Okay, you will get a surprise round, which means one person opens the door as a move action, and then everyone else will get a surprise or move action.

GM BrOp |

I moved everyone around on the map for opening combat positions. Feel free to move yourself to a different position if you don't like it. I placed both Quintus and Um'bala in positions where either can open the door as their surprise round action.
Mach: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (11) + 3 = 14
Milo: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (12) + 3 = 15
Petronicus: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (17) + 2 = 19
Quintus: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (19) + 6 = 25
Standing Bear: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (1) + 3 = 4
Um’Bala: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (2) + 2 = 4
Nupperibos: 1d20 ⇒ 16
Okay, looks like Quintus can open the door, followed by everyone else in the party making a standard of move action. On the 1st full round of combat, Quintus, Petronicus will get their actions followed by the nupperibos and then the rest of the party.
P.S.: I misread the monster info. They have DR 5/good or silver. So if you have an alchemical silver or mithral weapon, that will bypass it.

Petronicus Krupt |

SURPRISE ROUND
Once everyone gathers in front of the door and draws their weapons and equipment, Petronicus hefts his silver warhammer. As soon as Quintus opens the door, he quickly moves through into the room towards the nupperibos.
"Great horned god, but they are ugly," he mutters.
Move action into room during surprise round

Milo Bandersnatch |

Milo moves forward with his Temple Sword drawn and he too is a bit horrified by the devil's appearance. The way the Chelaxian explained this it implied that his Sword, being a weapon of Good, would certainly hurt the creature, but still. Rather than dither over what will and what will not work he falls back on his training.
That is, since this is the first opponent with legs they have faced in a while, rather than attack with his blade he dashes in and uses his weapon to trip it up and strike at it, if possible.
I've just realized that I have Flurry of Maneuvers. I think this means I may not only attack in a round, but attempt a Maneuver? However, because I'm uncertain I'll just make rolls and you tell me what happens, okay? ;)
If I've utterly misunderstood this, then what I really want to do is Trip the creature. Please note that I have not subtracted anything in my roles for penalties related to a second action.
Trip: 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (13) + 12 = 25
Atack: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (4) + 4 = 8
Damage: 1d6 ⇒ 1

![]() |

From what I'm seeing, Milo, if you take the full-attack action, you can also make an additional combat maneuver in addition to your normal attacks, but at a -2 penalty. Weirdly, the flurry doesn't seem to incur that same penalty to your actual attacks.

GM BrOp |

The way flurry of maneuvers works is as follows: Flurry of maneuvers
This means that you can make two combat maneuvers as a full-attack action. This, however, is a surprise round, in which you get EITHER a move or a standard action, which means you don't get to do it. The best you can hope for is to move 30' and get ready to do something the next round. I'll let you keep that trip roll for next round, however. To save time, I did that for you already on the combat map.

Milo Bandersnatch |

Thanks for the explanations and sorry for the confusion! As you suggest and Trip next round.

GM BrOp |

GMPCing everyone who hasn't posted.
After Quintus opens the door, the rest of the party rushes in toward the Nupperibos. They turn and let out a low moan in surprise, slowly turning to face you.
Quintus and Petronicus now how their first round actions, followed by the Nupperibos, and then everyone else.

Petronicus Krupt |

"Let's hope these things don't remember my face when they appear back in Hell. Wouldn't want them to inform on me." Petronicus charges the nearest Nupperibo.
Maxwell's silver hammer + charge - PA: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (7) + 7 = 14,Damage: 1d8 + 7 ⇒ (8) + 7 = 15
The silver hammer decimates the head of the closest devil-being, causing it to collapse in a pile.
One down

GM BrOp |

Quintus hasn't posted in a while. I'll wait 24 hours for him to do so, otherwise I'll act for him so that it doesn't hold everyone else up (since the remaining nupperibo goes before everyone else).

GM BrOp |

ROUND 1 CONT.
Quintus moves into the room, spell at the ready. Move action; ready casting of ray of frost should the nupperibo come within range.
The nupperibo moves stiffly towards Petronicus, it's spear held out in front of it. He stabs his weapon at him, inflicting a nasty wound. Spear attack: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (18) + 1 = 19,Damage: 1d8 ⇒ 7
ROUND 1–2
Everyone in the party is up!

GM BrOp |

Between Mach's mithral blade and Um'bala's spell, the creature is knocked to the ground and does not move. Petronicus then brings the hammer down hard on its head, smashing it like a ripe melon.
Combat is over.
Everyone takes 10 on Perception
After the din of battle, silence seems almost welcome: nothing can be heard beyond your own labored breathing.
Nothing else of interest in this room as far as you can see. Two exits: down the stairs and back to the statue room.

Petronicus Krupt |

Petronicus takes out a rag and wipes his silver warhammer clean.
"Well, that was effective. Disgusting, but effective. Good job everyone."
He then winces slightly looking down at the wound at his side. "Hey Grumbling Bear, mind hitting me with the healing? Wouldn't want this to become infected."

Milo Bandersnatch |

I posted while you were posting, GM, so I'm editing what I posted originally.
Milo had begun to move into position to trip the creature and gets up to where Um'bal is as the mage lets go his spell. The creature crumples and the monk skids to a halt.
"Well, so much for that.
"Well done, fellows!"

GM BrOp |

The party moves forward down the staircase. At the bottom, the corridor splits in three, one heading east, the other heading south and then turning west, while another staircase continues south.
Any preference?

Milo Bandersnatch |

Milo shrugs, "I can't think of a reason you might be wrong, Wizard."

Standing Bear, Spirit Speaker |

Standing Bear smiles as his companions finish the task at hand without his needing to lift a finger, he nods, "Yes, I agree...they are getting better at this teamwork thing..."
Then he continues to hold the line for them, ready and willing to crush anything that is necessary.

GM BrOp |

The corridor continues for 20 feet before another, much longer corridor branches off to the south. Looking down it, you can see that it continues for 50 feet before opening into a small, 20 x 20 foot room. The southern corridor continues past the room.
Eastward the room opens into a similar small room with a closed door against the far wall.

GM BrOp |

The door seems not to be trapped, but seems stuck or barred from the other side.

Petronicus Krupt |

Petronicus smiles at Mach. "Did you try pushing?"

Petronicus Krupt |

Petronicus puts up his hands in mock protest, and plasters his most unctuous smile all over his place. "No, no. After your performance with the polearm and the statue I've come to realize that you are the stronger of us two. If you can't open it, then it can't. be. opened."

Milo Bandersnatch |

Milo feels his temper rise, but smiles as well, "Oh, come now, Krupt! This determination to fail does not suit your natural optimism."

Petronicus Krupt |

Petronicus folds his arms in protest and turns his back, which is quite a feat considering he is holding his polearm. "Fine, but tell Mr. Devilpants to stop taking over my territory. He's the sneaky thief, I'm the strong one!"

Milo Bandersnatch |

By the gods I detest this fellow, Milo thinks, but his smile stays, "Your talking only delays the opportunity to impress us!"

Petronicus Krupt |

Petronicus turns on the halfling. "Impress you? Why would I bother wanting to impress the likes of you? I have better things to do with my time."
He then stalks off back to the intersection and waits for the rest of the party to figure out what they want to do.

Milo Bandersnatch |

Milo bows ceremoniously in reply to the warrior's huff and moves to support Mach's exploration of the southern corridor.

GM BrOp |

The southern corridor eventually opens into a small, 20' by 20' room. This chamber is bare save for a statue depicting a regal- looking woman wielding a ranseur—she stands in a battle- ready pose, with the tip of the ranseur aimed at the northern entrance to the room. The corridor continues south on the far side of the room, but travels only 20' more before turning right (west).
Everyone taking 10 on Perception as per usual.

Petronicus Krupt |

"Like completely fail at remembering names, for instance?" Mach tosses out as he moves past Petronicus.
"What are you talking about? I know everyone's name. You're Mach something, he's Mylo Banderlog. What more is there to know?"

Milo Bandersnatch |

Milo responds to Petronicus's words with an amused shrug as he looks about the room.
Looking at the statue, "Is this Runelord Alaznist again? She seems to be concerned about whomever/whatever comes through the northern entrance here," he says pointing at the entrance.

Petronicus Krupt |

Petronicus nods and takes a closer look. Taking 10 on Perception.
He jumps back as if he has been bitten by a snake. "There's a trap there, there's a trap there, I'd swear it! Mach, do something!"

Petronicus Krupt |

"What are you, my mother?"

Petronicus Krupt |

Petronicus looks like he's about to blow up in another ignorant, hate-filled, tirade, but catches himself, taking several deep breaths to clam down.
"Sorry, sometimes my anger gets the better of me. Either that or this place is getting to me." He then walks a bit back north to calm down more.

GM BrOp |

Mach fiddles with the trap, but doesn't think that he disarmed it. Looking at it more closely, its a magical trap of some kind.

![]() |

Um'bala clams up as the rest of the party bickers amongst themselves, idly wondering if there's some sort of emotion influencing magics within this section of the hall. "Well, let's check this thing out then. Maybe it turns?"
