Wheeler takes a step back to put some distance between himself and Cortland and reaches into his pack for a small vial.
5 ft step, pull a vial of acid

shortbow: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (17) + 2 = 19dmg: 1d6 ⇒ 3
... and hits him.
Orange stands still, transfixed by something that Ninnic has done to him.
Raynard is up!

Round 3
Conditions: Catwalk is 15' above the ground; The catwalk is reached via a ladder at the right edge of the map (or by climbing - DC 15 - various ropes hanging down all over the place).
Wheeler - 2 dmg; entangled; staggered;
Red - dmg;

Robbin - 4 dmg;
Cortland - 8 dmg; nauseated (r3);
Light Blue ? - dmg;
With a single devastating blow, Raynard strikes down the hapless Orange.
Green looks pretty wobbly - he attempts to move away from Robbin, but can't get far.
Yellow picks up his shortbow and shoots down at Cortland.
shortbow: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (11) + 2 = 13
dmg: 1d6 ⇒ 6
But his arrow flies astray.
Purple stabilization: 1d20 + 1 - 7 ⇒ (15) + 1 - 7 = 9
Ninnic, Gorak, Robbin, and Cortland are up!

GM Abraham |

GM can I move after my attack? I still have move action
Definitely.

GM Abraham |

Ninnic makes for the stairs, trying to help Robbin again the the remaining enemies.
could someone move me 40’ towards/up the stairs, please?
Done. Note that puts you very near (but not in) the swarm's current position. The ladder up to the catwalk is in the square currently occupied by Cortland. There are also ropes hanging down basically everywhere, but those would require a Climb check.

GM Abraham |

Ugh, I’d better delay then. Climbing isn’t my thing and neither is fighting swarms.
Ok, moved you back to your previous position and put you on delay. Note that the foes on the catwalk should be reachable by your spells if you are in the right position (the catwalk is 15' up).

Round 3
Conditions: Catwalk is 15' above the ground; The catwalk is reached via a ladder at the right edge of the map (or by climbing - DC 15 - various ropes hanging down all over the place).
Wheeler - 2 dmg; entangled; staggered;
Red - dmg;
Orange - 20 dmg; short sword dropped; prone; unconscious; dying;
Raynard - dmg;
Green - 8 dmg; 1 non-lethal; short sword dropped; prone; unconscious;
Yellow - dmg; short sword dropped;
Ninnic - dmg; on delay;
Purple - 18 dmg;
Gorak - 14 dmg; +30' speed (r10); Legacy Weapon +1 sword (r20);
Robbin - 4 dmg;
Cortland - 8 dmg; nauseated (r3);
Light Blue ? - dmg;
After striking down his foe, Raynard begins to climb up a rope to the catwalk. Quarter speed, so you are 7.5 feet up in the air, i.e. halfway to the catwalk.
Robbin rushes forward and strikes Green the lightest tap but, just like a feather, he falls over, unconscious.
Gorak and Cortland (nauseated) are up!

![]() |

Gorak steps away from the bloody paste of a man, and back towards the commotion at the step ladder. As he moves, he pulls a vial of acid from his belt and- having placed himself in an opportune position- heaves it at the closest of the swarms.

Round 4
Conditions: Catwalk is 15' above the ground; The catwalk is reached via a ladder at the right edge of the map (or by climbing - DC 15 - various ropes hanging down all over the place).
Wheeler - 3 dmg; entangled;
Red - dmg;
Orange - 20 dmg; short sword dropped; prone; unconscious; dying;
Raynard - dmg;
Green - 8 dmg; 1 non-lethal; short sword dropped; prone; unconscious;
Yellow - dmg; short sword dropped;
Ninnic - dmg; on delay;
Purple - 18 dmg;
Gorak - 14 dmg; +30' speed (r10); Legacy Weapon +1 sword (r20);
Robbin - 4 dmg;
Cortland - 9 dmg; nauseated (r4); entangled; Fort vs Euphoric Slime needed at start of turn (i.e. when coming off delay); on delay;
Light Blue ? - 1 dmg;
Although Gorak's acid flask misses his target, it lands close enough to the swarm of oozes to catch them in its splash, doing some modest damage.
Putting Cortland on delay
The swarm moves to engulf its closest targets: Cortland and Wheeler, each of whom again takes a single point of damage.
Cortland Fort vs distraction: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (3) + 2 = 5
Wheeler Fort vs distraction: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (13) + 1 = 14
Again, Wheeler manages to resist the nauseating effects of the ooze's slimy globules, but Cortland succumbs and remains nauseated.
Cortland Reflex vs viscous: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (4) + 5 = 9
Wheeler Reflex vs viscous, entangled: 1d20 + 6 - 2 ⇒ (6) + 6 - 2 = 10
Both of the heroes find themselves entangled in the foul ooziness of the swarm. Full round action to remove
Start of Round 4
Wheeler Fort vs euphoric slime: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (15) + 1 = 16 This is a poison & mind-affecting effect.
Perhaps due to having already experienced the euphoria of the ooze seeping into his pores, Wheeler is not so easily distracted this time and manages to resist its attractions, such as they are. Wheeler, you are still entangled but you can otherwise act normally - no staggered effect.
Wheeler is up and Ninnic and Cortland (nauseated and Fort needed) are on delay.

Wheeler takes a step back and lobs his vial at the furthest patch of the swarm.

Round 4
Conditions: Catwalk is 15' above the ground; The catwalk is reached via a ladder at the right edge of the map (or by climbing - DC 15 - various ropes hanging down all over the place).
Ninnic - dmg;
Wheeler - 3 dmg; entangled;
Red - dmg; shortbow dropped;

Yellow - dmg; short sword dropped;
Purple - 18 dmg;
Gorak - 14 dmg; +30' speed (r10); Legacy Weapon +1 sword (r20);
Robbin - 4 dmg;
Cortland - 17 dmg; nauseated (r4); entangled; staggered;
Light Blue ? - 7 dmg;
Ninnic draws an alchemist's fire and moves towards the battle. Updated your position on the map.
Wheeler easily tosses his vial of acid amidst the tiny swarming oozes, which sizzle and hiss unpleasantly before scattering for more hospitable circumstances. The swarm is destroyed.
Red fires his shortbow at the menacing tengu monk...
shortbow: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (10) + 2 = 12
... but the arrow flies astray. Then he drops his bow and, drawing his shortsword, invites Robbin forward with an evil grin.
Yellow fires his bow down the ladder hole at Cortland...

CRIT CONFIRM? shortbow: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (19) + 2 = 21
dmg + crit: 3d6 ⇒ (1, 5, 2) = 8
... the arrow wounds the nauseated and entangled investigator grievously, though he still stands.
Cortland Fort vs euphoric slime: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (2) + 2 = 4
Despite his serious wounds, the ooze globules that still cover his skin seep through his pores, causing him to break out in maniacal laughter. Cortland, you are staggered (as well as nauseated & entangled)
Gorak, Cortland, and Robbin are up!

![]() |

With the destruction of the swarm, Gorak uses his magically enhanced speed to push past Cortland and up the ladder.
25 feet to the base of the ladder. Current movement is 50 feet.
He steps through the opening, hoping to dodge the strike that he is sure is coming. He focuses his energy on his defense, a small ripple of psychic energy surrounds him
Swift: Focus, mind barrier. Ignore the first 4 points of damage taken this round.
He then takes the opportunity to swing at the yellow figure on the catwalk.
+1 greatsword: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (4) + 6 = 10 Damage: 2d6 + 7 ⇒ (4, 3) + 7 = 14

GM Abraham |

Gorak, the ladder is an easy DC 0 Climb check, so even with your armor you can probably readily move up using accelerated climbing (half speed instead of quarter speed), but that still doesn't leave you quite enough movement to get to the top of the ladder. In addition, you need two hands free to climb, so you'll need to either drop your greatsword (free action) or sheathe it (move action). Either way, you don't have enough actions to move 25' to the ladder, free up your hands, climb up 15', and attack.
Raynard, Gorak, Cortland, and Robbin are up!

GM Abraham |

Raynard struggles with the rope, neither falling, nor making any progress.
You can use a second move action to try again if you wish

Light Blue ? - 7 dmg;
Blue skulk - dmg;
Raynard completes his climb up the rope to the catwalk, where he finds Robbin battling the remaining foes. Raynard, I moved your token to the catwalk section of the map
Robbin, the Green foe you attacked is already unconscious. Instead I'll assume that you moved and single attacked. Robbin, perhaps to his surprise, manages to punch the Red enemy solidly.
Gorak stows his weapon and prepares to climb up the ladder.
Leaving Cortland on delay. I've sent him a PM but no response. If someone wishes to bot him feel free.
Then, suddenly and without warning, a skulk appears behind Wheeler and drives a short sword towards his unsuspecting back! I've added a Blue token on the map. Although you recognize him as a skulk - like the ones you met earlier in the robbery scene at the pawn shop - this is not one of the individuals you met earlier.

Wheeler, I don't think you can parry a blow when you were not aware of the attacker, can you?
However, it's your turn, do you want me to just treat this as your attack on the skulk?

Blue skulk - dmg;
Wheeler takes a moment to wipe off the remaining globules of ooze and sets himself to respond to any future attack from the skulk.
Ninnic hurries towards the ladder. I moved you on the map.
Red swings his shortsword at Robbin...

Robbin - 4 dmg;
Cortland - 17 dmg; nauseated (r4); entangled; staggered; on delay;
Light Blue ? - 7 dmg;
Blue skulk - dmg;
Raynard attempts to tumble past Red but unfortunately he is not quite acrobatic enough to pull it off.
shortsword AoO: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (7) + 1 = 8
Luckily, Red's counterswipe comes nowhere near to Raynard.
So this falls under the weird quirks of Pathfinder's rules: failing to tumble through his square you provoke an AoO and also lose your move action. This would leave you in the square you were leaving, but you can't be in that square because Robbin is there, so you end up in the square just before that. Sorry, I know it kind of defeats the whole point of the tumbling in the first place...
Raynard stumbles back, eluding Red's sword, but also finding himself back behind Robbin where he began. Raynard, I've updated your position on the map.
Yellow takes aim at the new threat presented by Raynard.

Gorak charges the skulk and delivers a vicious hit with his greatsword. The fellow wobbles but does not fall.
Robbin drops Red with his first kick. Assuming you then 5' step and deliver the second attack to Yellow. The second kick also strikes Yellow, though he remains standing.
Cortland remains on delay.
The skulk appears unhappy with the beating Gorak has just given him. Shouting, "Help! Thieves! Robbers! HELP!!!" at the top of his lungs he retreats out of view. Full withdrawal action. He moves out of view behind the crates, in the direction shown by an arrow on the map.

With a devastating blow, Raynard nearly kills Yellow, who collapses into a lump.
Ninnic moves over to the ladder but finds that he is not quite able to climb up.
Wheeler runs after the fleeing skulk and stops short when he sees an open trapdoor in the floor. If he has any doubts about whether or not the skulk has gone that way, they are removed when he hears the skulk loudly raising the alarm as he descends.
If there are other enemies down below, it seems likely that they are now aware of your presence.
Pathfinders are - at least for the moment - victorious! We are out of initiative. However, the clock is still ticking. Since I have heard nothing from Cortland, we'll just leave him sitting upstairs while the rest of you head into the finale. Let me know what healing or other preparations you wish to make and then I'll transition us to the final act.

As the skulk rounds the corner, the tall half-orc shoulders drop and his body language falls. His crimson jacket is now has several deep red stains that are slowly spreading- while the his top hat changes color to a listless gray.
"It's Ok, mates. Need a bit of a second to catch my breath is all. Never you worry, Ol' Gorak will be just fine, he will he will!"
His hands fumble around on his belt, full of small skulls, pieces of leather, and other bobbles- sliding along it all until he grabs hold of a thin wooden stick.
Pulling it up, he taps himself gently.
"Bloody thing..." he mutters under his breath before the magics finally spring to life.

Can someone give Robbin a hand? Looks like he got tagged up there. They're going to be ready for us, so let's be ready for them being ready.

GM Abraham |

Out of Initiative
Conditions:
Ninnic - dmg;
Wheeler - 3 dmg;
Raynard - dmg;
Gorak - 1 dmg;
Robbin - 4 dmg;
Cortland - 17 dmg;
Gorak heals himself and the group readies to descend into the trap door.
Just want to double-check if anyone else wants to do healing before we continue? See the stat block just above for the current damage tallies. I believe that Robbin said that he does not have a wand.
Also, I heard from Cortland, who has been overtaken by Real Life. I don't know if he'll join us for the final act or not but if he does we can retroactively handle his healing (since he's pretty beat up). Otherwise, I'll assume he waits upstairs while the rest of you descend.
I'll move us forward as soon as I know whether Wheeler wants to heal up and whether anyone with a means of healing wants to heal Robbin.
