This one is better as it answers a few of my questions about crafting. However, the same problem comes up with DCs; leaving it at the GM's discretion... you might not want that LOL!!
I was hoping to be able to take treasure values from JR and multiply by like 10% or something. I was also hoping to add the values of items Koya crafted for the party (ie. wands of endure elements) in 1e, and come up with a budget for those same items as we move to 2e. Each of those wands is valued at 750gp in 1e, crafted for 375gpx4 or 1,500gp total. If 2e economics are only about 10% of 1e, then the budget for the items Koya made is only 150gp. This result is not enough funds for 1 wand of endure elements, never mind 4. Using this, the group should not have 4 wands of Endure Elements kicking around.
Wand of Endure Elements:

Level 6 Bulk L, held in 1 hand
Time: 4 days per wand
Cost: Based on other 2nd level spell wands and table GMG 2-19, 200gp per wand
Prerequisites: Craft Magical item (4ht level feat), Supply casting of Endure Elements
DC: 20 based on minimum suggested on table GMG 2-18
At 6th level, Koya has an Expert skill rating in crafting with a bonus of +14. She cannot critically fail, unless she rolls a Natural 1, but only succeeds on a roll of 6 or better. Failing means she starts over but does not loose any of the raw materials supplied.
Schitts & Giggles Crafting check: 1d20 + 14 ⇒ (3) + 14 = 17
Guilty. Thumbing though pages and pages of PDFs is not very exciting. I'd much rather read a few lines, draw up a wrong conclusion and cross my fingers. "The power of Nethys compels me!"

CRAFTING: When a character Crafts an item, use the item’s level to determine the DC from Table 10-5, applying the adjustments from Table 10–6 for the item’s rarity if it’s not common. You might also apply the easy DC adjustment for an item the crafter has made before.
Doesn't seem like that much GM discretion is needed.
I still don't understand the need to convert gear from 1st edition to 2nd edition.
A wand of Endure Elements (level 2 spell) would be a level 5 wand not 6. Cost 160 gp not 200. Magical Crafting is a 2nd level feat, not 4th, that someone could achieve at character level 3. The crafting DC would be 20 for the 1st wand and DC 18 for the subsequent wands as per Tables 10-5 and 10-6. Table 2-18 is for setting the DCs for custom magical items abilities, not for crafting them. Table 2-19 doesn't factor in here. That entire section of the GMG is for GMs to create custom magic items. A wand that casts a 2nd level spell is not custom. :/
I will again suggest to read the books. :P

Just a side note, Anara has +14 in the Occult, could this help at all or have we got ourselves sorted out as far as what this is and what we need to do?

Is there any functional effect on our actions for the altitude? Such as a '-' to ability checks?

We jumped straight to encounter mode, I'm assuming Ulf knew, or it was obvious from looking at them, that these are an immediate threat?
Are these creatures something Anara would know of from living in this world or am I to assume that this is a 'new wonder' for her?

New as in 2e? Possibly. I would think just about everything living in the Boreal Expanse would be a new wonder though. I suggest a recall knowledge check be made to find out what, if anything, Anara would know.

My spells range is 120', so it still reaches. If, somehow, it doesn't reach the target I'll post a retcon to forgo the action to hide and instead use it to add reach to my casting which gives an additional 30' of distance ro the target.
