The boy leads you to his home, first stopping in the center of town to recrate Applesauce. You see about 6 more "pets" kept in similar fashion. He then takes you to his home. It is a simple farmhouse just north of the center of town. His father comes out to scold the boy for getting dirty and being out so long and then he notices you four standing there.
Oh I see you have brought friends... he says to the boy, his eyes narrowing at all of you. ...Who are you and what do you want?
Alric Stiner |
...Who are you and what do you want?
Alric walks towards the man with his hands swinging casually at his side. Wearing a warm/calming smile he says (Still in the slight drawl):
"Why Hello, would you happen to be the Mayor of this fine village?"
Assuming he says yes
"Marvelous, you see, my companions and I have come a very long way to speak with you about a matter concerning your village."
Diplomacy: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (12) + 8 = 20
Alric Stiner |
Actually he isn't the mayor he's just a simple farmer
Curses, still, 20 diplomacy I guess.
When he answers in the negative to my question reguarding the mayor I say the following:
"Well then my good man, could you please point me in his direction? We're here to speak to the mayor on a matter of grave importance regarding the town"
DM Mathpro |
The man stands there stonefaced and silent. He looks at the four of you(has anyone seen Fisnis lately?) with a look of slight distrust and annoyance. As Eve addresses him his face soften a little.
We don't get many outsiders here, the swamps tend to keep 'em out. But we did get someone in town a few weeks ago. Strange looking feller, but he left a few nights ago. If you want I can take you to the mayors office. In fact I think it would be best since, as I said, we don't get many visitors and you won't get very far with out me there.
DM Mathpro |
The man excuses himself for a moment and then goes inside to tell his wife he will be stepping out. You hear a little bit of shouting from inside the house but eventually he reemerges and waves you on.
Its this way he says as he starts to move down the walk. You said you were looking for someone right? Did he have red hair? Because if that's who your looking for he was in town several weeks ago, during the Founders' Festival last month. He didn't seem to mix much with the locals and spent most of his time talking with the mayor. I always assumed he got what he wanted from the mayor and just left but since you are here maybe that isn't true...may I ask what this young man came to Ravenmoor for and if there is anything else you are doing hear other than looking for him?
DM Mathpro |
Sorry about not updating lately. Dad's been in the hospital
[b]I heard that he left town the next day and I also heard that he wasn't headed back to Magnimar but that he headed up to Riddleport. I also think he got what ever he was looking for before he left so it seems strange that he didn't go home and that you guys are now looking for him. Oh I should let you know my name's Viorec, Vorec Korzha.
If anyone has questions for this man
confides that he heard a rumor that Kyle skipped town
with the taxes and was headed up to Riddleport, not back
to Magnimar.

" A plausible story. The greed of humans is know far and wide." Corrmesa thinks to himself.
"Maybe we should stay the night and leave in the morning." the elf suggests out loud.
"But first a little checking up on your story to be sure we aren't be sent on a wild hawk chase." he thinks with a forced smile.
Roll a Bluff (+1) for the elf if you think it is needed.

Viorec shrugs, pointing out unhelpfully, “There ain’t no inn in town, but there’s a-plenty of land out there to pitch camp in.” If made friendly, he’ll suggest talking to the mayor about staying in his manor—it’s the largest building in town, after all. If Viorec is made helpful, he’ll offer his own home for one PC, but points out he doesn’t have room for more than one guest. The PCs might be better advised to seek lodging in the mayor’s manor if they don’t want to split up over the night.
I feel it necessary to point out that we have no inn's in town, but there's plenty of land out there to pitch a camp in, just make sure to stay clear of the swamps...swamp gas can give a person a mighty headache not to mention what the wild stirges might do to you in your sleep. Also you might be able to convince the mayor to let you stay in his manor. He then pauses a little bit and seems deep in thought On second thought I guess you can stay in the barn at my place...its safer then out in the swamps though I'll have to ask my wife to be sure. She gets a little hot headed sometimes.
Its about this time that you reach the mayors office. Viorec bids you farewell for now, letting you know he'll be back on the farm if you decide to stay with him.
As you approach the door a large man comes around the corner. He is clutching a scithe in one hand and the other hand is balled into a fist.
If you're here to see my brother, I suggest you just turn around right now. We don't like uninvited visitors here and before you ask, if you don't turn from here I will deal with you my self.
Go ahead and make me sense movtive checks and diplomacy checks if you want to try and talk with him. Otherwise intimidate might work though you're really not sure...he's rather large and looks like it would hurt if the intimidate fails.
Fisnis |
Fisnis laughs at the man before saying "And I suggest you learn your place and put your weapon away before I have to deal with you." as he speaks his voice is hard and cold.
Sense Motive:1d20 + 10 ⇒ (1) + 10 = 11
Intimidate:1d20 + 10 ⇒ (10) + 10 = 20
Sorry guys but he did just threaten a follower of Gorum with a weapon out. I back down I loss some favor.
DM Mathpro |
The man refuses to move and gets ready to do battle. Just as Fisnis and him are about to come to blows a man comes running out of the building. He gets between Fisnis and the man with the scythe. Now Leonard how many times do I have to tell you that I welcome visitors.... He says trying to get the large man to back off. The large man seems set on attacking for a little while longer before he sighs and walks off mumbling to himself. The man that stopped the fight then turns around and faces the group. This man is tall with a lean frame and a very thick beard.
Please excuse my younger brother, he has been extremely protective of me lately, though I'm not exactly sure why. He then narrows his eyes and looks at the group. Hmm you're new to Ravenmoor aren't you. Well I want to welcome you to town but I'm a little busy. If you're not busy you should come by the festival tonight.
Corrmesa Valingesh |
Corrmesa didn't flinch during the stare down with Leonard, he almost smiled at the possibility of a fight.
He drops his folded arms as the man he thinks is the mayor talks to the others. "Well we came at the right time. We can enjoy this festival and then camp before setting off in the morning." he says to no one in particular.
DM Mathpro |
Splended. You can follow me there now if you wish. I have to help with a few last minute things before we get underway tonight. There is the festival and then later we have our monthly founders feast to celebrate the founding of our great town. Feel free to enjoy both and if anyone gives you problems just tell you your a guest of Mayor Andretti Kriegler. What are your names if you don't mind me asking?
DM Mathpro |
Pleased to meet you all he says as he starts leading you to where the festival is being lead. Tonights festival is one of the few times that the people of Ravenmoor can forget about the hard lives they live out here. We're a struggling city just trying to eek out a living but, as I'm sure you noticed, it can be difficult with the swamps that surround us. We hold this festival once a month to try and bring a little happiness into the hard lives of the citizens. He then pauses a little bit as if in deep thought So what brings you to Ravenmoor? We don't get many visitors and I hope the locals haven't been to...unfriendly.
