Does an attack of opportunity stop movement?

Rules Questions

Still learning the game... thanks for the help!

If I try to tumble, fail, and then get successfully hit by an attack of opportunity, is my movement stopped?

Thanks!

Hi there!
No, your movement isn't stopped, even if the AoO hits.

Edit: As Lord Pendragon pointed out, this is plain wrong. Nothing to see here, shoo!

Incorrect. Your movement is stopped the instant you fail the Acrobatics check, regardless of the outcome of the AoO.

The key point here is where you are tumbling.

If you are tumbling through open space, or moving past an opponent, then the AoO hitting does not stop movement.

If you are tumbling through an opponents actual space, then a failed Acrobatics both provokes an AoO as well as stopping movement.

I stand corrected - missed the 'acrobatics' part somehow and assumed regular movement. D'oh!

Also it depends on the AoO. If it is a strict damage attack vs something with Grab or Trip.

Your movment stops only if you fail the check while attempting to move through an enemy space. Enemy space is a square physically occupied by an apponent.

If you are simply trying to move through a threatened square failing the tumble and being hit by the AOO does not stop you from moving. To do that a feat is needed.

In normal situations, an AoO doesn't stop your mouvement.

To stop you, the attacker must :

- Grab or Trip you
- or use the Stand Still feat.

Thanks everyone. You all rock.

Holy cow. I've been doing it wrong.

We figured overrun just sucked compared to a failed Acrobatics check to move through an enemy's space.
