Hey all, after having a vomit inducing migraine all day yesterday, I am happy to report that I can now look outside the window at daylight without dry heaving! I guess all the recent stress caught up to me, in it's own way. Sorry about that, let's get back to killing baddies.

Brayden Green |

Thaddaeus Recognizing that doing so will offer the Halfling a strategic opening to attack, Thaddaeus takes a five foot step forward and aims at who he presumes to be the mage that Bander warned about.
1d20 + 4 ⇒ (11) + 4 = 15
1d8 + 1 ⇒ (7) + 1 = 8
He drops her, neatly into a pile.
He then turns his bow on the halfling, hitting him. THe halfling manages to swing as he gets the shot off, 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (18) + 5 = 23 hitting for 1d10 + 4 ⇒ (10) + 4 = 14 damage! Wowza! completely dropping Thadd with the fury of the blow.
Larkin steps over Thadd's unconscious body, and moves towards the rest of the group, provoking an AoOp from Shilyn 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (10) + 2 = 12 which will miss. He will attack Shilyn with a rapier 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (1) + 2 = 3 and miss wildy.
After felling Thadd with his mightly blow, the halfling Ledford starts to taunt you all. EACH ONE OF YOU WILL FALL TO MY MIGHT BLOWS! HAHAHAHA!!! and attacks Shilyn 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (19) + 5 = 24 and hits, doing 1d10 + 4 ⇒ (1) + 4 = 5 Phew! Min damage! 5 points of damage to Shilyn, dropping her also.
AHAHHAAHHAAHAHAHAHAHHA!!! he cries as he drops Shilyn too.
Bander curses under his breath as he sees the halfling shake off his hex. Oh no you don't you son of a bow legged goblin...let's try this again and see if you can fracking shake it off a second time.. Once again Bander makes a soft sound that sound distinctly like he was taking a nap and his eye bares down on the halfling almost pushing the short man down by the force of his will.
Bander again hits the halfling with his sleep hex (Will save vs DC 14). If he fails he will fall asleep for one round.
Will 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (11) + 4 = 15. It doesn't seem to have any effect.
Ahz takes a step back, gets out a bomb, and heaves it at ledford. I am sorry my fallen friends, but we have to stop this psychopath he says. 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (16) + 4 = 20 he hits, doing 1d6 + 1 ⇒ (4) + 1 = 5damage, and also doing 1 pt damage to shilyn, Thadd, and Larkin
Halli is unconscious.
Lore casts a fire bolt at the halfling, dropping him cold.
Deandre steps forward, and says Well done my friends, let's get the last of them. And she rushes forward into combat.
Round 2 over. Thadd is unconscious at -3, Shilyn is unconscious at -1, Ledford is unconscious, Halli is unconscious, and Larkin has taken one damage.
Yikes! Mega rolls by the NPC's. Time to pull together as a team!
This time don't do it in spoilers. LEt's go person by person following INIT. That way we can slow it down a little, so that each person can act based off of what the others are doing, and we can get optimized results. Sound good?

Brayden Green |

Thadd is unconscious. [ooc]I do need a FORT roll to see if you stabilize.
So we will start with Larkin. He will five foot back and drink a potion, he seems to fade more into the shadows as he does so.
Ledford is unconscious, so Bander is next.
Bander, you're up! (Ahz is after Bander. IF any of you have cure potions, now might be a good time to start getting your allies back up off the ground :) )
Ahz
Shilyn
Halli is unconscious so skip unless healed
Lore
Deandre

healing for the party 1d6 ⇒ 3
edit: sorry - didn't see your bit about going in order and without spoilers til after I posted this, I hope this action is still okay, as my action won't change as a result of anything Ahz does and I go after him. as everyone in between us is unconscious.

![]() |

finally found the map again, Lore will want to include some movement in her action as well... where she moves depends on Ahz's action, so I will action that after Ahz takes his turn. I'll be afk tomorrow morning til at least 1 or 2pm, so I will check back then for Ahz's post and action

Brayden Green |

Just waiting for Bander to come in and post his actions.
I don't think that you are all in jeopardy of player death, the way things are going, but I'd rather be safe and do things as optimized as possible. Better all of us be safe, than one of you be sorry ;)

Chrystrom |

once again sorry guys for the delay but I had no idea the hotel wouldn't have free Internet...stupid hotel on the beach. But at least the beach was nice :o). Now on to killing these last bad guys.
"By Desna's bountiful titties, these frackers are starting to really piss me off. One of you pig humpers are taking a nap today...and it looks like it's going to be you." . With that Bander points at Larkin. "Lore see if you can help our friends while Ahzrin and I keep these others busy."
ok, once again trying my Slumber Hex...Will save vs DC 14. Come on this has to work some time...geeze.

Seeing everyone crammed in to the tight quarters of the alley, Ahzrin thinks better of throwing another incendiary. Instead he draws the crossbow from his waist. He places a bolt in and draws the lever back, taking careful aim and firing.
Move action to load crossbow, firing at Larkin
Attack Roll 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (12) + 2 = 14
Damage Roll 1d8 ⇒ 2

Chrystrom |

umm..it didn't say he disappeared from view but that he faded more into the shadows...so i figured he was atleast still some what visible which means he could be targeted with a hex...not sure about the bow shot. Hopefully he will go to sleep...and then die. If he is invisible now...Bander will target the one enemy still standing and visible with his hex.
+

Brayden Green |

No. not invisible. You have a working awareness that he is there, but if he is unmoving you will not be sure exactly *where* he is, if that makes sense.
I am denying him the offensive benefits of hiding (attacks, and sneaks, as it were) and giving him a miss chance (20%), for firing where you *think* he is. As far as targeting, it will act like a miss chance. It has the same effect as invisibility, in that he retains the same bonus while holding still, but is discoverable moving, and the like.

Brayden Green |

Will save
1d20 + 0 ⇒ (8) + 0 = 8.
He drops.
THe woman says, "You fools, we had them. and turns as if too flee.
Ahz SHilyn and Lore go before her turn.

![]() |

Lore channels energy, again excluding the woman and the fallen halfling.

![]() |

1d6 ⇒ 4 of healing for our party

![]() |

As his previous target drops into slumber, Ahz shifts his aim to the woman who was turning to run. He snarls as his eyes narrow and his aim steadies.
Attack Roll on the woman 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (14) + 2 = 16
Damage Roll 1d8 ⇒ 1

![]() |

Opening her eyes after Lore's healing spell washes over her, Shilyn quickly regains her bearings. Her fingers close over the hilt of her fallen rapier as she begins to rise from where she's fallen.
Ahzrin's crossbow twangs and a bolt goes wizzing by over her head as she gets to her knees. "A little close don't you think Ahz?" she asks with a short laugh.
Standing, her eyes quickly scan the alley to see who's still standing, noticing the fallen foes and the remaining woman turning to run.
perception (if needed): 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (10) + 10 = 20
She moves to close the distance, jumping over the bodies before her.
acrobatics: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (18) + 7 = 25
2 move actions taken.
HPs: 1/9
After Lore's 2d heal: 5/9

Brayden Green |

I think the heal should have only happened once. She posted her actions before bander went, and then reposted so you all could see.
The lady gets an arrow in her shoulder, and takes off (she is running at x4).
- It is unlikely that all of you will catch her, as she has a greater movement speed than some of you.
- you also have 3 "hostages" that are sleeping or otherwise unconscious.
What would you like to do now? You are out of ROUND order because all threats are gone, or incapacitated.

Brayden Green |

I'm sure she can channel again, after the lady has run away, and that will satisfy the whole "not dying" thing

![]() |

The second roll was for my next action, I just posted ahead of time because I was going to be afk a while... so there should have been a second channel, even if it happened after the lady ran away.

![]() |

Watching the other woman disappear quickly down the alley, Shilyn stops and turns back after only a few steps. "That wench was.. fast!" she exclaims as she steps back to the others.
"Well, looks like we have a choice.. finish this.. or take them in to the authorities. Personally, I'm not fond of people trying to end my life for no reason, so I'd vote for the first option." Her voice is flat and devoid of emotion as she points to the downed foes with the tip of her rapier.
Looking over to Lore she continues, "Since your healing obviously saved our lives.. or at least mine.. I'll abide by your decision."

![]() |

"I'm not in favor of killing a helpless foe." and with that she moves over to the fallen halfling and assesses his condition, bandaging him if he still lives.
heal check 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (10) + 3 = 13 yay, I remembered to roll this time!
"Since the other one is merely sleeping, perhaps he should be bound so we can safely take him in to the authorities."

![]() |

Lore then moves over to the other fallen opponent - the other female - and attempts a heal check on her to stabilize her.
heal check 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (9) + 3 = 12
"I'm not doing too well with trying to bandage them up. Perhaps we should tie them all up and bring them close together and I will channel for all of them, plus any of you who are still hurt. But they should definitely be bound first."

Brayden Green |

Thadd makes his bid for "best one-liner" of hte thread.
I'm just going to assume that you see them to the authorities, or take them to HQ, and loot the bodies.
Of note on them, you find:
potion of cure light wounds; Other Gear
masterwork chain shirt, greataxe, block of wax in a metal
tin, fine comb with a long handle, bottle of whiskey and four
silver cups, 25 gp
potions of cure light wounds (2), scroll of burning
hands, scroll of mage armor, scroll of obscuring mist, scroll
of shield, scroll of unseen servant, wand of disguise self (5
charges); Other Gear dagger, light crossbow with 20
bolts, fan of pigeon feathers, small pouch of trimmed
fingernails, 53 gp
elixir of hiding; Other Gear chain shirt, rapier,
dagger, notebook of jokes, ink, quill, small hand puppet
representing Lord Gyr, 8 gp
So you are ready to report to Ambrus Valsin. What do you say?

![]() |

Flex
I have rope. Best to bind them and turn them over to the authorities. Shilyn...can you give me a hand..I assume you have experience with tying people up?
With an innocent look, Shilyn glances at Thaddaeus and with a slight mischievous glint in her eyes says, "What's behind closed doors stays there," as she gives the man a quick wink then helps him secure the prisoners.
End flex

![]() |

"Hullo, Sir. We've finished all four tasks. Here is the box from the Paracountess, and the maps and charter from the Salhar estate. Thank you for this opportunity to serve the Society."
Lore gives a little curtsey as she hands over the items to Ambrus. "I hope we've done well on our first excursion, such as it was."
"We were attacked on our way back with the box by people who were watching us all day. Not sure if the attack was related to our service to the Society or not. We brought the miscreants with us, but we can take them to the city authorities if you think that is more appropriate. We weren't sure if you might want to question them first."
As she speaks she gestures to the three tied up figures with them.

![]() |

At Lore's mention of the prisoners, Shilyn 'gently' prods them forward with the tip of her rapier. "Yes, feel free to dispose of them as you wish. We've no need for them, but there is still one roaming the town. A mage.. female.. who got away rather quickly I might add."
Shilyn will turn in all of the items she was carrying (with appropriate argument with the quartermaster over the masterwork tools, which she will offer to buy at the Society's going rate)

Brayden Green |

just waiting to see if there is anything else that anyone wants to say to Ambrus. THen we will resolve the mission :)

Chrystrom |

Flex Time. Bander eyes the 'prisoners' In disgust and then spits a gob of greenish yellow fluid onto the halfling. In the military we call it finishin' off the enemy, but I will bide by your wisdom little one. My fricking ball of fur seems to like you and I hate to admit it but he is a fine judge of people." End Flex Time
Looking at Ambrus, Bander gives the venture captain a short nod. "Sir if I may be so bold as to present a bit of an opinion...I have served with many a man and woman in my time in the military and these four here have proved themselves most able and I would be proud to serve with them any day and count myself blessed to do so. I reckon that's all I got to say sir if you will excuse an old soldier."

![]() |

Returning to the others after her visit with the quartermaster, Shilyn mutters under her breath. As she reaches the rest of her group, she stops and reaches up to push the hair back from her face.
Suddenly, her eyes light up and she gets a mischievous grin. "Hey!" she says, "Seems to me, Thaddaeus offered to buy the first round once we got back! That's mighty nice of you Thadd, I'm sure we'll all enjoy a drink at your expense. After all, no ale tastes as good as free ale!"

![]() |

"I may be little but I can handle my share of the ale, that I can!" Lore chimes in with a grin and a wink at Thadd. "I bet I'm at least as thirsty as Bander here," she says, elbowing Bander gently in the thigh, which is as high up as her elbow will reach.

Brayden Green |

Ambrus tells you that you have done "better than expected" (whatever that means) and that you might prove useful yet. He has other, more important tasks to assign you, and to celebrate and to assemble back here in a few days.

Brayden Green |

WELL DONE! YOU ALL PASSED! GIVE YOUSELVES A HEARTY HUZZAH!!!
we will continue the resolving of this on the discussion thread.
