EF, I believe the wall of force was behind the guard, represented on the map by the blue line?
Edit: ok, so the blue line must be the wind wall. The wall of force doesn't have an icon, but I think it should have been between the guard and caster, right?

EndlessForms |

Yep, the blue box was the wind wall she put up in the first round, the gray box is the blade barrier she put up just now. I put a red line in where I think Tolgarov was putting the wall of force. It sounded like he wanted to block them off to buy you guys a round or two to recover.

If you check Tolgarov's Spellcraft spoiler, it says. Wall of Force behind the fighter

Yep I confirm my Wall is behind the guard. I don't think it could do something against us and I don't want him to be buffed by the caster.

Retcon!
Desmond will cast lead blade on his falchion.
"Hey Tol, Can you keep this wall up long enough for us to recover from that woman's curse?" (whatever it was that caused the temporary strength damage)

![]() |

I hope so. But I can't be sure at 100%. Though I will not be able to maintain it for those held. I can cast bull's strength and rage if needed

![]() |

While the woman is trapped, Maximo will end his bardic performance and use his wand to heal Desmond.
Cure Light Wounds: 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (5) + 1 = 6
Cure Light Wounds: 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (5) + 1 = 6
"Any helpful spells would be much appreciated." He says, watching the woman trough the wall. "How long do you suppose that will last?"

![]() |

That's enough for My bad stuff to wear off. Des will use three rounds to. use the last three charges from his wand on Sahrek.
3 CLW: 3d8 + 3 ⇒ (5, 4, 8) + 3 = 20
"Thanks for that healing, Maximo."
Desmond then sheathes his falchion, draws his bow and casts cat's grace on himself and gravity bow.
I count that as 5 rounds worth of actions. Plus what I previously posted - makes six rounds worth of actions for Desmond.

EndlessForms |

So Desmond has taken six rounds worth of actions; are you guys waiting the full 10 rounds? Go ahead and post actions if you are. She'll be doing stuff as well....

"We have her cornered." Maximo discusses tactics as he attends to Arnthoth's wounds. "I propose we offer one last chance to surrender. If I risk myself alone, her magic will have fewer targets, and I believe my faith in Shelyn will see me through any initial attack."
Cure Light Wounds on Arnthoth: 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (3) + 1 = 4
Cure Light Wounds on Arnthoth: 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (8) + 1 = 9
Cure Light Wounds on Arnthoth: 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (7) + 1 = 8
Cure Light Wounds on Arnthoth: 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (8) + 1 = 9
Maximo then takes up position at the wall, and calls upon his holy bond to enhance his greatsword. Divine Bond to add keen ability.
"Has anyone another spell of haste available? Or perhaps a way to dispel magic? It would seem she is preparing with a few enchantments of her own."
Can we see any visible preparations the woman is making?

Tolgarov casted bull's strength on his two comrades, then a mirror image.
Once all his comrades were buffed and prepared he waited for Maximo's signal to stop his Wall of Force his rod in hand.

I was thinking of making a run through it - since I have evasion and a boost to dexterity thanks to cat's grace.

Charging in seems unwise. Maybe we should have Tolgarovcast another wall of force so we make sure her short term spells run out (Zhal probably knows how long that wind wall should last). Then hit her from range and force her to come out.

EndlessForms |

Meanwhile the cleric continues to cast spells from behind her barriers:
Shen then takes out a wand and taps it to herself, suddenly moving faster.
Finally, she pulls out a potion and turns invisible after imbibing it.

Not sure where Zhal is but he can Identify those spells without even rolling a check (Spellcraft +22). He also has invisibility purge. If she just hasted herself we should definitely put up another wall of force and wait that and righteous might out before attacking.

![]() |

"Flight? Invisibility?" Maximo casts an unsure glance at his greatsword. "I propose backing off and fireballing the entire site from a distance. It is the only way to be sure."
Couldnt resist an Aliens quote. :)

EndlessForms |

Ok, to get things moving again and I think the best way to handle the standoff situation we've developed with the walls of force and her going invisible is to roll initiative again because basically as soon as you start making a hostile move or casting a hostile spell, she's going to retaliate with her own. So a new initiative is probably the best way to represent both side's reflexes when the standoff eventually ends:
Kesoulla: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (12) + 1 = 13
zhal: 1d20 + 0 ⇒ (6) + 0 = 6
desmond: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (3) + 7 = 10
max: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (10) + 1 = 11
arnoth: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (3) + 2 = 5
tolgarov: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (7) + 2 = 9
Heh. I guess she's got fast reflexes:
The air-walking evil cleric pops back into visibility as she finishes casting a spell, speaking into Desmond's mind: FLEE! LEAVE NOW!
DC 22 Will save or commanded to flee from the basement.
Initiative:
1. Kesoulla
2. Max, Desmond, Tolgarov, Zhal, and Arnoth
You guys are up!
@Zhal: feel free to retcon any buffs/nonoffensive actions you would have taken during the standoff.

![]() |

Maximo was going to restart his bardic performance right before the wall came down. I don't see her on the map. What is her position? Are the blade barrier and wind wall still there?
"For the love of all that is good, we will prevail! Use your arrows, use your magic!" Maximo continues to bolster his companions, and points a stern finger at the woman. "Your defeat is eminent!"
A small alchemist's bomb in hand, he prepares to throw it if she begins casting again.
Assuming the wind wall is down, I'll ready an action to shoot an arrow at her. If the wind wall is still up, then I'll try to demoralize her with intimidate.
Smite evil is still active.
Bomb Touch Attack: 1d20 + 8 + 5 ⇒ (13) + 8 + 5 = 26
1d6 + 1 + 5 ⇒ (3) + 1 + 5 = 9
I suppose you can convert this roll into intimidate (with a +12 bonus) if the wind wall is stil up.
One last thing - Maximo has the Saving Finale bard spell that he plans to use as an immediate action to give Desmond a second save if he fails the one against the command.

![]() |

Will Save: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (9) + 6 = 15 Re-roll: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (15) + 6 = 21
Despite the extra gumption provided by Maximo, Desmond is overcome by the wicked cleric's command and flees.
Unable to edit the map at this time. Someone move me, please. Thank you. I hope this turns out better than the last time Desmond was forced to run away - the rest of the party was killed.
