficient cash) to make my guisarme masterwork. Can I get Masterwork Transformation cast 'locally' or do I need to order a MW weapon and sell mine back?

For that matter are we able to 'order' things from town or are we truly on our own for a while?

Amiamble needs none of the treasures found so far, cash is preferable at this point. Amiamble is also happy to lend funds, too...I'm sure his brother will arrange for loans at very reasonable rates. :)

It would be good to know if we can eventually order things.

So, about ordering things, and to curb expectations now...

At this point in the campaign, you guys will not be able to order anything. Sorry. You guys are over ten days out from town, and are expected to take Kelmarane within the week (which will become apparent soon.) It's going to be quite a while before orders can be made. This campaign is a little different in that regard. The only things to purchase are potions, and spellcasting services (up to 2nd level).

Speaking of spellcasting, since Masterwork Transformation is a Cleric spell, Zastoran would be able to prepare it for you if you ask. You will need to pay the material components, but he will gladly do it for you. In fact, if you need specific Cleric spells for 1st or 2nd level, Zastoran is more than happy to help out if you give him notice.

Does that answer any questions? And you will be able to sell stuff that you earn back to the caravan, but there's not going to be anything to buy sadly for... Quite a while.

Thanks for that post Josh.

In that case, if the group is alright with it, Hazim will hold onto the light mace for now. I'll sell it when there's opportunity. But for now, it'd be a great offhand wep for me to alternate with the daggers.

Yeah, I was going to suggest keeping the mace anyway-- you never know when you'll need bludgeoning. Maybe we can re-evaluate once the campaign gets to a point where we CAN exchange shinies for.... smaller, rounder shinies... but for now, it's good to keep on hand.

Sloth-
Since I've never played a character before that can actually create magic items, what with the creation feats being no good in PFS, let me make sure I've got Scribe Scroll correct:

I can make a scroll of any spell I 'know' -- know as in, have it in my spellbook, or have it memorized for the day? -- by making a successful spellcraft check, taking two hours (for low level scrolls at least), and spending half the base price of the scroll.

So if I wanted to make multiple scrolls of Endure Elements to have them on hand, for instance:

-I need to memorize that spell for the day?
-Two hours per scroll I create
-Spellcraft DC of 6, as it's a first level spell
-Is the spell slot cast/used up when I successfully scribe it? If so, I would need to memorize multiple slots of Endure Elements to make multiple scrolls, yes?
-12.5 gold per scroll I create, since it's a first level spell.

Do I have the basics correct?

So, before I calculate everything, let me make sure I have everything correct. If you want to change anything, let me know ASAP.

Masterwork leather armor
Ring of Feather Falling

I'm really surprised you guys want to sell the ring. Definitely one of the best rings you can get. But, whatever you want to do.

I'd be fine with keeping it, personally. It's a great ring, and I'm not champing at the bit to get lots of gold, personally. :P Yes, I like having it, who doesn't, but I don't mind shoestringing it on the adventurer-equivalent of Ramen gear for a while in order to keep awesome loot.

I have no issues selling stuff. I say we sell everything. But it's feeling like gear might be light for a while, so I'm thinking we should make use of everything. Whatever is left when we make it to a city/place to sell, we can get rid of it then. But why not wear the items/item until we get there. Just a thought, although I could be off base.

Halfling (Per +19 | Fort +17 Ref +12 Will +15 | AC 26 (f25/t14) | CMD 29)

I'm with Hazim in my hesitation.

I say we sell enough stuff to make sure everyone has enough for a masterwork weapon (or a couple extra scrolls) at least. We can do that (if my math is right) and still keep the ring, the chime, and the weapons but sell everything else.

We can sell those two things maybe when we get back to town depending on our cash flow situation then. Is that OK with everyone?
