"You guys find anything interesting ... what next?"
Arovandeon Isero |
"I have read something about this." Arovandeon says, stepping to the mural. "The lesser figures clustered around the central figure on this mural depict noted wizards of ancient days. As you can see, the central figure wears a brooch, recessed half an inch below the surface here. The pieces of the brooch we have found are parts from what was called Beldrin’s sigil. I believe the pieces, when assembled and pressed against this location, will activate magic to open the wall behind, allowing access to a passage leading to Beldrin’s vault."
Gesturing to the inset brooch and his assembled pieces, he asks. "Shall we open it?"
Arovandeon Isero |
Arovandeon nods to Mella, but before placing the brooch he reaches for a vial hanging from a chain around his neck. Flicking a small catch, the stopper opens on a small hinge allowing him to quickly upend and consume the contents.
Preserved in an alchohol solution, the mutagen burned going down and had an aftertaste of almonds and paraffin oil. Almost instantly a tingling sensation began at the back of his neck, then in the tips of his fingers. His jaw clenched as the muscles in his body contracted of their own accord. It left him weakened physically, but the benefits far outweighed the drawbacks. A moment later the tingling in his neck rushed upwards, setting his brain afire.
He then puts the brooch into to slot and steps quickly away, taking up position behind his companions.

Placing Beldrin’s sigil into the relief in the mosaic causes the stones in the wall to magically divide, creating a doorway to what was once a stairwell to one of Beldrin’s vaults. Unfortunately, debris now fills the stairway, and when the wall opens, the rubble spills out making an unearthly racket. The rubble from the stairs is climbable, but the whole chamber is treated as difficult terrain.

"No choice but to proceed." Arovandeon whispers, examining the stairs.

Arovandeon Isero |
Making instant calculations, Arovandeon licked a finger, then reached down to pull free one of the small spheres tied to his belt. He nudged free a small cork from it and tapped the interior with his wet finger. Just inside was an alchemical mixuture of resin, naphtha, and Alkenstar quicklime. His saliva activated this stubstance like a fuse, which quickly burned inwards towards a central core of natrium and pale phosphate.
Of course it wasn't quite as simple as that. The components had to be perfectly measured and combined, the ceramic sphere airtight. And the tonic he drank every day to prime his saliva was another matter altogether.
The bomb ready, he took aim and hurled it.

Also, Dex don't you have Point Blank Shot? I think you should be getting +1 to hit and damage.

On the Devourer of Reason’s person is a scroll case with the same designs as those on the door to Ralzeros’s magical chamber, the Ineffable Pattern. There is no obvious way to open the case, and the thing is made of a durable copper-colored metal equivalent in strength to mithral. It emits no magical aura and seems impossible to use in conjunction with the portal in the Blakros Museum, though it is clear the two objects were made for one another.
Having avenged Anumet’s gruesome murder and collected the key to Ralzeros’s mysterious chamber, you are toasted by their peers at the Grand Lodge. The Society locks away the mysterious key to the Ineffable Pattern until the time is right for Pathfinders to investigate the museum’s mysterious portal. You receive the gratitude of Nigel Aldain and the well-connected Blakros family.
