For those who wish to discuss things about the story, adventure, or their characters. Do note that most other races besides Humes were likely brought from another timezone/place. If not the current generation of your character, than perhaps your character's ancestors. Moogles are thought to be extinct by the Humes and haven't been seen in a long while, but their technology lingers in some places (like Goland Coal City).
If there's anything I've missed, let me know. I'm a busy man still, so I overlook a lot, because I don't feel like I need to roll perception all the time.

Checking in.
Is anyone interested in linking backgrounds?
| Athwin Kaladi |
Athwin is a Moogle from the Tactics Advance Ivalice [He's from Goug to be exact] though he learned to make machines from his time with his family his real interest lies in monsters and he spends his time wandering to study them, he has a special interest in dragons due to the fact that while they sometimes interact with mortals [for want of a better word] the reasons are often if not always unclear.

Ooh, look at you two! You're from the same Ivalice...have any cool clan names? Maybe you were part of the same clan or different clan or enemy clan or allied clan? And those pesky laws! Maybe you loved them and had your favorite judge. Maybe you hated them and only abused them to get others sent to jail like a prick. Maybe you were an anti-law card user, which was super illegal. Maybe you want to return to your clanmates and your hawt Viera waifu.

Hmm.. "Brightwell" seems like a good clan name.
While Joao may have battled a few times for the enjoyment of it, he found more fortune in the betting pools and gambling games that came before and after. Recently, he earned a several-match ban from a particularly harsh judge for getting caught planting an outlawed item onto a member of an opposing clan during their match. So he decided to sit the season out.

Lifah can be from the original FFT Ivalice easily enough. The others are from FFTA, which has some funky things going on in its cannon. They're a high-fantasy realm inside a children's book. You can easily be a noble from Fovoham, under the royal rule of the crown. In the last war, the Grand Duke Barrington, the liege lord of Fovoham, was killed. This created an empty space and many royal families wanted it (much like the same event that sparked the last war).
Except Fovoham has the Khamja. And the Khamja kills but won't fight openly. And the Khamja is hungry for power, so many noble families that showed an interest for the Dukedom were eradicated, including Lifah's. Once in power, the Khamja disbanded to cease being labeled as a group that could be targeted as such.

Athwin isn't a member of a clan though he may have had some dealings with a few, he does know a few scholars and thinks the judge's power to prevent death is great.
I've added his appearance to his profile and I'm gonna buy a few more things if that's alright [A dagger, some writing equipment and maybe another Power Staff to be exact]

I've been thinking of a way to speed up combat. I think there should be some options here, so I'll lay them out. One is a fast combat, where we post two rounds of combat, with details and actions and such.
Like:
Lifah charges the nearest foe.
Lifah full attacks the most injured foe. If all targets are injured, she uses her Ashura.
As the DM, I will also be posting two rounds. This is, of course, more dangerous than going 1 round at a time, but it's not the super fast version. That includes 3 rounds, where your choices will either make or break you and the entire combat.
I'd like some opinions on the matter. Combat on the forums can take forever and I'd like to be able to speed it up somehow.

I've never seen it done that way so I don't have a lot of input.

Just a heads up: I am at PAX until the 4th so I'll make my post after then.

Ok so what do you want me to roll or should I just post as if we are not about to enter structured time?

I hop between the two at will, so I believe you can write in whatever tense you want. As long as I can read it.
Also, even from my first combat post, I feel like it's going to be a lot of fun. The idea that you don't know what the enemy is going to do is much more exciting, like the combat in Song of Swords.

What's the deal with the bomb? Is it blowing up if we do kill it, or if we don't?
