You see Carver sitting at Ramona's desk, but no sign of Ramona.

Carver looks in the direction of the opening doors, his face elongated with momentary shock, readying his crossbow as he does. Then, with a subtle shift of his expression, he laments, “This all would have been easier if I’d just killed you first. Live and learn.” As he cocks the crossbow, Carver’s flesh melts down his face with an undulating, muscular action and then moves back across his neck and jaw, leaving a whorled and faceless visage in its wake. You suddenly notice four more of the faceless horrors in the room.

Purpose hits the stalker straight on! It was undamaged before, so it doesn't quite take the creature down, but does substantially hurt it!

The stalker tries to breathe:

The air near Ramona shimmers in the shape of a translucent disk. Purpose Creche and his firey images help Cedar lift her onto the disk, then Purpose Creche sprints down the stairs. The disk matches his own rapid pace but keeps the unconscious leader steady.

Joli tumbles closer to the remaining horror,.

The charou-ka came with fire that night. Too small to face the beasts, too used to the gentle river sounds, Joli could only flee with his family as their tree village blazed in the night. It was the first of many temporary homes lost.

"I’ll not let these brutes destroy our new home. No inferno can stop our steady current!"

Water gathers about his arms as he forcefully pushes the creature deeper into the fire.

The eaves are thick with smoke, flames reaching towards it as they lick up the second story railing. Crackling and coughing fill the room.
But so too do the sounds of rushing water and shouted orders while the Oathsworn coordinate to combat the blaze!
