Osirion Scarab Sages

Day Job? What is this "Day Job" of which you speak? After finding paths all day I barely have time to fill out my Chronicle reports and learn a new spell or two — when am I supposed to have time to work? Maybe if I was an elf and didn't...hmm, I wonder how hard it would be to learn to do that? The not sleeping part, I mean, not the being an elf part; I imagine that's rather difficult to accomplish, changing one's race. Although I suppose that it's theoretically possible...

Init/Perc mods are in my headers. Also, one of Lazlo's schticks is that he has purchased nearly every piece of mundane equipment available in the CRB and UE, and his handy haversack is nearly bursting at the seams as a result. Much less useful at this point in his career, of course, but still.

Silver Crusade

Since I'm still new to PbP, I don't have my character stats filled out here yet. I can start doing that tonight, but no promises on actually finishing.

Also, I'm not entirely sure which PC to bring. I originally signed up with my level 6 enchantment/evocation sorcerer, but I noticed I'm not the only arcane caster signed up, in a 4 person party. I have other PCs I could bring in this level range. What's everyone else playing? What does the table need?

Unfortunately, life interfered last night, so I didn't get a chance to copy any of my pencil and paper character sheets into the computer. I can almost guarantee that I'll have time to do it tonight. I really need to do that for all my characters now that I'm getting into PbP, but life is kinda busy right now, and I have so many of them that it'll take a while.

I'm a little worried about party composition, though. It looks like an all caster party. Do we have anyone who can stand on the front line in combat? I wanted to play my level 6 sorcerer, but now I'm not so sure that's the best choice.

I do have a level 5 battle oracle I could bring instead, who would have the highest AC in the party. I'm just a little worried about having enough HP to be the only tank while playing up. After all, oracles only get d8 HP, so he's a little low for a tank, even with 14 constitution and all his favored class bonuses going to HP.

It's a Season 1; Season 1 scenarios are typically all over the map and hard to pin down difficulty-wise, particularly the ones trying to bridge three sub-tiers.

My answer to this is almost always the same: play what you wanna play, and we'll sort it out as a party.

I agree with Lazlo. Especially after having GMed most Season 0/1 scenarios.

Play what you want and, if the party is suboptimal, then play smarter, not harder!

NOT bringing a L2 to a 6-7, as funny as that would be.

During the long voyage, the others probably would have found out about Azkadellia's owl familiar, Mobat. It doesn't stay near the party very much, flying around watching the team from a distance at night, and spending most of the day sleeping as a tattoo on her arm.

She'd probably intentionally go off to the side somewhere away from the rest of the party to let it blend back into her arm, as she intentionally hides her tattoo magic from others, even teammates. She's very secretive in general, and wears long dresses with long sleeves to hide her tattoos.

During the journey, Kolo will poke out and clamber all over anyone that doesn't panic at the presence of the deep crag tuatra in an almost feline fashion. Thankfully, Kolo doesn't shed, though anyone that's particularly *warm* may have found a new friend for part of the trip.

Shouldn't one of the ants have been unable to attack, due to being dazed from the ear-piercing scream?

Also, I'm having trouble keeping up with everything going on. How badly damaged are they? If there are two ants that are heavily damaged, I might split my magic missiles in the hopes of knocking them both down in one round.

It appears that I am having trouble as well. Misfortune should have applied to some attacks as well.

That's okay, I'm going to be unavailable at a convention between Friday and Sunday, though my availability may clear up amazingly because of a slow-poke in a different pbp...

As there seems to be some chatter about resting in the middle of this run, I just wanted to give a warning.

I've presented this mod as it is supposed to be run in PFS. However, there are actions and things behind the scenes that may or may not change depending on if you guys decide to rest. I'm fine with allowing it, if you're fine with the consequences...some of which you won't know until after you rest. I feel I've done my duty to be honest and warn you. So, if I get all of the party agreeing that we want to rest, we will. Otherwise, will continue on.

This will give you an opportunity to discuss this before you decide to do so.

Yes, we do have to remember that mad Torvic warned us not to rest.

We also must remember it was only Azkadellia who requested rest.

I'll be attending a local gaming convention this weekend, and will be unable to post during that time. If need be, bot me.

Silver Crusade

I'm just down to 8 spells for the day, which is enough for one fight easily, but if we have 2 tough fights, I'll definitely run out.

Sorry for the unexplained absence of more than 24 hours. Very unprofessional. I will not let it happen again.

Sorry guys. Work picked this week to kick my @ss, so I'm very much behind since I worked through lunch yesterday and didn't get home until after 9 last evening; today looks like more of the same, unfortunately.

If I was holding stuff up, I apologize. I moved Lazlo alongside the party, so at least that's done. Laz can be hard to bot since arcanists are just loaded with options, but I have no issues if someone is willing to give it a go.

Ever sit down and play a pregen, and then after the scenario is done realize that there are many other characters you have that it'd fit better for?

*laughs* It's all good, though, in retrospect.

Thank you very much for running and for your patience throughout!

Huzzah!

Thanks for a fun table, all, and to Bold Strider for running. :-)

Chronicles!

Here you go guys! I had some doubts about an all caster party, but you guys did surprisingly well. My low tier group is about to wipe. (Seven humans against a derro with at-will Darkness is bad news bears at subtier 1-2).

I hope you guys had fun.

@Fromper: I think this was the first time that I GM'd for you. Thank for participating. It was definitely fun to see a blaster sorc in action, especially when billed as an enchantress!

@thunderspirit: Same goes for Lazlo. All of the CC from you definitely provided a distraction, especially with the trolls.

@Deussu: The buffer and meat shield. Great job. Hard to overcome endless buffs and debuffs. ;-)

@Wei Ji: Always a pleasure.

Silver Crusade

Thanks for running. And thanks to everyone for a fun game.

And Azkadellia really is an enchantress just as much as blaster. I gave her blasting as a backup plan for when she faces things without minds, but she's built about 50/50 to do both.

But in this case, we just didn't have enough damage potential, so I tried to step up and be the heavy hitter. It's just tough to do that on only 19 spells per day. I really was worried about running out at a crucial time.

Edit: Just noticed you got Az's faction wrong on the chronicle. She's Dark Archive, not Silver Crusade.

So just out of curiosity, if we'd done the 'frontal assault' method on that last room, would she have sent waves of minions at us?

The koboldest of all the Bold Striders. | Also, Wayfinder GM for GM Bold Strider

Nope. Her fear aura would have sent them scattering. She actually had three minions but the aura+channel energy (no selective) killed them.

She has two different auras too, but they aren't properly explained anywhere. Subject to GM discretion, oh the fun.

I could EASILY see this scenario going the other way fast.
