Round 3
Rosala stand on the cart looking on at the fight, she stops singing.
As it looks like the Shield wall want last much longer. Another Rosala comes around the cart and the one on it jumps off and joins her.
::"Weave drop another deeper darkness on the Thudder user, drop the darkness at the shield wall once we have them all dealt with. You task s I want that whole back end Darkness. Lets see where it gos from there. Sharptalon stay there while I get the troops to move this Cart forward to make new definitive line. Canaan stay put, I want any more troops that come our way while me move the cart sniped. Akumu I want you the otherside of the dark over the trench we have to take. Scout out what is in theat trench and tell me when the Thudder user come out the darkness. You have task now hope to."::
They walk to the troops dealing with the last of the shield wall fighters, one stops while the other walks on, the one that stops says.
"Finish them off Lads"
once done
"Well done lads"
Then into her troops minds
::"Now go back to the cart, I want it moved forward to make our now barricade line at the end of this lining trench, understood!."
The one that walked past the fight gos along to the new dark area where the thudder was and calls out.
"Come on you big lump of lard, have a go at me again if you dare"
Then to the others.
::"Once the thudder is dealt with I am going to make my command post back in our trench. I was told other troops would be coming soon. Once they are here, we will have to hold this contenting trench and scout and take the old trench it links to. I'm having the troops move the cart all the way along to the end of this trench. Canaan if you can hit from that range good, if not come down and find a new spot here in this trench. I expect a counter attack soon, so before we start taking back that last trench we will have to deal with that, soo save spells and ammunition. weave consider yourself promoted, Corporal, your ranking after I head off to set up the command post and medical point. Try not to get everyone killed, gents, this looks like its going to be one %&£&ing long day."::
Akumu
"Weaver, I told you you need to tell me which direction that thing with the Thudder is."
Unable to see anything, Akumu activates his invisibility then flies out of the deeper darkness.
War of Dragonfires Alias
Per the map, Akumu is at the chunk of bad guy outside of the darkness. He can attack and move away.
::If I am always creating more darkness, then I am not killing him and I am preventing others from killing him. I suspect that a mix of darkness and attacks would work better.::
He will wait for Akumu to attack before throwing another cloud of darkness behind the Thudder user and flying in closer.

::"Your there Akumu, if you think that will take him down while stopping him do it. Just push that thing back or kill it, so we can move our line and the cart down to make our new barricade. The troops will need that cover for then NEXT attack. Akumu, Sharptalon, Canaana your all on taking that thing out with Akumu, so attack it."::
She go's back to moving the cart and making the new barricade.

Fate: 1d20 ⇒ 1
Looking at this, I realize I do have time to post. The Thudder goes off and leaves a sizeable crater in the trench wall behind the illusory Incendia.
1d20 ⇒ 20
He sniffs at the illusion and seems to dismiss it. He continues to fall back into his own trench, driven on by the chasing darkness as he powers up his Thudder yet again.
War of Dragonfires Alias
Weaver will direct Akumu on how to attack. ::Back a few feet, then to the east and you can get him. Then move and I will keep him in darkness for the rest of his life.::
After that he will simply cast Deeper darkness on himself and move to hove over the enemy.

Ynja Eva Ragnavold
Ynja makes her way to the Front, it had taken longer than she thought, She had been given orders to meet with an Intelligence Officer called
Lady Rosala. Some high burn chinless wounder no doubt. She her self was Intelligence, the rummer was that the other side where sending some new kind of evilness this way. They where trying to brake the line here and intelligence wanted to know just what they had sent. Back in the city clever minds than hers would work how to deal with what was sent to kill them. All she had to do was worry about getting a good look with out being killed.
She made her way past the medical tents, up ahead she could hear the booms of a thudder.
F&£*! who ever is up there is getting it, and its the way I'm headed.
She pupped her head up to take a fast look to the trench up ahead. But all she could see was areas of utter darkness. Well seems some ones under cover. She ducked down again. Now she was in the last safe trench, She had the root in her head having seen a simple map. There was the entrance to what would be the for-would command post. She ducked and ran getting to it. A trooper was hurt but also standing Guard at the entrance. She looked at her all back uniform, Intelligence always got that look. All intelligence where officers, its just some where more than others. She was of the 'other', bottom rank, Just scrapped in. He thought a moment, seeing the fangs, then made his mind up and saluted, she returned it.
"Commander Rosala in"
She asked.
"No mama, at the front Mama, there has been some trouble, she and some others... are dealing with it Mama."
She shot back.
She looked back at the darkness. Well they had said this was going to the hotspot, and they where not joking. She looked back at him.
"I'm Second Lieutenant Ynja, I'm here to set up for-would command post for Commander Rosala and be her second. I have been told to expect more troops of an... Irregular nature to be sent here. Some maybe in Chines, if they come, send them into here. understand."
He nodded, She moved to head into what was going to be the new command post, but stopped.
"O if you see a runner, send them to Commander Rosala and tell her I am here as her relief. That will be all"
Then she headed into the bunker. Inside it was a mess, who ever had been using it had left in a hurry. There was some blood so they may have been some fighting. She lifted off her Backpack and pulled form it all that was needed to make this whole some thing like a command post. Fold out table, Bed, seats and maps. Clearing space and setting them up quickly. While she worked she tried not to look at the blood. She had had the huger for a few days now and it was to tempting. Intelligence pricked the real interesting types she had once been told. The ones in peace time that would have been locked up or hunted down. Ones like her, a blood drinker, she touched her chest, the thing in there gave her some release but the smell of fresh human blood. It was hard but soon she was done. Now all she needed to do was wait for the commander to come back and any others who showed up for this 'big push'. She looked over at the blood once more, she just hope she could feed.
GM Choon
At the front, the tactic of dropping darkness and chasing the Thudder down proves to be frightfully effective. It takes a long time, but you eventually wear him down. He falls, but as he does so his weapon shorts out and explodes! All of you are thrown back into the trench's walls and suffer minor injuries.
When you return to your line you see that the 42nd has moved up and formed a new barricade. The men look tired, but eagre now that they are pushing back.
You make your way back to the forward command post. Someone has gone and made the place almost livable.
Go ahead and introduce yourselves/ RP your withdrawal and I'll get us rolling as soon as everyone's in.
Akumu
"My task is complete. I'm freeee!" Akumu lets loose a howl of trimuph. He briefly appears as a sickly green glowing ball of light bobbing up and down before he vanishes to the vast horizon beyond...never to be seen again.
Akumu
A muscled fiendish looking tiefling in a simple explorer's outfit walks into to the command tent. "Officer Rosola."He places his right hand on his heart, then bows."Among my tribe is a legend of this powerful warrior who sowed death and destruction among his enemies, leaving nightmares in his wake. He is known as the Akumu. I have come to take take up his mantle. It is our way. When one falls, or abandons the mantle, another will be called to replace him."
"Please call me Akumu. In taking the title, I have relinquished everything of my former life, and my sole purpose is to prove myself worthy of the mantle."
Lady Incendia Anisha Rosala
It had take ages but at last the thing fell, she ran over to is prone from seeking the thudder, bending over it she reach out, then it sparked then once more she felt like a grate best had kicked her. More ear ringing and daylight. That had kicked her out of the darkness. She got up, more pain, but still going.
She looked around just in time to see Akumu cry out and disappear. Well it had helped when needed so there was that.
::"Weave, I have an urgent task for you. Go back down the lines to HQ, tell them we took a thudder out, how we did it and most of all that they are rigged to blow if you kill the operator. This is vital information, also tell them we have stopped the advance for now but I'm convinced this is where they will try to brake through our lines. There where shock troops with that thudder sent to soffen us up. So make this imperative, tell them to keep sending troops no matter what kind. Go at once weave, this is top priority."::
Then she walks to what was left of the 42ed, now making the new barricade.
"Well done men, stand the line here, reinforcements are coming. We did a good job today. 1st time we took down a Thudder with out big magic so, be proud of yourselves."
She past a couple on the back as she makes her way to what had been designated the new forward command post.
As she walked in she spotted a Black uniform, quickly standing to attention and saluting.
::"Who the £&*"* are you?"::
She sent, as flopping down into a fold out seat. She took out a small cigar lit in and looked up and the junior officer. Then as if rembering she saluted back
Ynja Eva Ragnavold
She had just been sorting the bed, when her commander walked in. She knew her at once. It was hard to, the cold feeling down her back told her who is was. There where stories, but right now all she could think of was to quickly stand to attention and salute.
She watch as Commder Rosala sat and then jolted a little as she spoke into her head.
"Second Lieutenant, Ynja Eva Ragnavold Mama, she shot back"
once returned she dropped the salute.
Lady Incendia Anisha Rosala
"Right the blood drinker, I remember, well your in the right place for that Second Lieutenant Ynja, lot of blood round here."
Then she stopped as a runner name in with a list. A list of the hurt and injured. She thought a moment.
::"Sharptalon, I have a new task for you. We beat the big thing with the thudder gun. But we have many hurt men that need to get back to teh medical tents and fast. You are fast, So I want to to fly them back to be helped. Do you understand, The hurt men will be strapped to you back. All you need to is fly them back and come get more understood. This is your key task now."::
She sent then broke contact with him.
"Sorry need deal with the wounded. So they sent you, well the task here is simple, take back was the 42ed last to the Thudder attack. That should be simple but for the fact that was only the start. We have word that the other side will be sending some mean things this was and we happy few have to stop them. Now I can't be at the front and here at the same time. I don't have cloning powers. So you Second Lieutenant Ynja will be my eyes and ears at the front. I will link to you mind and so you can talk to me about what the ^&*££ is going in, while I try and get this part of our defenses something like whole again. For now make a space for yourself over there and wait for your new troops to show up. I have what left of the 42ed manning a barricade down the connecting trench. That should hold or an while but we need to push back out and retake out front-line trench as soon as we can. I want it clear on enemy by night fall, now dismissed."
Another salute and she then picked up a map and started to fix what had changed v the battle line.
Ynja Eva Ragnavold
Ynja Salted back and then headed over to place her own bad out. Making room for the few things she had. Once done he places the bag of holding on the commanders bed, and started to make coffee.
Lady Incendia Anisha Rosala
A muscled fiendish looking tiefling in a simple explorer's outfit walks into to the command
tentBunker Its underground. "Officer Rosola."He places his right hand on his heart, then bows."Among my tribe is a legend of this powerful warrior who sowed death and destruction among his enemies, leaving nightmares in his wake. In taking the title, I have relinquished everything of my former life, and my sole purpose is to prove myself worthy of the mantle."
Rosala, Looks up from her map, stands and returns his salute.
"Good to have you here Akumu, your predecessor did well in battle. I hope you prove to be just as good in the fight."
She points over at Ynja
"Second Lieutenant Ynja, you will be fighting alongside her at the front. I know of your tribe, Ynja is a little green. It's her 1st real war, so having and experienced fighter by her side will help. Go say hello and get a coffee, you and the others I hope are coming will be heading out soon as so enjoy it now, it wan't last. Your Dismissed."
Then she went back to her maps and notes.
Ynja Eva Ragnavold
Ynja looked on as the commander talked to a tall fellow. She could not make out what was being said. She wondered if he was one of the troops the commander talked about.
Hope that gets everyone someplace useful and ready for the next fight
Gigantos Mutatus
A large thudding sounded, smaller trees swaying with each step, as a large, two-headed giant stomped into view, both heads arguing with the other.
"I sez we'd make it!" head one said loudly, a wide grin on its face.
"Nu-uh, I tha one sez it! I sez it all time!" head two said, shaking wildly as the body swerved around a tent.
"No, you sez line tha utha way, which wuz tha wrong way," head one argued.
Finally, the ettin made it to the trenches, where it shrunk down to man-sized and walked into the command post.
"I'z be Janry-" head one said.
"And I'z be Orvay-" head two stated.
"And we'z be tha recruit from tha Gigantos Mutatus die-vishun," both head.said together, waving at all those present with both meaty hands.
Don't know why, but a redneck voice just sounded really good for the character...
Lady Incendia Anisha Rosala
Incendia looked up from her maps.
"Arr the brothers, Janry and Orvay"
She looked around for a scrap of paper picked it up and read it.
"Says here you have been in 4 other units, each as transferred you out with in a day. Well that will not be the case here boys, you will be lucky if you survive a day. See this is the place where the war is boys and your staying with me. I'm Commander Rosala, do well and you may live to see tomorrow, mess up..."
For a moment the room grows dark and a chill fills the air, it's as if fear itself is breathing down your two necks. Then its gone, past and she is smiling at you.
"Good to have you here, go get some coffee, introduce yourself to Second Lieutenant Ynja and your fellow troops. But drink fast, soon as a have the numbers I'm sending out, Your dismissed."
She go's back to her maps.
Ynja Eva Ragnavold
Ynja holds up some old tin mugs, with coffee in.
Canaan Fodda
Looking at the new crew, Canaan is a bit relieved. Ok, a few less things that will want to eat me is a good sign. Glad they left when released. Could have been a lot of trouble if they stuck aroun.
As usual Canaan keeps a low profile in the room.
Then he sees the big guy with two heads walk in. So much for feeling relief.
When roll is called. "Specialist Fodda, still present and accounted for. "
Gigantos Mutatus
"Hey, brotha, I thank she like me," Janry said as they walked out to find some grub.
"No way, she ovusly like me," Orvay replied.
"Bah, you got rocks in da head, she allus look at me,""Janry retorted, getting in the chow line. Piling up the tray to ridiculous heights, the ettin plopped down onto a now-creaking bench and started shoveling in the food.
Ynja Eva Ragnavold
Looks on as the Big two headed thing walks out the Command post, and off to join what was left of the 42th in grabbing some slop they called food.
All intelligence officers where given the same basic equipment. A Uniform, Dagger, Wayfinder, Under armor and a ring of sustenance. They said because intelligence officers should only ever sleep 2 hours a night. But she had feeling it was so they did not have to eat the slops most of the troops eat. She shipped her coffee and looked over at. Akumu.
"You can join them if you wish, Stars knows when you will get a change to eat again."
Akumu
"No need, Lieutenant Ynja. A full stomach invites complacency in battle. Perhaps when we're done with this."
"A few preparations if I may."Akumu conjures up a force shield of his own will. "Burdensome thing, human armor. Sure it protects, but Id rather have the mobility. " He commnts. "Are we all accounted for, yet?"
Akumu casts message on Ynja, Canaan, Gigantos. "Simply point at me and speak in a whisper, and I will hear your words like you were standing next to me."
"I heard you mention of a Sharptalon? Is he here yet?"

An older gentlemen dressed in rags follows a minute or two behind Gigantos, a cheap crossbow hanging limply from his hand. He takes methodically cautious steps as he enters the bunker, and in the light, one can see his eyes are milky white with blindness. "Hello? I'm here for the war, brought a bolt slinger an' all! Name's Craven... an' I'm s'posed to report to a... Lady Indecia or somethin'? " He takes a sharp breath in through his crooked nose, and for the briefest moment, Craven's eyes flash a predatory yellow.
Nondetection and change shape are active. :-)
Lady Incendia Anisha Rosala
looks up from her table, and sighs.
"I'm Lady Incendia, But you call me Commander Rosala. and your in the right for the war Craven"
She says looking at him, meeting his eyes with her own black with in black orbs. This is a wo.. sorry thing that has no problem meeting your look.
Then she looks down at her maps again.
"Lieutenant Ynja is over there with coffee, or there is hot food outside with the 42ed. But be fast, soon as your ready I'm sending you out."
She looks up or that last part,
::"you want war, well I don't like to disappoint."::
She says into your mind, and with it comes dark shadows of places that have never seen the light.
"Your dismissed"
She says as an imp comes into being in front of her, handing over a small scroll case before becoming invariable again. The commander opens it and starts looking over the contents.
Ynja Eva Ragnavold
"I heard you mention of a Sharptalon? Is he here yet?"
"Thanks" she says, after the spell.
She was looking at the commander and the old man she was talking to.
"Sharptalon, I think hes a Griffin, I bet he was the one outside helping with the wounded."
She looks to the door.
"They say a thudder ripped half the 42ed to pieces, bits all over the place. One of the troopers said the commander went and took it out with just a Sharptalon and a few others. Walked back in here like it was nothing."
She turned back.
"Sorry, but you hear stories you know, like she a..."
She looks at the commander then back again.
"Ye well, Alright so, your a spell slinger yes?, good to know. Not done this before, sorry of I am doing it wrong. Just trying to do the right thing you know. I was still in the academy 4 weeks ago. Know the troops they say."
She drank some more coffee, looking a little worried.
She stands only 5.1" and seems to slender and frail, but her face is close to perfect, if not a little pail.
GM Choon
The scroll reads,
To: Lady Incendia Anisha Rosala, Commander of PST3, Northern trenches
Deployment Orders
::Priority One::
Enemy assault underway in section 21N. Elements of the 42nd and 61st heavily engaged. Strong magic in use. Multiple Thumpers and artillery reported supporting advancing troops.
Engage enemy back line. Neutralize artillery and Thumper support at all costs.
A glance at the map show 21N to be one section to your north. To engage the back line as ordered you have three options. Punch your way though the front line trench that the enemy has fortified (the area you just drove them back into), proceed along your line and then hop over the land separating your trench from the enemy's back line, or take your trench the full distance and punch through the enemy offensive line to get at the artillery.
Option one is a hard slog, and probably your last option. The enemy will know you're coming and will have time to deploy to meet you.
Option two offers the least resistance from enemy troops on the ground, but you will be exposed to enemy sniper and artillery fire as you make the run on the top from your trench to theirs, and you will be surrounded once you've engaged.
Option three will offer the best cover and you won't be surrounded once you get there, but the enemy will have it's face to you and it's weapons pointed in your direction from the word go.
Lady Incendia Anisha Rosala
Commander Rosala placed the scroll down and called out.
"Someone go get the two meat heads outside and gather round. I have your Deployment Orders."
She waits while they collect around her.
She points at a map.
"This is 21N a section to our north. The enemy are assault it and Elements of the 42nd and 61st are heavily engaged. They are taking strong magic with Multiple Thumpers and artillery supporting advancing troops. Your task my little strike team is to take out the enemy supporting Thumpers and artillery or as many as you can understood. To engage the back line where they are we have three options. One, we punch our way though the front line trench that the enemy has fortified, there are two few of you for that. Two take our trench the full distance and punch through the enemy offensive line to get at the artillery. again they will be facing you and there are to few of you. Three, proceed along our line and then hop over the land separating your trench from the enemy's back line. Your free to move and it will get you on them before they can really get ready. Bad news is you will be in the open while you make you move, the surrounded when you get there. But IF you can make it there that has the best chance of you getting there and having the time to disrupt the thumpers and artillery. So that is the Option you will be taking. So work our how you get yourselves across the no mans land with out getting killed, the how your going to take out the targets and then how your going to get back. Welcome to the war, any questions?."
she looks at them.
The Craving
When Incendia and her darkness touch his mind, Craven licks his lips.
Craven stumbles away once dismissed, feeling around the room as he goes to meet the others of his unit. He gets about halfway there before Lady Incendia calls them all back with the orders, at which he slowly moseys back.
"Well, hmm... I like number tree I think! I can get my feet shufflin' pretty quick if I've none obs'acles to be wachin' for!" he suggests. "I'm not much a shot, but I got a mean right hook if you ged me close enough! Maybe take out a Tudder with a one-two, heh?" Craven laughs, and gives Akumu a soft punch to the shoulder. His eyes still stare at nothing.
Areth Stormwind
Stepping slowly towards commanding tent, with a book hanging from his hips and old musket carried along his side Areth made his way towards the figures.
A small icon of the inquisition being visible on his left side armor, reflecting the small amount of lights on its silvery surface, triangle surrounding eye and shackles surrounding the triangle.
"I see that the number of... extraordinary species is just increasing here." speaking grimmly towards others as Areth eyed them all before turning his gaze towards the enemy lines and sizing it up "and all these... heretics dangling there, almost touching and defiling our holy grounds. Sad days indeed. No wonder they had to send me to this hellhole again"
Gigantos Mutatus
Standing around quietly, for once, Janry and Orvay stood and listened to their commander. Once she finished, the two heads both gave identical grins, showing off yellow, crooked teeth.
"We'z gon be fed gud toe-night, Orvay" Janry exclaimed.
"We sho nuff iz, Janry," Orvay replied, high fiving each other in a thunderous clap.
"Me an' Orvay call dibs on onna them thudder thangs," Janry told their companions, cracking their knuckles.
"Thay soun' like a heap'n uv fun ta tackle," Orvay added in.
Angels Dragonfire
Celeste wasn't a newcomer to the battlefield but she wasn't the most adept at taking orders. She was just smart enough to realize that they were being sent on a mission that most wouldn't come back from.
She walked in after hearing most of what was necessary. By her looks it was obvious that she was from a land of the uncivilized. She wore no real armor to speak of, just various fetishes and furs strapped together by leather and what could possibly be wood. Her exposed flesh was mostly covered in tattoos and scars that wrapped around her heavily muscled frame. Two large and ornate long swords hung from her sides, both looking much too large to be wielded by any normal person. She looked human but something was slightly off, perhaps it was her powerful hands that looked slightly too larger for even her massive 6'5 frame. Or was it other worldy look of confidence in her eyes. The ideal of being surround seemed to excite her.
"So I take it that these armaments are protected by various magics?
"And you will be needing those capable of piercing through these defenses once we manage to get there correct?
"Will there be any sort of extraction or are we expected to sort ourselves out of that situation once the mission is complete?"Celeste said with a crazed grin.
Lady Incendia Anisha Rosala
As the others come in Incendia nods but keeps on with the briefing.
"Magics, no idea, I would say not. There mages seem to be working on the attack but we have no information ether way. But expect crews manning the weapons. MY hope is IF you can get there fast, they will not have time to muster troops before the damage is done."
She brings over another map.
"Extraction, your best bet after that is attack there lines attacking our troops from thump-per sit. Once our troops are out from under the bombardment they can counter attack and you can meet. Hitting the enemy's advancing line from both sides should have them brake up. You only need a chink and you can get back to our line. However there is another option, go back the way you came over no mans land."
She looks up.
"In your run out, the good news is I happen to have a very good sniper, his task will be to deal with any Snipers they have on your run out. Bad news is, once you made your run, they will know and going back expect a lot more sniper fire so think hard before trying it and a means of Extraction."
She points Ynja
"Lieutenant Ynja here is also a ranged shooter, she will lay down cover fire on your run out. My hope is that with speed and two sets of cover fire, most if not all of you will make it. Then at the Thump-ers I don't care what you do just stop them pounding my troops."
She rolls up her maps, and adds.
"New faces introduce yourself to Ynja your officer. Now you have your orders, get yourselves to the jump up point and get at it. While we are talking men are dying."
She nods then adds
"One more thing, best of luck and my your gods go with you, Dismissed"
Ynja Eva Ragnavold
Ynja nods and picks up the few things she has. She only seems to have a Black uniform like the commanders and a Dagger for a weapon. How she is meant to shoot anything who knows.
"Alright, you heard the commander, lets get to that jump point up point. Sooner we get going the better"
She seems to be trying to sound professional but you can hear the waver in her voice. Worry and fear.
She moves out the command post and off down the trench making her way to the point they need to be at. As she walks something comes into being inside her. There is a slight grey-ness to her skin.

"Newcomers, I see." He gives Celeste, Areth and The Craving the message spell. "Simply point at me and speak in a whisper, and I will hear your words like you were standing next to me." "I will join those who are going up close. Before we leave, I suggest we ensure that one of us can see invisible creatures, in case they have an ambush planned for us.If you can see them, inform me via the message spell so I can make them visible to all."
