Jory opens the door and sees the following room.
The sound of sloshing water fills this room, which
has almost entirely collapsed into a large tide pool.
What few walls do remain intact here bear detailed
and impressive carvings of incredible treasuries
filled to overflowing with coins, gems, jewelry, and
other items of value. To the east, the walls depict a
carving of a towering mountain, its peak carved in
the shape of a stern face just above a great palace.
Below, the side of the mountain’s valley cradles an
immense city of spires.

Seeing nothing of further interest in this room, Andraste decides to go see what the others found in the secret door, and quickly catches up to Raoul.

Raoul follows Jory into the tide-pool room. "What interesting carvings on this wall," he says out loud to nobody in particular.
The wizard sidles up to Jory and notes of his sketching, "Quite good - much better than I could hope to do." As Raoul examines the carvings while staying out of Jory's way, he considers what significance the representations may hold.

As most of the party stays topside, you hear the dwarf shout as he gets out paper to sketch his findings. Before he makes even a scribble something happens.
The gold helmet down below suddenly shifts
and moves, as if it were rotating to look at Jory.
As Jory approaches the pool, the helm suddenly rises up to release a
pair of immense claws and spindly legs.

Andrazi swings back at the crab, but without luck, his blade goes wide.
Jory waits for Raoul to fire a magic bolt of energy before he steps back and shoots a pair of arrows. The first bounces off the hard shell but the second goes into an eye and the beast thrashes for a bit, but continues to stand.

That last post confuses me, if Jory's second attack missed, and Andrazi hit, then I hit, but didn't confirm, meaning it should have taken 20 more damage, 9 from me and 11 from Andrazi, which puts it at having taken 50. Also, how is it attacking and hitting me without any dice being rolled?
The bleeding crab lashes out with its two claws, hitting Andraste.
GM Aarvid
Let me see if this helps. Jory's 2nd attack missed due to cover -4. Andrazi hit with a 24 and your post was made while I was typing, so it was not included in my summary post as they crossed...but your hit will hit and confirm. I am puzzled about the 'dice not being rolled' comment. The claw rolled a 27 to hit your AC 20. The other missed Aelfward.

In the pool, the remains of what must have once been
an incredible treasury lie in the sloshing waters. Shattered
urns, crumbled stone chests, rusted bits of once-beautiful
armor and weapons, and other long-ruined treasures
from an ancient past lie below.
Most impressive of them
all is a large, coral-encrusted helmet sized for a giant; the
helm measures nearly 5 feet across, and its full-face guard
bears an expression of twisted rage and fangs. The helm
appears to be made of gold.
GM Aarvid
Any actions down here or head back upstairs or all the way up to the fort level to rest? Also, what of the two women you fought? Lyrie the wizard, and Nualia the fallen?
GM Aarvid
Leaving the pool room with the large gold helmet, you climb the stairs and rerun to Nualia's library. Nualia is still out cold on the floor where you left her, unless someone heals her. She would also need to be carried anywhere upstairs.
The young Mage, Lyrie, is thoroughly dejected, and does not put up any resistance other than to ignore Aelfward.
Also, keep in mind that up in the fort and throne room, very few of the goblins were actually slain. It may matter if you go that far, since I do not recall them being bound etc.
