Every ship needs a stowaway. Here is one for the Jenivere.

I would love to play this AP. I am sure that I can follow all your posting rules. I hope I have added everything you have asked for but let me know if I missed something.

Please disregard this character.

Will you be teaching Vestris to use poisons? Excellent reference. Love the series.

Not usually a big fan of real life references but I couldn't resist. Some of the best books around! Though Janus is noting like the Falconer I think he would fit in the setting rather well. L

GM Barrister, I believe I want to play an Archeologist (bard archetype) we seem to have plenty of "ranger" types and archeologist fits well as a skill character with a smattering of spells.

I doesn't appear that 'disable device' is a class skill for them, so I will take a trait that will allow it. Would you mind if I take "Trap Finder"? officially a trait from mummy's mask It would fit the "educated investigator" type better than 'vagabond child' or 'criminal.'

Here is TerminalArtiste's submission.

This is Lekkric18's submission. I don't have his spells and gear done, but most of the fluff and crunch are ready.

I don't have an example of any roleplaying I've done online just yet, because I'm just getting back into it and anything that I had before was eaten by the interwebs. What I do have is a couple of excerpts from the "how do we know each other?" OOC thread of a campaign just starting up, where we got into our characters a little. I play Morley Hastings - old man, ex-pirate, and a bit of a rambler when he gets going. Hanako and Kere are young women, and tend to look to him for his experience. They know he was a sailor, but not necessarily about the pirating.

Excerpt 1:

Hanako:
"You are sailor. What does figurehead mean to man on boat?"

Morley:
"Well now, that's a good question. I never really thought about it, but I guess it adds to the ship's character. Landsmen wouldn't know this, but no two ships are the same, y'know. You take two different ships that came off the same shipwright's pier, and they're like a pair of twin babies. Sure, they look the same right now, but life gives 'em differences. One might grow up to be smarter, always with his head in the books, while the other one is outside running rampant. Maybe one likes his hair long, while the other one grows himself some dyed-blue spikes on his head. Hmph, kids do all kinds of weird crap these days. It's the same with ships, y'know. They get themselves a character. The figurehead is the nose rings and tattoos. It tells ya that no matter what you might think of how she looks, she's one of a kind and she's yours."

Excerpt 2:

Kere:
Turning to Morley, Kere says, "Hanako does did make a good point earlier, though. You have been many places and seen many things. Do you have any ideas where a roc egg might be found? Besides in a roc's nest, I mean?" And she chortles.

Morley:
Morley snorts out a quick laugh. "If ya knows where to look, you can find someone sellin' pretty much anything." The grin leaves his face, quickly replaced by a stern scowl. "Those places ain't safe though, for someone like you. You'd be better off climbin' fer one right outta the nest yourself!"

He smiles again, his eyes go distant and his accent becomes thicker as he launches into a story.

"That reminds me of this time, when I was still just a lad, we was sailin' way out east and we came across this little island that weren't on any o' the charts. We saw this big bird flying way off high, and the cap'n figger'd it was one o' them big rocs. Well, he gets it in his head to send one o' the men up the cliff face - this island weren't much more'n a rock stickin' up outta the water - to steal us some eggs to sell. 'Course, since I'm the smallest and the quickest in the riggin', I was the one he saw fit to send up there. When I finally got to the top, not without almost fallin' a couple times I might add, guess what I found? It was a friggin' hawk's nest! That damn bird we saw weren't nearly so high nor so big as we thought! To make things even better, as soon as I stepped anywhere near that nest the damned bird started attackin' me! I had to run and jump off the damned edge to get away from the thing, which the rest of the crew found friggin' hilarious when they dragged my sodden ass - sorry, 'scuse the language - when they dragged me outta the water spittin' and coughin'. You can believe I was damned happy when I finally stuck a kn... When that old bastard retired."

I apologize for the silliness of the first paragraph of the backstory. I read that being allowed to grow a beard was a perk of the aristocracy in Taldor and wrote the bit about "preparing for politics and beard grooming", and it just went downhill from there lol. I also think it expresses the complete one-eighty in Arius's personality after the events of that first paragraph, which is why I kept it in :)

Forgot to add that I've never played the AP before, if that matters. I haven't done any of them lol.

No.

Or yes.

I do not want you to take Trap Finder; that trait, unlike the other two, gives you the ability to disarm magic traps. That might be suitable for Mummy's Mask, I'm not sure, but adding an entire class feature for the cost of one trait is a bit much for me.

If it's simply an issue of flavor, rename one of Vagabond Child/Criminal to fit your theme better; you could even call it "Trapfinder," so long as it solely gives you the +1 and Class to DD.

I'll be pulling out of this recruitment. Good luck to all potential recruits and I hope you all enjoy yourselves.

Come back.... I need to draw you.

I've added a picture to Mizu no Hana's profile.

I suppose I should note that I have not played this AP but I am familiar with it.

cool, definitely going with the bard archetype "archeologist" now to determine the race, probably aasimar, but we'll see.

Here is Rossi44's submission. I've also read over your posting rules carefully. I haven't yet chosen equipment but otherwise, this should cover everything. I'll handle the equipment piece later today. Please let me know if I missed anything else.

I've never had the pleasure of experiencing PbP Pathfinder before, so this will be new and exciting for me should I get selected. I've been playing a tabletop Pathfinder homebrew campaign as a Cleric for about 2 years with four other friends.

Liberty's Edge

I'm about 80% done on my character's crunch, and 60% with the fluff. It's been a busy week for me, but I should have the whole thing up soon.

Just to give everyone an idea of where he'd fit in to a group dynamic, since Occultists can go so many different directions:

He's primarily a blaster (something Occultists can actually do quite well!) with a secondary focus in defensive magic. Initially it's going to be primarily to shore up the fact that he is the brittlest of glass canons, but by the late early levels I'll have nice protective stuff I can share around with the party.

Skill-wise he's got a handful of the Knowledges, solid competency with UMD, and he can deal effectively with non-magical traps (and if there's a superior trapsmith in the group, he's virtually guaranteed to succeed at handing out a +2 from Aid Another. Yay teamwork!).

Submitting this character for consideration; an alchemist that's aimed at being a controller and secondary healer. Everything relevant should be on her profile, but please let me know if there's anything missing or that needs to be adjusted. I may do some tweaking of her background and personality sections before the deadline but she's more or less complete.

I'd rather not have it on her profile, so here's an RP sample from another character from a game that finished last October:

RP Sample:

As Nef squeezes her hand, Jacinth's first instinct is to pull away. Lying, putting on a mask, these things had always come easily to her. But ever since leaving Port Shaw, she had found it more and more difficult to consistently hide her feelings from these people that had been hired to be her new crew. Although she had braved the transparency that Nef's truth-telling spell had brought, she had told herself that it was a one-and-done deal, something to endure in the interest of reaching her own goals. Except her transparency had brought her something unexpected - respect. Respect that then brought...

Her eyes flicker over Reknar, Oren, Lani, and Aikane.

Camaraderie?

Her gaze then shifts to the young priestess.

Friendship?

Finally, she steals a glance at Rata.

Maybe something more?

Once again, she feels a sudden and surprising surge of affection for the people standing around her. Despite her efforts to maintain her distance she had formed a bond with these people, one that was being tested and strengthened even now by their shared ordeals. Though in many ways she had more in common with those lying on the litters, she had never felt as close to any of them as she did now to the six individuals who had agreed to do their utmost to help her fix her mistake.

Is this what Uncle and my parents wanted for me to learn?

She squeezes Nef's hand in return. "Thank you, Nef," she says quietly. She offers Reknar a smile. "And you as well. When we return to Port Shaw, we shall all go out to celebrate and to sight-see. Though...the places I am familiar with might be too...restrictive for you. However, I suspect those three," she points at Oren, Lani, and Aikane, "might know some places that would suit splendidly!" she chuckles.

Sense Motive: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (20) + 6 = 26

As the group prepares to hoist the litters and make the last push to the beach, Jacinth's more experienced eye is immediately caught by Nef's startled and confused reaction to Reknar's affectionate pat on the rump. Though she was fairly certain that the warrior had meant nothing untoward by it, it was clear that Nef was not. She sighs to herself wearily as she watches the priestess quickly climb astride Wedjat and take to the skies with Elizabeth once more.

Oh Reknar you poor fool, what have you done? You meant well but that was the last thing that Nef needed right now.

She then risks a glance in Oren's direction, wondering if he had picked up on Nef's confusion and discomfort as well.

I'm fond of everyone's ideas so far, and it's certainly going to be a difficult decision.

I'm without a PC for a few days, so if you have any questions related specifically to your character as presented so far, feel free to PM me; I can see and respond to them easier from my phone that way.

If you have a general question about what I will or will not allow, please continue to post it here, since that would likely be useful to everyone. I'll get to them, just with less haste, until I get a real keyboard back.

I built this following your instructions on the Gestalt thread.. I'll have to edit the stats a little, but I know which ones to edit already.

Rezu is just a Mesmerist, who was part of a Gypsy Band for a while, learning tricks while working on her skills.

I am going to pull Rezu from the running. Still staying in the other one though.

I'd like to submit Jacqira Argentide for consideration for this game.

RP Sample:

I don't have an RP sample for Jacqira as I have yet to play the character so here is a sample from another character of mine

A stocky Dwarf wearing a simple shirt and trousers, walks in to the room. His rather plain appearance could mark him as nought but a townie were it not for the backpack slung over a shoulder and the strips of cloth wrapped around his hands.

"Greetings friends." He says cheerfully. "Name's Fellstone. I was told to meet...up...here...." The Dwarfs voice trails off and his brow crinkles as the smell of animal musk hits him.

Irori's blessed backside! Were they rolling around in the stables?

Submitting Seferneru, human slayer from the Shackles who likes the Red Mantis fighting technique much more than their ethics.

You can see roleplaying samples from my old characters; here's some of them:
Telemakos
Eysteinn
Roman

Background:
Seferneru grew up in Port Peril, son of an Osirian merchant and a Garundi tavern-keeper, who had settled down their businesses in the turbulent port city of the Shackles.
Growing up, his family had enough money to avoid struggling and debts, but also enough to be a target of the many criminals of the city: as such, Seferneru learned from a young age the importance of keeping his valuables hidden, and check for signs of intrusion in his own home.
As soon as he was old enough his father had him trained in the basic use of weapons and, and taught him how to sport traps and ambushes.

To Seferneru, this seemed a bit excessive as a precaution against petty thieves, but there where deeper reasons. Unbeknownst to him, his parents had gotten more and more in debt with “razor” Rascaro, a local crime lord and loan shark, and feared for the life of their only son.

It was a terrifying day in the life of the fifteen year old Seferneru when Rascaro and half a dozen brutes
broke into their home to brutalize, possibly kill his parents. Both his mother and father were completely helpless, at the mercy of the criminals. The family hopelessly hid in a closet as the thugs advanced, when…

Rascaro Lushka of Port Peril, called “the razor”” said a raspy voice “Captain Owembe wasn’t satisfied with your last business together, and sent me to negotiate a new payment.” Seferneru had just the time to spy through the closet keyhole: a series of red, quick slashes, and the brutes where on the ground, dying. In front of a bleeding Rascaro, a man in a Red Mantis mask and twin sawtooth sabers. A last slash, and Rascaro was on the ground, a wound open from neck to navel. As silent as he came in, the assassin disappeared.

It was the most impressive thing he ever saw: the quickness of movements, the lack of any noise in his steps, the fear in seeing the assassin… Seferneru was hooked. He wanted to be that good – but he knew he couldn’t become an assassin, for his morals where solid.

The Red Mantis probably wouldn’t have liked witnesses of one of their dealings. It seemed wise to move, and Seferneru was getting old enough to leave the nest. With the blessings of his parents, he bought a place on Jenivere – while trying to learn as much as possible about the Red Mantis’s techniques without incurring in the wrath of the assassin cult.

Appearance:

Of medium height, wiry and athletic, Seferneru is a strapping young lad with the deep tan complexion of most northern Garundi. He wears light armor and clothes with a bit more red in them than it would be wise; when in combat, or scouting, he wears a red bandana over his nose and mouth. He carries a sawtooth saber as his primary weapon.
IMAGE

Personality:

Seferneru is skilled and capable, but a bit too reckless. The very skill he pursues is incredibly dangerous – the Red Mantis makes a point of punishing those who misuse their weapon of choice. Still, he is in such awe of the style that can’t be swayed from his quest.
With friends and allies, he is fun-loving and quick to the joke, always ready to take a risk for his mate. In combat he is dedicated and dissolves into a silent stabbing machine – in a sense, he does wear a mask, just like a real Red Mantis.

Crunch:

Seferneru will be a ranger/fighter focused on using Sawtooth sabres. Dazzling Display represents an intimidating stance, pale copy of the proper Mantis Strike of course, but still effective.

Hmmm, a writing sample, most of my aliases have decent examples. Some longer, some shorter depending on circumstances.

Here is a recent one for Vandomir my Hell's Rebels character. That character definitely has some good ones if you don't like the one I just linked to.

Your posting/formatting will take some getting used to, but I'll give it the good old college try.

Here is Redelia's character.

In a previous campaign Garri applied to, we did a bit of roleplay in the recruitment thread, which can be found here, and the following pages:
http://paizo.com/campaigns/GMRennaisConquestOfBloodswornVale/recruiting& ;page=2

His background also contains his promise to be good, which is a good picture of his personality.

Also, you know me from The Opened Mind game you're in (as GM Redelia).

Garri might be a little weak mechanically now, but the build will come together as soon as he can take the Dawnflower Dervish feat.

Sorry about the late submission. I've been away for a good while so I'm not real clear on some of the stuff, like background skills, I also don't have the unchained book, so I'll be offering up a mundane Summoner.

Zared Nakal:
Full Name: Zared Nakal
Race: Changeling
Class: Summoner
Gender: female
Size: 4'10” 110lbs
Age: 19
Alignment: Neutral Good
Deity: Sarenrae
Location: Ustalav
Languages: Common, Elven
Occupation: vagabond

Stats:
Strength 10
Dexterity 14
Constitution 12
Intelligence 12
Wisdom 10
Charisma 18

Background:
Zared Nakal has lived alone for several months now, as young as she is. She was raised as an only child in the woods between Tamrivena and Ravengro. Her mother was a druid, and her father was a ranger, and both were very suspicious of the outside world. Zared later realized that their suspicions might have had to do with their proximity to both Gallowspire and Belkzen, but it could also have had to do with the fact that they weren't really her parents.

Zared's life changed the day her home was attacked. It was sometime after dark, and she was getting ready for bed when a couple of undead creatures burst through the door of the cabin. Her parents fought valiantly, and slew the beasts, but the green hag that entered afterward dispatched them both. Zared watched the whole thing through the door from the bedroom, and the hag caught her while she tried to escape through the window. New undead appeared at each of the rooms exits, and the hag sat across from Zared and spoke with her as though they were acquaintances. She explained that she was Zared's real mother, and that it was time for Zared to embrace her destiny. The hag claimed that Zared would become a hag herself, and that she had come to see the process along. In an attempt to convince Zared, she used her magic to morph into a young woman, apparently only a few years older than Zared herself. She explained that Zared didn't need to worry about losing her youth or beauty, as it would always be within her grasp.

Zared heard very little of it, she was lost within the horror of the moment, and what little she did hear she refused to believe. In truth, she was waiting for the beast to kill her, and hoping against hope that it would be quick and painless. At one point, she found herself missing the mundane terrors she'd experienced only hours before: fears of deep water and spiders, rather than the loss of her parents, the undead, or hideous beasts claiming blood relation to her. Apparently something heard her plea, because no sooner had she imagined the tarantula that had frightened her the day before than a spider identical but Zared's size appeared behind the hag and attacked her, bowling her over in surprise. Zared seized the moment, escaping through the front room, grabbing her father's sword as she went and ran from the house, mindlessly slashing at whatever might get in her way. She ran until she was too exhausted to continue, and then found an alcove to hide in as sleep overtook her.

She awoke the next morning hungry, cold and tired, and she realized that she didn't have anything she would need to provide for herself, she barely even knew what she would need, especially since her father's sword had apparently been lost in her flailing. She slowly made her way back to the cabin, dread nearly overtaking her, where she found no sign of the hag or its undead servants, though the discovery of her parents' bodies wiped away Zared's hunger. She spent what was left of the day burying her parents, though she just dumped the other corpses somewhere out of sight, careful to not touch them with bare skin. After eating something she found in the house, Zared went back to a fitful sleep, fearing that the hag would return. That night she dreamed of the spider she'd seen, and to add to the whimsy of it, it spoke to her. The spider introduced itself as Igorath, a name Zared found eerily appropriate for an overly large tarantula, and it said it was there to protect her. Igorath told her that she had called him into being, and that he would return the favor by serving her as long as she wished. When she awoke, she found the spider next to her bed, watching over her the way a pet dog would. She was repulsed by the sight of it, though remembering the dream, she pushed aside her revulsion and held out her hand, touching the creature. Igorath told her that there was nothing left for her here, especially since the hag would know where to find her if she didn't leave. As much as she didn't want to take the advice of a giant spider, Zared knew there was no other choice. She set out, collecting a few things from around the house, her mother's crossbow, her father's armor, and what little gold she found.

Once she was out of the house, the illusion of safety evaporated, and she felt eyes upon her at all times. It was then that she grew to appreciate Igorath, even if she still feared him. He seemed to know what they should do at any given time, he could hunt, and he could identify which of the plants she brought him were safe to eat, even if he couldn't tell her which ones would taste good. Zared can't help but admit that she would have died many times over without Igorath looking out for her. Igorath didn't offer any insight as to where they should go, only pointing out when they were turning away from their path, though he did advise her of how to avoid heading into Nidal as they made their way south and west.

Zared's sense of being watched only compounded after they crossed the border into Cheliax. They reached Pezzack after following the coast for some time; Zared formed a plan as she watched the ships in the distance. She wondered if the hag could chase her across the ocean, she hoped not. It was not her intention to sneak aboard; she tried to book passage on several ships, but was turned away for want of gold, usually at the point of a sword if they saw Igorath with her. The Jenivere was her last hope, especially after Igorath told her how he could be unsummoned, though the handful of coins in her possession were not enough to book passage. Deciding that she had to get on the water that night, and believing that any crewman that had seen Igorath would kill her if she was found, she boarded the Jenivere when the night watch was distracted. She hadn't put much thought into the length of the trip, or how to avoid detection during that time. She managed to avoid detection by staying in her hideaway in the cargo hold until the ship set out. By that time, she was starving, and was more interested in getting something to eat than remaining undetected. Zared was found in the ships stores, eating everything she could get her hands on.

She was taken to the captain, where she begged for mercy; offering up a tear streaked performance that would make the greatest of bards blush with envy. She told her story, a highly sanitized version, of it, anyway. She told the captain that her parents had been murdered, and that their killer had pursued her to Cheliax. She made no mention of hags, or talking spiders, or even undead, since she didn't think any of that would help her cause. The captain seemed to take pity on her, offering to let her stay on the ship and get off at any port they stopped at, in a quick and unthinking answer that she immediately regretted, Zared blurted out “far from Ustalav”. The captain replied that that would be Sargava, and she was allowed to stay. Zared is ashamed of the way she acted in front of the captain, attributing her behavior to the culmination of several weeks’ worth of constant stress rather than a deliberate attempt to manipulate anyone. Since then, she has mostly kept to herself, trying to stay out of the way.

Optional bit about how she sees the world:
Zared is in a strange place in her head. She thinks, possibly correctly, that she has lost everything that had meaning to her. He is a fine protector and provider, but Igorath is a cold comfort for losing her family. On top of that, she has become fairly paranoid, given that she hasn't seen the hag that killed her parents since that night, despite the beast having an apparent interest in her.

Because of this, she has come to believe that she is becoming a hag without any intervention, as though it were some kind of disease of the blood that she can't escape. She is terrified that someone will discover her secret, and at the same time desperate to find someone who can help. In addition, there is the matter of Igorath; she knows nothing of Summoners. She has no idea why she can cast spells, or why a very large, intelligent spider is looking out for her. And why a spider? She can still barely muster up the courage to smash one beneath her boot, and yet one is her closest, and now only companion? As a result of all of this, she is understandably shy, and especially hesitant to talk about herself.

For a roleplaying sample, I would offer this. I was playing as Jack Marshall, and I linked to that page because I think page three and four is where his story starts getting interesting.

Crunch is all done and in profile, working on background.

Also here is a example of roleplaying in a separate campaign, My character is Grunyar Goldenbelt. Yes, it is in the Discussion thread.

Background finished,all done! :)

Thanks for doing the extra organizational work, Robert Henry! :D

I'm withdrawing Garri from consideration. I have found another opportunity for him. I hope GM Barrister is OK, because we haven't heard from him in a while.

Still time to try a spot?

Yes, I read this. My doubt is if he had opened any exceptions about this deadline. But thank you for the answer.

Hope everything wraps up well!

I guess by now it is safe to say that GM Barrister guaranteed me a spot in either this or the gestalt run of SS (the choice was mine) and I was very excited about the game, but I also have not heard from him in quite some time. Hopefully, whatever he is going through isn't serious and he will still be able to run this game for us all.

In terms of Novennia, I might scrap the character altogether and talk with him about the characters he is planning on accepting and build around that. I just wasn't feeling particularly inspired by the story I wove for this character. I might like to build an archery ranger, but I'm not so keen on the idea of dealing with an AC in pbp format.

Let's all keep optimistic and hopefully we will hear from him soon.
