I miss read the description the front door is unlocked and open; the side loading door is barred from the inside. I'll moved everyone over to the front door just inside shortly.

The ambient light from outside had been blocked by a filthy, oily film on the structure’s few windows. Darting illumination comes from light reflecting off the water through a splintered hole in the floor beyond some crates to the south. Throughout the warehouse, crates, boxes, and barrels lean against each other in vaguely sorted stacks. A lingering smell indicates some of the contents are certainly spoiled.
Inside the warehouse, you find many barrels, boxes, and crates stacked along the walls. Just inside the door sits a handful of crates and kegs of beer. By the smell of them, most of these smaller crates and barrels seem to contain foodstuffs in various states of freshness. Some crates reek of rot. Stacks of simple coffins sit against the east wall. The rest of the crates stacked along the north and south walls contain simple sundries including, but not limited to beer, blocks of clay, coffee, coils of rope, dried fish, nails, nets, raw cotton, rough wool, spare sails, timber planks, various pulleys and tools, and cheap weapons. A crane, used for loading and unloading boats, clings to a rail running the length of the warehouse, hanging 5 feet below the high ceiling.
Tere di Montefeltro
|
Tere loosens the blade over his shoulder in its sheath and looks around, his elven eyes piercing the gloom. "We are looking for an emblem of three crows, I think?" He walks slowly into the warehouse.
Dale~
|
Dale heads up to give more light. "Well, whatcha waiting for?"
Akter Phruse
|
Akter moves forward, pulling his bow and preparing an arrow. This whole day was being fairly eventful, and he felt he had to be ready for the worst.
I don't like it, guys. It seems a little too quiet so far. Should one of us watch the door? - he whispers, a little paranoid.
Tere di Montefeltro
|
Tere follows the monk into the warehouse, looking for any sign of movement. "Any ideas on how to get the crate? There's probably some rope around, if we can tie onto it and pull it off the hole."
| GM Pathmaker |
Huratas cautiously moves forward and do not see any signs of danger or caution other than that rickety floor. Tere observes that there is a cord of rope running through the crane head hanging from the rail above, currently positioned above the crate.

"Do any of you know how to use a crane? Failing that, let's see if we can tie some rope onto the crate and pull it off of the hole."
Dale~
|
Dale moves in and sees.
"Perhaps if we are careful, we can work in tandam to move the planks without the crate falling in." Are the planks moveable? This is assuming that they are.
"If not, I have some rope."
Akter Phruse
|
I moved closer too, GM...
Maybe we could try to reach the rail and climb over to the crate? - said Akter - I don't know. If some of us push or give base and balance to someone light and acrobatic... While the others help with the planks as Dale observed.

Let me know your group's action. Sounds like throwing ideas back and forth right now.

"Perhaps we merely shake the tree and allow the apple to drop into our basket."
Tere di Montefeltro
|
"Selfi, good idea, but I don't want to rely on that. You go get the boat and position it under the hole. Dale, you keep watch and fast-talk anyone who tries to question it. Huratas, Akter--we'll try and get some planks under the box and slide it back onto solid flooring, but Selfi has to be ready to catch it if it falls. How's that?"
| GM Pathmaker |
Huratas heads for the far wall. Suddenly, three stealthy-mangey-diseased-drooling rat-like creatures charge out from the crevices like assault troopers with jaws snapping! Tere takes a bite to the ankle!

Tere exterminates the ROUS with a gentle pet of his longsword. Selfi does the same with a swing of her even bigger sword. Akter puts an arrow through the last one. [-2 AC for charging] It screeches and dives into the water below, ending the warehouse terror. Without other distractions, the task of getting the crates is eventually accomplished.
The rescued crate holds a smaller mahogany box inside, which contains five books and a few loose sheets of paper in a leather folder. The titles and subjects seem completely unrelated to each other: Practical Thaumaturgy In Accordance with Creation, Geographic Anomalies of the Inner Sea, Under Kaer Maga: A Trial and Travel, Physiology of Dragons: An Illustrated Reference, Lost Sarusan. The leather folder contains: cargo manifestos, warehouse inventories, financial logs from a dozen different merchant houses and trade guilds. The crate also contains: 10 sets of masterwork thieves’ tools, three flasks of alchemist’s fire, a flask of acid, a dozen jars of various inks, a footprint book, adamantine weapon blanch, three bags of powder, a deck of marked cards, two sets of average loaded dice.
Gathering the books Guaril requested (and any other items you want) you bring them back to him at his curio shop, where he congratulates you on the success of your task and rewards each member of your party.

Back on the streets in very short order, you have plenty of time to return to the Grand Lodge. But very soon, you realize that the tail you've spotted occasionally throughout the day has found you again, and this time he makes no effort to conceal himself, planting his feet in the middle of a narrow street ahead of you. You also notice that he's gathered a few companions to back him up, and they don't look friendly...
The man who’s been following you draws aside his cloak to reveal a chain shirt underneath and unsheathed rapier in hand. Standing with him are three others. A young woman, lithe, with dark hair hanging in ringlets that just brush her shoulders wearing a long skirt, embroidered with silver and black thread and a high-necked woolen blouse. An exotic Tian woman with blue eyes and an open smiling face, wearing a well-made, green silk dress in the most current fashion and a shimmering black scarf draped across her shoulders. Last, and least, is a strange muscled Halfling with a handlebar moustache and a crazed gleam in his eyes.
With a grin, your stalker talks over his shoulder to young dark haired woman. “Here they are Deandre, just like I said they’d be.” The young woman doesn’t immediately appear a threat, but as she speaks, her role as leader of this rough crew becomes clear. “Yes, Larkin, I have eyes. But you haven’t proven your worth yet.” Gesturing to the Tian woman and the Halfling, she says. “Go with Hallis and Ledford, and get me their Pathfinder gold and trinkets.” She then turns her pale face to your group and calls out. “Go ahead and resist if you like. Norgorber likes a little blood on his loot.”
