"I think now that we've decided to help Aishwarya we should go talk to her again and see how she proposes to handle the situation.. I have no doubt that we are being watched, so i think we should do this sooner than later.."

The tax collector is Iltame, I think that's who Seelah was referring to. That's who Aishwarya told you to eliminate one way or another, because it would weaken Dhanishta. When you last talked to Aishwarya her proposal was that you take out Iltame and help her defeat Dhanishta and in return Aishwarya will grant you access to the Annals.

Iltame was the nagaji woman standing in the room with Dhanishta.

"Should we go deal with Iltame then? If Aishwarya is only asking for a political favor, then perhaps we can spare the jewels to bribe her opponent into leaving town willingly."

"Sounds like a plan."

"Indeed.. How to get to Iltame without Dhanishta finding out? hmm..."

Iltame is with Dhanishta in the Exchange.

I do a lot of my work invisibly, surely there is a time where the two of them are not together.

"I have the invisibility spell as well and could cover the party easily if need be.."

They are together right now in the Exchange. Do you guys want to turn invisible and sneak back in? They are essentially always together at the Exchange.

Well if we go now we"ll surely have to fight them both plus the thugs all at once.. Perhaps we should go consult Aishwarya as to what she wishes us to do.. Didnt she say she would helping in the assault.. If it came to that?

"A wise choice, though I fear the cost of hesitation."

I believe Aishwarya said that if you took out Iltame she would be able to move her forces against Dhanishta. Presumably she would join then.

Let's inform Aishwarya that we are going to take out Iltame, How do you prepose we do it now?"

"Well, a letter seems a bit formal, though an audience for such a simple message seems impractical, and I haven't any wizard spells to send messages over a distance. Perhaps smoke signals would suffice if we had a set language. Maybe a foot messenger is ideal for the task then. Hmmm..." Seelah becomes lost in thought again.

"I can turn invisible and go speak to Aishwarya.. Doing this might avoid unwanted people from knowing which side we've taken. Maybe she can provide a suggestion of how to deal with Iltame.." With that she starts casting.. First Extended Mage Armor, Second Invis.

"I shall return shortly" With that she heads towards Aishwarya..

Upon arriving she'll try and let her presence known without Aishwarya.. "So we had made our decision.. We're gonna help you regain control and if successful you will let us have full viewing of the Annals.. Agreed? If so do you have any suggestions of how we should deal with Iltame without also fighting Dhanishta at the same time?"

The naga smiles at the invisible voice. "Very well, it is an agreement. Take out Iltame and help bring down Dhanishta and you will have full access to the Annals. Iltame never leaves Dhanishta's side but it is good that you came and talked to me. I have recent intelligence that Dhanishta doesn't care for the big-city nagaji accountant as much as many think. It seems that they both think of themselves as the puppet master and the other as the puppet and both secretly despise each other. I have a hunch that Dhanishta wouldn't flinch if Iltame died right in front of her."

Upon returning.. "Ok so ive spoken to Aiswarya and she tells me the Dhanishta are always together, but that she probably wouldn't stop us if we took care of her.. Now i doubt that means bribing her to leave, but if she thinks we mean to kill her, we probably wouldn't be stopped.. Apparently they think of each other as puppets.."

"What do you say to this plan? Lady Selena and I will be invisible and nearby. Lady Seelah and Oxriane will start a dialouge Iltame, while Oxriane speaks Lady Seelah will detect evil and smite with all her fury when confirmed evil or at Seelah's leisure. Selena will blast and control, while I set up flanking opportunities for you two warriors."

"Sounds like a solid plan to me.. Here Ox, have a bit more armor.."

Cast mage armor on Ox.. Lasting 7 hours.

"This seems acceptable. If she is indeed evil, she will fall swiftly to my blade."

"With what words will I start a dialogue? I have no knowledge of the language."

"That's part of the fun, act like you are looking for the two of us. Pantomime, jump up and down, get frustrated that he can not understand you. The language barrier should prevent him from detecting your subterfuge."

"Alright well lets get on with it.. When we comfront Iltame i say just plow on in.. Between the 3 of you it shouldn't be an issue.. Ill stay invisible till we see what Dhanishta's crew is gonna do.."

On the way there she will cast extended shield and drink her potion on cat's grace.. She slso cats mage armor on Oxirane

Sorry, forgot to mention when you met with them but Dhanishta and Iltame speak Common. They are probably the only people in town who do.

You enter the exchange (some of you invisibly) and find Dhanishta sitting before the door, with Iltame standing next to her. The naga addresses you "And what do you want now? Has your party had a disagreement and you two are the only ones who have seen the right way about things?"

Oxirane tosses the bag of gems in front of Iltame. "The lady has an offer to make you."

All yours Seelah. I'm not going to try to Diplomacize with my 5 CHA.

Selena will move on in and try to see what other guards and such might be here..

There are three nagaji guards standing in the background, resolute and waiting for a word for Dhanishta.

Dhanishta straightens up a bit at Oxirane's crudeness. "What's this? Are you buying me off? Please, I do this for my people. What did you really come here for, did you give your friends the slip?" She grins.

"We should like to persuade you to leave town for a time. Your continued presence here puts many lives in danger. With tensions high, if you would simply go into hiding for a week or so, I feel that it would be best for your safety and for ours."

Diplomacy: 1d20 + 13 ⇒ (10) + 13 = 23

Don't forget any bonuses to Diplomacy from the 5k gp in gems.

The naga smiles as if to a small child. "Dear, your money will not make me leave. I like you lot, but this is about the fate of Nibung. I shall rule and Nibung shall change for the better."

Were Selena and Thoth going to jump in and do something? Surprise round attacks against Iltame maybe?

I was gonna see what Dhanishta's people were gonna do when the fight starts and cast haste first round.. And im pretty sure he was offering the gems to Iltame to leave not Dhanishta..

Iltame scoffs at the bag of gems and lifts her nose to it. "I can not be bought that easily."

Selena casts Haste in the surprise round but is still invisible. Is Thoth doing anything in the surprise round?

Dhanishta looks a bit confused at the disembodied voice but says to her men, "Wait."

If you guys are jumping into rounds, Iltame will be first after Thoth takes his surprise round action:

Selena casts Haste and Thoth invisibly studies his target. At the disembodied words of Selena, Dhanishta curiously tells her men to hold off as Iltame drops the folder of papers she was carrying and morphs into what appears to be some sort of large ogre. At a simple word the entire room becomes darker (casting Darkness). The room is now dim light.

Selena then shoots a couple scorching rays at Iltame.

caster level check: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (8) + 7 = 15

Selena's spell doesn't seem to bite through Iltame's tough hide, though.

The invisible Thoth starts barking the Iltame's secrets to his companions.

"Resistance magic will not work that well against this foe Selena. Fire and acid for the kill. Oxriane, Seelah she is capable of flight."

I can not access the map until this evening.

Seelah casts righteous vigor on Oxirane, then steps into combat range with Iltame and draws her longsword. 5-foot step

The scorching rays were selenas first round action.. I'm guessing she's immune to fire then?

Selena frowns at her spell doing nothing.. Well to the other tactic then..

@Selena: She's not immune to fire (read what Thoth yelled out). She has Spell Resistance. I rolled your caster level check for you but it wasn't high enough.

Fire kills them dead and stops their regeneration.

I see.. Well she only has 1 spell that doesn't allow SR besides a cantrip so ill try that i suppose..

Oxirane steps forward and unleashes a flurry of blows, including a blast of acid.

Swift action to go into Shaitan Style. 5-foot step up and left. Flurry of blows, with Elemental Fist (acid) on the second attack.
