Jory moves to the eastern door that the elf indicated. The door opens without difficulty, revealing a hallway ending in another door 15' away.

Kyra, joined by Jory, listen at the new door but do not see or hear anything beyond...or maybe the sound of waves?
Opening the door reveals a cavern. Crates, barrels, and mounds of miscellaneous refuse lie heaped against the walls here. To the north, the sound of crashing surf echoes.

Stepping into the room that Jory just opened, Andraste cannot help but state, "I think we may have found a dock."

Other than the crates and barrels, the main interest is the passageway leading north with sounds of the surf some distance below.
(as you recall you entered the ground floor via the rope bridge and were some 80' up. You did not descend that far on the flight of stairs to this level.)

Following the passage north, Jory rounds the corner and sees a large chamber with daylight. The floor of this cavern seems strangely polished and smooth. To the east, a thick curtain of vines and nettles hangs down over a wide opening overlooking the Varisian Gulf.

Jory creeps into the room while Kyra basks in the diffracted sunlight. I have Raoul and Andraste in the storage room and Andrazi, Aelfward and Orik in the main/stair room. (per map)
Other than the sunlight, sea-spray and vines as described, Jory does not see anything else in the room.
In the light, he can see towards the northwest of the chamber, there is a passageway back to the west branching to another opening going north.

Raoul moves past the dwarf towards the western passage. Just as he rounds the corner, one of the damp vines hanging in the opening towards the sea lashes out at the elf.

Jory unleashes a pair of arrows. The first misses the creature as he tries to avoid hitting the wizard. The second arrow buries deeply into the viney creature.
Kyra moves up and taps the ailing elf with a cure wand. Raoul looks a little better, but his color is still not quite right as his eyes start to bulge.
Aelfward moves up and drawing his longbow, shoots at the creature, but misses due to the crowd between him and his target.
Andrazi rushes forward, blade drawn and moves adjacent to the menace.

Jory takes aim again as both arrows hit the creature, piercing deep into the squirming flesh.
Kyra applies some minor healing to the injured wizard.
Aelfward drops his longbow, calls out a warning and slashes down hard on the creature. Cutting it, causing gore to spray out as the tentacles release the gasping elf and start twitching. Andrazi finishes the beast off with a well placed strike with his kukri.
