Krios Dinrulsis |
Krios's face tilts in a questioning look as Sheriff Hemlock stepped in closer. The sigh that left seemed terribly reluctant as Krios shrugged a little. "W-we just did what was right. I'm sorry if we've caused any problems for you." That apologetic mindset just disappeared when the sheriff just said what he needed them to do and and a wide smile began to spread along his face.
"T-the mayor wants us...to help? They really want us to help?" A wave of excitement built in Krios's stomach that made the horrors of the day before seem to lessen somewhat. "Yeah, we'll definitely be able to help! Do you have any idea what it is about?" The young elf's voice is still bridled with excitement as he pester Hemlock for more information.
Adarion Ysavil |
Adarion smiles and nods. "Of course! I'd be happy to help. You should stand behind me when we look, just in case. They may be small, but goblins can be vicious little creatures, especially when cornered. Downstairs in the shop, you said?" he says, pushing energy towards the surface of his skin. A shimmering layer of light moves in a wave from his head to his feet, fading as it moves and leaving a faint distortion behind it on the surface of his skin. He begins to move carefully towards where the girl heard the noise.

A look of confusion passes over Adarion's face as the young woman pulls him towards the back of the room. As the woman begins flirting with him, he suddenly understands what's happening and a smile begins to form on his face. "Although I didn't do it for a reward, it would be ungracious of me to refuse such a thoughtful gift," he says with a cheeky grin. Adarion arches an eyebrow playfully, still grinning, saying, "Perhaps there's a way I can repay you for your thoughtfulness." Casting prestidigitation, he slowly twists his hand, directing streams of air to flow over certain sensitive areas of the young woman's body.
Noro Kasuri |
Noro strides past the thug, making her way to the docks. and despite her better judgement, she goes to Jubrayl's usual hangout.
she had hoped to go to the warehouse that she has a small fight gym set-up but she knows that Jubrayl would just track her down and make things worse.
What she says to him when she finds him, in a sarcastic tone.

You are obviously caught up in the moment and fail to hear footsteps as another, older man descends the stairs. He sees you and the girl and stops in his tracks his face turning bright red. "What in the nine Hell's is going on here!"
The girl, obviously caught up in the moment, only notices the man when he speaks and quickly tries to cover herself up "Daddy! You're not supposed to be home yet!"
The man storms the rest of the way down the stairs over toward the cot and looks you square in the eyes "By the Gods, you better get talking before I knock your block off!"
He rubs his hands together greedily "I've already got a fight lined up for tonight and I expect you to put on a glorious show. Be sure to win also. With you being a hero now, we need to hype you up a bit before we knock you down a peg and create a good ole rivalry that we can play on."
His smirk still present he shrugs "So what do you say? A few more good fights. You win and lose as I tell you to and you can get on with your life, all debts forgiven and no hard feelings."
Krios Dinrulsis |
Not only did the sheriff want them to all meet the mayor, not something he wasn't expecting to see or hear about, but he actually needed Krios for some help in regards to the graveyard. There was a moment of absolute glee upon the elf's face before he calms himself down and gives a more serious nod. "Whatever I can help with, Sheriff. You know I'm good for it, lead the way." Krios did a better job at hiding his excitement now, as he made his way with the important man through town and back to the church.
Adarion Ysavil |
Oh Sh*t xD! Time to hope the dice roll in my favour!
Adarion, still fully dressed at this point, turns around at the angry shout to see a very irate and red-faced man storming over to him. Oh Gods, time to get inventive.
"Please Sir! It's not what it looks like," he says holding his hands out soothingly towards the man. "You see Sir, I'm a magic user," Adarion says, casting prestidigitation to demonstrate that fact. "Your daughter had an unfortunate incident occur to her during the goblin attack, a goblin curse if I had to guess. She heard about my magic after the attack and came to me to see if I could help. Luckily, I was able to fix it. She didn't tell you because the curse affected a rather...sensitive area. An embarrassing place to talk to her father about, if you know what I mean. Not to worry though, it's all sorted now. Although I may need to come back for a second consultation to make sure everything is fully dispelled... if that's okay with you?"

So lucky he has a poor Charisma :P
The girl, picking up on what you are trying to do chimes in "It's true Daddy. He was a huge help and I mean... he could have just saved my life. You can't be angry with him!"
The man glares at you a moment before taking a deep breath "Well... if that's the case, I suppose I owe you my thanks." He shrugs, then shakes his head before continuing "However, I don't think a second visit will be necessary, especially unsupervised. If there are any further issues, I will take her to see father Zantus." The man visibly eases and un-clenches his fists, then nods his head toward the stairs, obviously ready for you to leave.
Krios Dinrulsis |
The excitement got caught inside of Krios's face for the moment before he gave a small nod, clearing his throat. Embarrassed at his own excitement, he nodded. "I-I'll find them sheriff. See you at the cemetery then."
Brushing off the dirt and grass that clung to him, Krios would begin to search through the town looking for the others. He had a solid idea at least where Noro was but his father had been clear to stay away from those sorts. Even now, he would rather find some of the others before departing down to the docks.
Adarion Ysavil |
Finally able to post again! Also...Haha can't believe that worked xD
He smiles at the man, then nods "No thanks are necessary. I was happy to help!" He listens as the man continues and nods again, "Of course! Father Zantus is a talented healer, he is a good choice!"
Taking the hint from the man, he gives a shallow bow to both of them saying, "I'll take my leave then. If you need me for anything else, you can find me at the Rusty Dragon Inn. Ask the innkeeper for Adarion."
With that, he heads back up the stairs and exits onto the street, a slight skip to his steps once he leaves the shop. I can't believe that actually worked! he thinks, a smile forming on his face.

Nyx Xyn |
I haven't been doing anything in particular of note, but if I'm not at the Rusty Dragon I'm somewhere around Sandpoint using my new free-snacks privilege and talking with whoever's offering.
Marvin Inkwell |
Marvin puts some finishing touches on the current section of his map, stretches, and wanders down to the bar of the inn for some food.
Noro Kasuri |
Noro ponders the offer with this additional information.
I'll agree, But, I reserve the right to kick someone's a$$ if they deserve it.
She chugs some rum, and goes to leave, Thanks for the offer, but I have work to do.
anyone from Sandpoint would know Noro works on the docks and can almost always be found there when she is not at the Dragon.
Krios Dinrulsis |
The elf walks down the street, keen eyes picking people out of the crowd in seconds. It doesn't take much for him to immediately recognize the elf that had fought beside him, his hair kept in a specific manner that was different than the rest of the community of elves.
Stepping in stride with him, he would smile and give a nod. "Adarion! It is good to see you friend. You seem to be in a good mood." He looks back the direction where his friend had come from, the merchant studying the two of them with suspicious but not unfriendly eyes and the girl who grinned just as wide as his sorcererous friend.
"The sheriff wants to speak with us. N-not in a bad way though. In a 'help us, you're heroes' kind of way! Then...the mayor wants to speak with us! We need to find the others." The excitement for adventure was infectious in the younger elf's voice, a grin spreading on his face.
"I think the others are at the Rusty Dragon. Noro should be at the docks, I think." His voice lost some of its mirth at the mention of her and his lips pressed tightly together. "I-I'll have to deal with that. Soon."
Adarion Ysavil |
Adarion nods at Krios, his grin still firmly in place. "Good mood indeed, Krios!" He maintains his almost-skipping walk as they continue on down the street.
"The Sheriff... and the Mayor? Hmm... maybe they want our help with something related to the goblins? Interesting. Should we collect Noro at the docks first then?" Adarion doesn't notice Krios' reaction, so lost in his own good mood.
GM Dak |
Krios and Adarion make their way back the Rusty Dragon and find Nyx and Marvin there. Explaining the situation they all set off toward the docks to find Noro. It doesn't take much effort to find her and they explain the situation. Once everyone agrees and it nears the appointed time you all head off to the cemetery near the new cathedral. As you get close you see Sheriff Hemlock waiting near the gate. When he notices you approaching he waves you over.
"Come, let's go speak with Father Zantus and see what this is all about."
Noro Kasuri |
for Noro this is a little odd, she usually only has dealings like this when there are nefarious plans afoot or when the law is involved, then Noro is usually the suspect.
she does seem a bit nervous at all of this but she stays a little close to Krios and that seems to ease her a bit.
I hope this doesn't involve me getting locked up, I have a rather important...ahhh, appointment, tonight
Marvin Inkwell |
Marvin looks surprised but a bit pleased to have been asked to come along. "Curious business, isn't it? Making trouble at a cemetery. Who's there to bother?"
Krios Dinrulsis |
"A lot of people...though...it depends on what kind of people you're looking to bother..." Krios said idly in response to Marvin's question. He had heard stories before of nercomancers, those skills in the arts of reanimation and controlling the undead. As the thought began to settle into the elf's mind, he slowly found himself a little less interested in what the excitement could be about.
Adarion Ysavil |
Adarion nods at the Sheriff and follows as he beckons to the group. As Marvin begins talking he looks over, saying "Curious indeed! Perhaps the relatives of those buried there or the caretakers? Could be some leftover Goblins causing trouble, damaging graves or the like. We'll find out shortly I'm sure." He begins humming as he walks along, clearly in a good mood.
Nyx Xyn |
”Yes, what is this about indeed. Magic, I suspect. Speaking of magic, would you all care for some? It makes me feel so…alive.”
Nyx casts guidance on any of his newfound allies who don’t overtly object.
GM Dak |
Sheriff Hemlock leads you around the cemetery and into the new cathedral where Father Zantus is tending to a few people who look like they were injured in the attack yesterday. As he notices your entrance he comes over to meet you all and looks to the sheriff "Thank you for coming, I see you brought the town heroes with you."
He smiles and slightly nods his head toward the rest of you before continuing "I'm sorry to trouble you all, but with the attack I would rather be safe and I am still tending to some of the injured from yesterday. I was walking the grounds this morning and noticed that one of the crypts had been disturbed. Likely something to do with the goblin attack, but to be safe I didn't check and instead sent a runner to seek aid from the Sheriff. One little oddity however, this crypt was the resting place for Sandpoints previous father, Father Tobyn." He shrugs briefly "I don't know if that matters or not, but I thought it odd."
Krios Dinrulsis |
Krios would nod at Nyx's offer, letting him cast the magic upon him. It filled him with a stronger sense of confidence now. "Thank you Nyx." The elf would say as they approached the old cemetery, passing around it, and entering into the new cathedral. Father Zantus was there waiting for them among some of the other survivors from the other day. Krios would blush a little at the mention of "town heroes". It was strange, almost surreal, that people he had been raised to respect them were paying as much attention to him as they were now.
Krios would listen in carefully, the shy look disappearing and a more serious one appearing upon his face. A look of confusion came to his face as the man mentioned that the crypt had been opened and that it was Father Tobyn's. "That...is strange. Was anything gone? Missing? Disturbed? Maybe...it was a prankster or a thief?"
Marvin Inkwell |
Marvin nods. "Well, good job you've got us here then." The tengu looks around the area thoughtfully. "Ah, the park is - that way?" He gives a loud caw, and after a few moments of conversation a large dog comes bounding up to the group. "Lovely. Anything hiding in there, Luna will sniff it right out."
Adarion Ysavil |
"Of course Father, I'd be happy to help search the crypt!" Adarion blinks in surprise as the Tengu lets out his loud caw and a smile blooms across his face as the dog comes running up to the group a few moments later. This will certainly be interesting!
Adarion nods towards Marvin, " I will let you and the lovely Luna lead the way." Adarion concentrates for a moment and a layer of rippling light moves from his head down to his feet.
Adarion casts Mage Armour
GM Dak |
As everyone appears ready to go Father Zantus adds "I will let the Sheriff take you there, he knows which crypt it is. I need to still tend to those who have been injured."
Sheriff Hemlock nods in agreement and looks to the rest of you "This way." He leads you back out to the cemetery and toward one of the crypts near the wall. As you approach you can see the door is slightly ajar.
Roll20 map updated.
Marvin Inkwell |
Marvin frowns at the open doorway and draws his bow, setting it aglow with a silvery light. Light. Stepping forward, he scans the crypt for signs of the supernatural. Detect magic.
Noro Kasuri |
Noro steps a way from the dog as it approaches, she seems to not be good around dogs apparently.
Yeah, lets figure this out and be on our way. Noro adds, feeling a bit on edge
Krios Dinrulsis |
The others seemed so confident in their abilities, in their skills. It was a bit intimidating to be truthful. Quietly, Krios filtered to the back as the others came up with the plan. When it seemed certain that they were going to be making their way to the crypt, Krios would clear his throat. "I...uh...I got sharp eyes. Same with my ears. Well...basically sharp everything. I guess." He'd murmur out, looking at the big dog that had approached. "I'll keep alongside Luna, just in case I notice anything else that is strange...you know?" With the approval of the others, Krios would make his way towards the front and smile at the large animal. "G-good dog." He whisper out as they followed the sheriff into the cemetery and towards the crypt.
There was an uncomfortable itch climbing between his shoulders or maybe it was just to be walking among the buried dead. Krios didn't like it here; too many people he knew came and went while he was still a child. When the crypt came into sight with its foreboding, open door, he'd swallow hard once and look at the others. "I'll check it out."
With careful, quiet steps, Krios approached. It seemed ridiculous to be so wary of something so innocuous, a place that he had passed by countless times before. Yesterday told him though that his father's lessons seemed to not be in vain; preparation and caution were important in all thing.
Stealth: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (13) + 6 = 19Perception: 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (12) + 12 = 24
Despite never being trained by the operatives that Adarion had seen in his skirmishes back at the home, it was obvious that Krios was skilled in moving carefully. With each graceful step, he moved over towards that partially open door. All senses were on high alert; sight, hearing, scent. Looking through that opened portal while exposing as little of himself as he could, he would try to see if there was anything strange, dangerous, or out of the ordinary to warn his companions about.
GM Dak |
Krios Dinrulsis |
Krios's eyes narrow as he stares into the darkness, looking inside to see what awaits. His vision adjusts for the darkness inside and as it does, he catches sight of the things lingering within. Motionless but deadly nonetheless, he could see the pale figures in the dark standing silently there. His face went pale and he'd step back quickly, retreating back to his allies.
"T-there are skeletons in there. Three of them, from what I could see." He said nervously, looking between them all. "What should we do?"
Adarion Ysavil |
Adarion moves slowly towards the door to the crypt, making sure to stay well behind his more robust companions while also trying to look and listen for anything noteworthy. As he moves his eyes light up with a dull glow. Casts Detect Magic.

Marvin Inkwell |
"Skeletons? Well, it is a crypt..." Marvin blinks in realization. "Oh. Right. The moving kind."
Luna flattens her ears and whines.
Nyx Xyn |
Nyx blinks at Adarion. ”How does one kill that which is already dead? That sounds rather impossible. I vote we destroy them instead.”
Krios Dinrulsis |
Krios thought about it as the group discussed among themselves. He had no real official teaching about the undead but when you were over a hundred years old, it gave you some leeway in what you might have read, seen, or overheard.

The sheriff stands by as you all discuss "Well are you all going to just talk about it all day or actually do something about it? I wanted to see how you can handle things in person."
Marvin Inkwell |
Marvin's eyes narrow in determination. "Destroy them, yes. Smashing and such. Very good." Once everyone's in position and has spells or weapons at the ready, Marvin steps up to the crypt door and swiftly pushes it open, light spilling inside. Do we get a surprise round?
Krios Dinrulsis |
With the sheriff's prompting, Krios looks somewhat put off for a moment before he mumbles to himself. "Just thought it better to be prepared, you know..." Drawing out the short blades, he follows in beside Marvin as the doors are tossed open and sunlight shines in upon the undead within.
Adarion Ysavil |
Adarion chuckles softly at Nyx's quip. ""That's true! Destroy would be a better word to use. You understood my sentiments though. Remove them forcibly from being a problem!"
At the sheriff's jibe, Adarion turns around, "Surely you appreciate the importance of a small bit of planning to help prevents mistakes, Sheriff. After all, if we mess up, you're the one who's going to have to deal with it!" he says with a wry grin.
As Marvin prepares to open the crypt door fully energy coalesces around Adarion's fist, ready to be flung at the skeleton closest to the door that he can see.
Adarion prepares Magic Missile for the closest skeleton he can see.

Noro makes her way next to the door near Marvin. When everyone is ready Marvin swings the doors open. As light spills into the dusty old crypt, you see that there are four disturbed tombs inside, three of which have skeletons standing nearby.
