If Rytara still has 2 Villan Points, she can cheat death?

Rytara Sumpfkrot |

Ok, not that I cannot think of other fun and interesting builds, but I was reminded that we have Villain points and since I have not used any, I should have 2 left.
Free Action - Use Villain points to cheat death.
Bloodied and having a massive slash across her abdomen, Rytara, surprisingly, appears to be still breathing, but barely. Now that you can see her insides, it is clear that this is because her blood appears thicker, and darker, than you would expect from such a massive wound.
HP: -9/17 - Stable

Tearyn moves swiftly towards the corner of the room, stopping before the last few feet as she is leery of Sir Balin's blade after seeing what he did to Rytara.
Move to C61. Leave the flanks for the rogue next time Daimon ;-P

Irikar Vareth |

Irikar steps into the corner, attacking Balin from the opposite side of Daimon, cursing as the knight blocks the swing.

Tearyn moves carefully into a flank, skirting around the knight's sword range and attacks.
Short Sword Sneak Attack: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (7) + 6 = 13
damage: 2d6 ⇒ (2, 4) = 6 plus bleed.

GM Blood |

Irikar and Grumblejack both miss and Sir Balin sees Rytara coming to flank him, so he focuses on the only other one who has hit him, Daimon. His swing is true, leaving a large gash upon him with his slice continues through into Rytara, then steps back against the other wall. C61

Irikar Vareth |

I assume you meant Tearyn there, since Rytara's down and out of reach?

Daimon Pyre |

Daimon getting hit by Balin lets out a primal roar. He drops his sword and grows claws. He steps up to Balin, tearing at his flesh and ripping through his armor.

Gasping in pain from her grevious wound, Tearyn attempts to utilize her flank with both swords before stepping back from Sir Balin's sword range.

Irikar swings his greatsword with a contemptuous snarl, "This is what I think of your precious Mitra.", the blade digging deep.
Greatsword: 1d20 + 5 + 2 ⇒ (16) + 5 + 2 = 23 for 2d6 + 4 + 2 ⇒ (6, 4) + 4 + 2 = 16
Just to be clear, the +2 are favoured enemy bonus, not flanking..

GM Blood |

Tearyn, he moved 5' away from you last round so with your discussion post I am assuming you are not moving 5' towards him to attack and instead are moving away from him. (You were at E60 and he is at C61)
Grumblejack moves against the wall blocking Sir Balin and gaining a flanking advantage. He swings his greataxe connecting with a wicked blow. Somehow despite multiple wounds, Sir Balin clings to life.
Attack 1d20 + 8 + 2 ⇒ (12) + 8 + 2 = 22

Daimon Pyre |

Kilthan? gives GM a glass of water Just to make sure that we are on the same page Big Balin (that's his name now) has taken 68 points of damage (8 Rytara's Club + 10 Daimon's Greatsword + 17 Daimon's Claws + 16 Irikar's Greatsword + 17 Grumblejack's Axe) unless he has DR of some sort. Also
*There is no Kilthan* (read as from the Matrix)
Stabilization DC 10: 1d20 + 2 - 1 ⇒ (13) + 2 - 1 = 14
Daimon falls unconscious, but his will to live is strong and he isn't any immediate threat of death. Well except for the crazed nigh indestructible knight that is bringing down the group one by one.

Irikar Vareth |

Irikar is much less dwarfish. Don't worry. I figured you meant me.

Irikar Vareth |

Irikar smiles at Grumblejack's support, feeling himself falling back into a more familiar fighting style. "Your glowing godling will not save you", he growls, his deep voice echoing through the room.
Greatsword: 1d20 + 5 + 2 + 2 ⇒ (14) + 5 + 2 + 2 = 23 {Favoured Enemy, Flanking} for 2d6 + 4 + 2 + 1 ⇒ (3, 4) + 4 + 2 + 1 = 14 {Favoured Enemy, Trait Bonus from Flanking}
Use a Villain Point to act out of turn...
Irikar snarls, "Enough. You die now, by the will of the Dark Lord."
Greatsword: 1d20 + 5 + 2 + 2 ⇒ (15) + 5 + 2 + 2 = 24 {Favoured Enemy, Flanking} for 2d6 + 4 + 2 + 1 ⇒ (1, 2) + 4 + 2 + 1 = 10 {Favoured Enemy, Trait Bonus from Flanking}

GM Blood |

Irikar's blow is true. Sir Balin, famed Asmodeus witch hunter, and personally responsible for your incarceration, has been slain. Even though he put two of you on the ground, and seriously wounded two others, you have emerged victorious on this day.
Sir Balin is wearing masterwork Full Plate, has a heavy steel shield, longsword, dagger, a beautifully made cloak, a potion. Around his neck is a Sunburst medallion made of silver and sapphire, a holy symbol of Mitra.

Daimon Pyre |

Daimon becomes conscious a couple of seconds later thanks to the healing magic of Tearyn. He remains on the ground for a couple more before standing.
You got him Daimon says, a note of respect in his voice, then adds but of course you didn't do it alone.
Shaking his head clear Daimon turns to Rytara, fully seeing the wound for the first time. How is Asmodeus' name did you survive this?.... Can anyone heal her? How much magic do two have left?
Daimon grabs the medallion, sure that this is what Throne was looking for. He will also carry Rytara if no one can heal her.
Grumblejack, can you carry the rest of the stuff here? And thank you, I'm not sure if we could have done this without you.

![]() |

Tearyn turns to Rytara and shakes her head. "I can call on the Dark Prince's for healing no more today. It appears he already interceded to keep her alive. Can you summon his aid yourself? Do we have any other means of magical healing?"
Tearyn has only her domain spell left, which cannot be converted.

Daimon Pyre |

Only potions, which seems a bit of a waste of resources now that the threat has passed
I guess we see Throne with an unconscious Rytara

Irikar Vareth |

Irikar spits on the corpse. "Your Mitra take you."
He brings the greatsword down one final time, taking Balin's head, then turns to face Daimon. "Indeed. As I said, I am a hunter of men... men such as this one." He pokes Balin's head with the sword then wipes it clean before putting it away.
He then shrugs, his dull voice rumbling, "Though I will say that having able hunting companions is a welcome change."

Daimon Pyre |

So the way I see it Throne gave us 24 hours. We completed his task and I think we could feasibly rest, heal up Rytara, eat some breakfast, polish our armor, and then present the medallion ceremoniously and still maintain the conditions as set forth by him. We could also just go as the beaten bloodied messes that we probably are with Rytara still unconcious and just get it over with. Personally I tend to like the idea to make Throne wait just a little.

Irikar Vareth |

Irikar says, "If we can safely take the time, then I think we owe Rytara the ability to walk out of here."
He pauses a moment before adding, "Besides, I would rather nit step into the next room bloodied and battered only to learn the hard way that our declaration of victory was premature."

Irikar Vareth |

We should set watches, just in case...

Daimon Pyre |

Can't we just go sleep in our rooms? I didn't get the impression we had to stay in the dungeon, just complete it in 24 hours.

Rytara Sumpfkrot |

Unless you want to backtrack out of the dungeon, I think resting where we are is good. I would offer to take first watch, but I think that even with my +11 Perception, the fact that I am unconscious will seriously hinder my usefulness.
With a cleric and an inquisitor, do neither of you have any healing left?
Irikar/DM Blood - do Inquisitors automatically get Infernal Healing? Or do we have to take it with a known spell slot?

Daimon Pyre |

For spontaneous casters an extra spell is always welcome. I assume that doesn't apply to my sorcerer side since it's not my Asmodean class. However, when my paladin side gets to level 4 will that spellcasting side allow for dropping of spells for spontaneous infernal healing?

Daimon Pyre |

I just reviewed the thread. I believe that Irikar cast two spells, once during the cobra fight and once here during the fight with Balin, leaving him one more spell. Seems like we are in luck.
If not and I missed something
Daimon will take first watch, closing the door he leans his back against it.

Irikar Vareth |

I'll add it to my list as a bonus spell. That solves much.
Irikar says, "While we're all clearly hurt, having Rytara's extra magic would probably be most helpful."
Irikar grasps the iron symbol around his neck and calls upon the Dark Lord to restore Rytara to consciousness.
Casts Infernal Healing

![]() |

Tearyn nods as Rytara's wounds begin to heal. "While we are tired and wounded, I would assume sleep in my chambers having returned the medallion rather than rest here."

Rytara Sumpfkrot |

After Irikar uses his magic, you see the massive gash across Rytara's chest slowly begin to fester and ooze. It turns green as though covered in mold. The only thing that indicates she is healing at all is that there is less blood seeping from the wound than before.
A few moments later, Rytara's eyes pop open.
What happen? I recall dodging that monster's blade and then a searing pain in my chest. Did you defeat him?
Rytara looks at her chest which still has a substantial wound including several bones which were broken when Sir Balin's blade struck.
Yikes, it seems I did not manage to dodge the blade. I think I could use a little more of the Dark Lord's power before I will be ready to go forth again.
She speaks a few words in the Infernal tongue and then with a grimace, her wound once again begins to bubble and hiss, yet slowly it closes as though a fungus is slowly zipping the wound shut. When the hissing finishes, there is still a nasty red scar across Rytara's chest, but the wound is mostly closed, the bones appear to have mended, and nothing is left of the fungal growth except for a nasty decaying smell.
HP: 11/17
--> I have 1 Inquisitor spell left.

Daimon Pyre |

Lets head back to Throne with Balin's medallion then.
Daimon gathers Balin's belonging and goes to see Balin's squire. The boy will be part of the delivery to Throne as well.

Irikar Vareth |

Irikar nods, "I agree. Let us return and prove our worth."
