Imrizade watches her wand fly as it is knocked from her hand. She doesn't notice Andrezi casts his own color spray. The lights hit her and she suddenly stops moving. She's unable to get her bearing, but isn't knocked unconscious like Osbron was. Her wounds are healed up completely now.

Thran moves to Imeizade's other side and starts to cut the tentacles off her by hacking at them with his falchion

I am knocked out, but given that she is from this uber-rich family, should we try to take her alive. Maybe they will reward us for not stabbing her in the face?


Thran cuts through another tentacle. Imrizade screams in pain as it is detached.
Azar hits (its attached to a stunned, blinded person), but doesn't do a lot of damage.

@Osborn I agree, that's why I'm cutting the tentacles off instead of doing a coup-de-grace while she's stunned ;)


Coup-de-grace isn't possible with stunned and invisible alone. You need a helpless target. A helpless character is paralyzed, held, bound, sleeping, unconscious, or otherwise completely at an opponent's mercy. (like Osborn, but no you can't ...) She isn't helpless yet. I also forgot to roll for damage when you severed another tentacle.

Tent Damage: 1d3 ⇒ 2 She heals it back right away though.

Korvan hits her and deals some damage, with the help of Andrezi's enchantment.. She gets hurt, but despite that, she's not back to normal.

You are right, I meant it more as flavor of speech then the actual coup de grace.. I did consider just tying her up with some rope while stunned though..but severing tentacles seemed more....in style

Thran nods his thanks to Andrezi and hacks away with abandonment at another of the tentacles connecting Imrizade to the canister above the gate

I don't think we actually can..but seems like something we should in character try. At least after we've dealt with the current situation

Andrezi grunts. "We could, but he'll just be blind and disoriented for up to half a minute. Safer to leave him unconscious for now, won't be a threat to the enemy and is less likely to be targeted for that reason, unless she starts throwing area spells like my fire. Then we need to pull him out quick."

Snores begin to emanate from Osborn's small form. They sound louder than seems possible from someone that small.

Thran glances over his shoulder and listens to Andrezi's explanation

" ..you mean..that's what he sounds like when he's sound asleep? That's kind of..disturbing. But a problem for a later day, let's focus on the problem at hand" Thran grunts as he hefts his falchion once more, getting ready to continue to chop and cut.


Thran and Azar each cut a tentacle, leaving a single tentacle remaining. Korvan hits the sorceress herself, cutting deep. You notice she's not recovering as fast from her wounds as before.

Dam from Tents: 2d3 ⇒ (1, 2) = 3

As Korvan cuts her, her eyes flash open and she seems to be able to see again.

Meanwhile Osborn is dreaming about disarming a dangerous trap on a vault door. On the other side are mountains of gold and gems.

Andrezi thinks about his next course of action. Deciding the others have everything well in hand he proceeds over to the brain in a jar and begins poking and prodding it, seeing if he can move the jar around.


The jar is on top of the arch. Its 15 ft high. You'll need a reach weapon or to climb (DC10) to get there.

Thran hits the tentacle. Severing Imrizade from the arc. The shock from the release goes through her and she falls to the ground. Probably Dying.

The sound of battle is over. You've defeated Imrizade without killing her and now you're stuck with the strange cylinder containing a brain. You have the feeling that it moves, but always when you're not looking at it.
Osborn wakes up, he didn't get into the vault in his dreams. He's not happy about that.

You hear a voice speaking in your head, you realize its someone external doing the talking. You don't feel particularly compelled to follow it, but others might. The cylinder is made of metal, and has hardness 10 (as shown in the roll for falling damage above.

Will <10:
You think it might be a good idea to actually leave the braininavat here. Maybe you can propose to stay here and study it? And after you've done studying it you should inform the society? This compulsion is not strong enough to become angry or violent at the moment.

Andrezi gives the cylinder a once over. "You know, it is interesting that someone was able to preserve a brain in this fashion. My worry is that something about this place is keeping it preserved. We should probably keep it here, tell the Society about it obviously, and gather more people to investigate the chamber and the cylinder."
