Actually, calling combat... one goblin vs 5 is not going to last long!

The rest of the Aliens surround and finish off the singing goblin, ending this group's terror and the terrible tune.

Father Zantus arrive, narrowly dodging a goblin leaping from above. However, the little menace has poor aim and lands flat on the ground, laying motionless after its neck makes an audibly stomach churning snap.

"Thank you all for fighting off the goblins; I've barely been able to keep the wounded up.", the middle aged man panting. "May Desna continue to bless you.", Zantus closing his eyes as a wave of healing heals the party.

Poor roll, but No one really got injured, so this'll work!

The priest shakes his head. "I must save the rest of my energy for the others. Please continue to clear out any more goblins, although I think these grounds are mostly secure." Indeed, the surrounding area is fairly quiet other than a couple of hapless goblins gorging on spilled food from some of the stalls. The bodies of over a dozen goblins lay about the area as well as that of a few unfortunate citizens. Zantus leaves and is only gone for about ten seconds before frantic screams come from the east!

Alright, no one else chiming in... continuing!

Raven follows the others as she munches on a crisp red apple. The Aliens' attention is diverted to the sounds of frantic screams and a barking dog near the nearby White Deer Inn.

The party arrives to see a now slain dog laying next to a man in regal garb swaying a cane sword at a quartet of goblins on foot. Behind them is a goblin riding a large, wiry rat-like creature and armed with a bow and a wicked looking polearm strapped to its back.

The goblins are so intent to their incoming kill that they are unaware of your approach.

Okay, I'll try a couple of smaller posts, so my bigger ones stop getting eaten!

Along with the defeat of the goblins threatening the noble, the sounds of battle seem to be dying around Sandpoint. The noble prostrates himself to the Aliens, graciously professing his thanks to the party. In particular, he fawns over the armored Raven, kissing her pale hand after a proper bow. "I, Aldern Foxglove am in your debt. Your mastery of the dark forces is truly awesome." He glances around nervously, almost expecting another goblin to jump at him, but sighs in relief when he doesn't see any. "I understand that you may have some more cleanup to do with these meddlesome goblins, not like yourself!", looking at KABOOM. "But, I am staying at the Rusty Dragon and would love to have a chance to talk with you and properly reward you for saving my life."

He then picks up the body of his now slain dog and heads back to the inn.

The remaining goblins in town have either been captured or fled, although some, either in futility or lack of foresight, decided to leap off of Junker's Edge for "freedom"

The rest of the Swallowtail Festival has been cancelled, with citizens either mourning, cleaning up debris, or taking account of losses, all otherwise trying to forget the day's horrors on what was to be a day of celebration.

However, before the Aliens depart, Ameiko Kaijitsu, greets the party with a Tien bow. "Rumors of your actions are already spreading throughout town; Aldern Foxglove has already begun to sing your praises with a bottle of my finest red.", she smiles. "I know many more lives would have been lost without your intervention. In case your homes were damaged from the attack, I'll offer you a free room at the Rusty Dragon for a week, meals included for the entire time. My little way to say, 'thank you, Aliens of Sandpoint'."

In fact, the next couple of days, it is unusual. Instead of the typical revulsion that the majority of the party receives, people are actually smiling and greeting. Well, most of the people. But still, Raven uncomfortably has people willing to approach her, although matters of religion quickly turn them away. KABOOM and Sevillief actually see an increase in business as the need for junk removal, scrapping, and alchemical aids increases in the short term. Ayanna has several people wanting her autograph; the interest in Cyrdak's newest show starring one of the now proclaimed "Heroes of Sandpoint" makes him giddy to no end. Finally, Orcetta likewise has an increase in popularity, especially among children who want to play with her little leshy familiar.

This is truly a highpoint for your popularity in Sandpoint, for better or worse.

Raven wasn't sure if she had ever had a more poignant moment of "be careful what you wish for" as she did now. Rationally she knows that being at least moderately accepted would help protect her in the future from retaliation but it would take some getting used to.
Raven is quick to take advantage of Foxglove's hospitality in order to try as many dishes as she is able, though she continues to live in her own dwelling.
Despite the tumultuous day, she does her best to focus her efforts on the burials. Many look upon the task poorly but it gives her some peace to reevaluate the town and where she fits into it.

Only Raven 'eh... continuing!

While Raven enjoys, and is surprised by her new popularity, she still proves useful in handling the deceased.

However, the respite is short lived as both she and Father Zantus realize that a tomb was desecrated... perhaps during the attack? Gathering the other Alien Heroes at the Cathedral, Sheriff Hemlock arrives as well to brief the party. "Th' Father is worried something went on in there. That's the previous priest's burial tomb: Ezakien Tobyn. He died in the fire that consumed the original church of Desna before you lot arrived. I'ma thinkin' it's just a lost goblin that's in there hidin', but I want you to follow me in for the investigation."

Pulling out a uniquely made axe, he motions the party to arm themselves for the worst case scenario as well. The sheriff asks Zantus to wait in the Cathedral as you move towards the Sandpoint Boneyard again.

During the short walk, Sheriff Hemlock makes some small talk. "I know it's been said plenty I'm sure, but thank you all for your help during the goblin raid. You lot have some unique skills that work well together. Don't suppose you're going to stay around the area for a bit?", he asks.

Orcetta cradles Irisai in her palm, stroking the creature's leaves lightly. "I would not have the conscience to depart in such a time of need, good law man." She peers across the graveyard ahead, biting her lip thoughtfully. "I still do not understand why humans must mark their dead with stones and 'tombs'. Trees are not honored this way."

"We don't do funerals for trees either, though likewise we don't harvest humans for furniture or shelter, either.", the Sheriff replies, giving the best answer he can muster to Orcetta's personal quandary.
