Silt's eyes boggle at Cedar. Cedar, I thought "Path-Finder" was one kind of thing. Is it an action also?

He pauses to think for long moments, remembering the time in Carver's office.

If Joli is "Path-Findering" paperwork in that cave, I stay here with the Shulls.

The cave behind the waterfall is flush with glowing blue worms tht shed light like candles. These tantalizing creatures cling in clusters overhead, barely moving except in subtle, squirming undulations. The partially flooded cave leads away fro the curtain of the waterfall.

There is a pile of stony-looking eggs midway up the tunnel. Several of them have hatched, and the weird grubs are eating the corpse of a winged humanoid.

DC 15 Heal or Knowledge (local):
The corpse is a strix.

DC 11 Knowledge (dungeoneering):
The creatures are larval chuuls.

DC 20 Knowledge (dungeoneering) (different one):
You notice hewn stone behind calcified growths, and you think this was a manufactured surface. There is also noticeable iron ore.

Let me give you a slightly better description of the creatures before Joli gets close.

These dog-sized creatures resembles soft-shelled lobsters with underdeveloped claws and an oversized pair of mandibles.


Those… are large land shrimp. Silt draws his greatsword.

I mentioned he was going to cast enlarge person on himself near the interior entrance of the cave — is that still doable or has this gruesome scene likely distracted him?

The more intelligent members of their species loathe these creatures and destroy them whenever they are discovered. The strix's brain has definitely been eaten.

You head on in. This large cavern is composed of a combination of handhewn stone and natural cave features, as if the very stone of the walls were reclaiming an ancient structure. Enormous calcite pillars stretch from floor to ceiling, surrounded by bristling stalagmites and stalactites. Tiered, mineral-ringed pools of still water are tinted with a rainbow mottling of subterranean algae. Hidden by layers of calcite, mold, and luminous fungus are dilapidated, corroded, and crumbling picks, shovels, and other digging tools. A pair of inert clockwork servants lie alongside the tools.
