Hob does indeed nick the former archer, now hatchet-man. Zaldur is ready for the guard's basic attack, knocking it aside. Across the compound the remaining archer seeks revenge on the bard, but is unable to hit his target. The arrow explodes inches away from Archybald head as he climbs onto the ledge.

Okay, I was just checking to see if any healing was happening. Moving forward.

This open courtyard is paved with flagstones and relatively free of debris. Statues ring the central open area, each depicting a tiger-headed man in a martial arts stance. Behind the statues are four sets of stairs. The stairs to the north descend into darkness, and the stairs on the south side once led upward, but have collapsed in a heap.

The walls of this inner structure have partly collapsed and range from 15 to 30 feet high. The remains of stairs on the south side that once led up to balconies above are now little more than heaps of rubble. In the two corners on the north side, intact stairs descend into the darkness below. The courtyard is open to the sky and has a flagstone floor, and most of the rubble here has been cleared away. Statues of tiger-headed men in a variety of martial arts poses surround the open space in the middle.

Marching order for the stairs...should you choose to descend.

The Exchange

She checks the tiger's teeth for sharpness with a metal finger tip "Cat-face. This has got to be it, right? What's the bead on that wayfinder?" she glances over at the wandering needle.

This large basement room is set up as a workshop. Four workbenches are covered with odd tools. Three men and one woman work at the benches, each chained in place by a heavy iron collar. They keep their heads down as they work, ignoring your arrival. At either end of the hallway, two of the bandits from the other night stand watch. Watching you come down the stairs, the one with a red leather jerkin shouts, "Hey! Get outta here! I ain't gonna tell you again."
