Gergof manages to bet get paralyzed. But the solid hit, plus tentacle and the fall threatens to black him out.
Calling on his Faith in Sarenrae he manages to refresh himself just a bit before he passes out.
Casts Hero's Defiance
Lay on Hands + Hero's Defiance: 4d6 + 1d6 ⇒ (5, 3, 6, 4) + (2) = 20
So had 50 Hp, took 26 from the claw, 15 more from the tenticle, have 9 left when the fall takes 11, but hero's defiance kicks in first which gives me 20 more. So I end with 18
Grergof stands up and as a standard action heals himself again.

Great to see you prepared. Hero's defiance is an immediate action. Nowhere it states that it uses up your swift. So LoH on swift and you can still attack if you like. But to cover all bases if it comes up again: things that are swift actions can't be done with move or standard actions. Also Hero's defiance gives you an additional d6

Aftersome discussion, we are backing out the last healing (as it acidentaly violates the rules) so adjust the HP down to 18 and w replace this with the following

As the beast and the monster are caught in a clinch Spugnoir chucks one of his bombs at it. The bomb burns into the monster severing the already worn out seams. The monsters movement is interrupted by it falling apart. And being just that - a pile of strange parts without life in them.
As the dust settles Waxwood comes flewn over to the large iron idol. He gestures at it, reaches into the eye slots and mimics to pull it open. From within you hear "Aaaaargh" in a fainting voice. The idol has no lock or obvious mechanism to open it.

Grergof looks at the beast strangely as he gets no response and then wanders over to look at the idol.
He is looking for cracks, how the thing is shut or any indication of how he can do something to open the idol without damaging what is inside.
As he focuses on the idol he distractedly says: Thanks, Mr Redgrave, that helps greatly.
