You are goblins of the Licktoad tribe, who live deep in Brinestump Marsh, south of the hated man-town called Sandpoint. Once, other goblins tried to burn Sandpoint down, and they would have been legends if they had succeeded. But they didn’t bring enough fire, and got themselves killed as a result.

Yesterday, your tribe discovered that one of your own had been using forbidden arts and was engaged in one of the greatest of taboos—writing things down. In fact, rumor holds that what he was writing was a history of your tribe! There’s no swifter way to bring about bad luck than stealing words out of your mind by writing them down, and so your tribe had no choice. You branded the goblin’s face with letters to punish him, which is why everyone calls him Scribbleface now, and then you ran him out of town, took all of his stuff, and burned down his hut.

That’s where things got interesting, because before you all burned down his hut, Chief Gutwad found a weird box within the building. Inside was a map and a lot of fireworks—fireworks that immediately came to use in burning the hut down. Then, this morning, Gutwad announced that tonight there would be a feast in order to drive out any lingering bad luck from Scribbleface’s poor decisions. But perhaps even more exciting, all of you have been secretly invited to meet at Chief Gutwad’s Moot House. Why would the chief want to speak to you? It can only mean that he’s got an important mission foryou all... one that the other goblins of the tribe couldn’t pull off. This could be your chance to go down in
Licktoad history!

I'll be recruiting for We Be Goblins!. I'm looking for four 1st-level players. I'm only allowing material from the CRB and APG, with the exception of material published by Paizo specifically for goblins, like to the Dogslicer, or goblin racial traits. I may be willing to make exceptions. I'm a new GM, so be patient with me.

Creation Rules:


  • Level One
  • 15 Point Buy
  • All classes from CRB and APG, except for Wizard, since goblins have a fear of writing.
  • 2 Traits.
  • Average starting wealth for your class.
  • You should be able to post at least once a day.

Any clerics should worship Zarongel, the god of dog killing, fire, and mounted combat. His domains are Animal, Evil, Fire, and Travel.

I big part of the fun is going to be the fact that we are playing goblins, on of the most amazingly fleshed out races in Pathfinder. Be sure to have an appropriate backstory and for your character. You get bonus ponts if you come up with your own goblin song!

Let me know if you have any questions. I'm very excited to run this adventure, and think it's going to be a blast! If this turns out well, I may run Jade Regent for the same group if people are interested.


are we using plain goblins or are we useing hob goblins high goblins blues and boggles too?


The Licktoads are a tribe of regualar goblins, but it wouldn't be strange to have a hobgoblin in their midsts.

Mogwag, is a goblin magic men. Rather intelligent for a goblin he is always interested in crafting stuff, actually its more like trying not to go Boom while creating alchemical stuff.

Alger, it looks good, but I noticed you have an 8 in Charisma, the key ability for sorcerers. If you want to be capable of casting spells you might want to swap Int and Cha.

Id like to throw my hat in the ring. Ill be working up a Goblin Ranger tonight...that or a Goblin Druid...Haven't quite decided yet.


I would absolutely love to play in this. Be aware that I do know WBG as well as JR, but I'll keep that knowledge separate from the character.

In fact, I'm planning to start up recruitment for an all-goblin Jade Regent campaign once I get back from a trip... Small world.

Anyway, I think a Cavalier would be fun.


I definitely want to join in on this. I was really dissapointed I couldn't play on free rpg day. I'll put together a character tomorrow. I'm thinking Barbarian Gobblin?


Any way to get to Wizard 3 or 5 eventually, maybe with a hobgoblin (INT 12 or 13)? Could go nature based and get Feral Speech...

Was ridiculed and outcast for being weak and undisciplined. Tall for a hobgoblin, but thin.

Multi-class Rogue. Add some sneak damage.

How will we do sourcing magic items or crafting?


I was planning on running We Be Goblins kind of like a prelude to Jade Regent, then rolling up regular characters for that. Though an all goblin Jade Regent does sound really fun :)


Shame I am more interested in Jade regent than we be goblins.

Algar is a buddy of mine from another thread, so you can assume that the arcane caster role is filled. I have another friend from the same game who will be joining, but he has yet to declare a concept. That leaves two more slots.

Dread: Either a ranger or druid would be welcome.

Loup: A cavalier would fit well with goblin's worship of Zarongel, the god of mounted combat.

Bradison: A barbarian would be a solid member of the party.

Sandru: We Be Goblins is a one shot adventure, so I doubt we will get past 1st level.


I would say give it a shot. We Be Goblins is an awesome adventure, and I don't think it will go for more than a month.

Like I posted I definitely interested in jade regent but not so much goblins also is this going to be Jade regent with Goblin characters or not. I thought I saw that being bantered about.

The reason for me about this is I am horrible at coming up with a goblin PC. and I'd hate to be not selected for a jade regent game with a cool character just because I don't have a good goblin concept.

Albina walked through the wooden door and quickly surveyed his surroundings, there were few patrons in the aptly named Dusty Duke with a group of humans playing cards in the corner and a trio of brutish looking orcs off to the left drinking some foul substance no doubt. Albina shrugged, his charges would not like it much but it was a much needed place for some grub and drink. Signalling over his shoulder and proceeding to go sit down, he was followed in by 2 finely dressed and obviously uncomfortable elves trailed closely by a diminutive creature. A goblin! The barkeep was visibly unsettled by the sight of one of the normally destructive creatures and came over as the four sat down.
"Excuse me but the goblin..." The young lady had started to say when she was cut off by Albina.
"is with us. There will be no problems." A few gold coins shone in the dim light for a split second as they exchanged hands.
"Of corse" she replied. "And what would you fine gents want to drink?"
"I'll have the finest wine this drivel place has to offer" stated one of the elves obviously unaccustomed to such meagre accommodations. His partner, who seemed of much lower standing, possibly a servant, ordered some common wine further cementing his place below his companion.
"And you good sir?" Ignoring the goblin as she went.
"Ill have a shot of your Oldlaw Whiskey."
"Very good." she replied as she whisked away.
Albina started to protest "but..."
"Its fine Albina" the goblin interrupted him. "Besides, I brought Bufo!"
He uncorked the jug and the elves visibly grimaced revealing their discomfort.
Albina smiled inwardly, anyone that make that pompous elf uncomfortable was ok in his books.
"... must not be delayed on our journey, we must get to Rayne as soon as possible, maybe then I can get back to civilization."
Ignoring the high elf Albina looked sternly at the goblin.
"Your reading, Ziggs?"
"Them humans are harmless, but them orcs. They be sizing us up."
His ears missed nothing.
As the barkeep came back with the drinks Albina looked relieved.
"Good. Well you keep an eye on them, Id like to avoid trouble if I can."
"Will do." Ziggs replied, taking a swig. "Cant say I enjoy wine much but this is pretty good."
"BLEAGH! Hack! KOFF, KOFF"
The high elfs outburst startled everyone, well everyone excepts Ziggs.
"What is this foul stuff? Wait, what? Why you wretched goblin! You switched drinks on me!!!"
Albina couldnt help but smile, he was starting to like that goblin.

Later that evening when Albina was comfortably sated on whiskey, the high elf sullen but silent and Ziggs merry with that dazzled look he gets when drinking, the humans in the corner got up. Mildly interested, Albina glanced over and watched them pull out some instruments, first a fiddle then a flute. Next a harpsichord and lastly a set of drums. he was quite content to sit back and enjoy the music when he saw that mischievous look in Ziggs eye once again. Vaguely wondering if he should put a stop to whatever he was about to do but unwilling to move he watched as the small goblin got up and started towards the impromptu band. Now vaguely worried, he was about to get up when Ziggs started to dance. Falling back to his seat laughing instead at the sight of the comical goblin flailing about. The band spurned on by their diminutive dancer played all the harder laughing as they went.
Then Ziggs started to sing.

Round we go, round we go
Catch a squirrel, kill a mole
Start a fire and watch it glowww
Cook the mole. Not the squirrel!
Thats for fun you see

He had never heard the goblin singing before and although it was quite screechy it was amusing.

You can break its legs and watch it squirm
And for a treat you can eat its eyes
Whack it with a stick until it dieees
Thats the fun you see!

With that verse even the orcs started laughing and joining in by stomping their feet.

Now even the barkeep couldn't keep it in and was almost in tears at the sight of the goblin flailing and wailing about!

This was turning out to be quite the night made all the more merry at the sight of the high elfs discomfort and his companions enjoyment of the whole of things. Yes he was quite liking that goblin indeed!
