Since no one else checked, before we moved on, Marisan will have taken 20 to rummage through the nest of the creature we killed (Perception 20+3 = 23).

Ooc: noted, and you do find stuff....but I don't have the module with me so :P

Marisan brushes herself off after going through the creature's collected items. "Well, that's one trade agreement to add to those we think we found in the other room. Let's divide up the other things before moving on. I have a flask of holy water already, and can provide some healing, so these might be better off with the rest of you?"
Then, near the fountain in the hallway...
Marisan examines the fountain with interest, but does not touch. "No katana here. Shall we keep going?"
Ooc in total you have 13 trade agreements now. Also, for future knowledge...I'm rarely so nice when it comes to knowing what potions, scrolls or magic items are without an identify spell being cost, so don't be supervised if later oon you find more potions but have no clue what they are :)

"Which direction did the ghoul head off in?" Fedryn asks, his grip on his greataxe tightening. "She's shown her true colours by running off before that fight."
Fedryn wipes the gore from his greataxe while he waits for a response.

I think we were heading north? Unless Jubei felt the presence of evil to the west instead. During the hour delay, Marisan used her whetstone to restore the sharpness of her trident
Ooc - Jubei has lost the faint trace while you waited out the blindness in the scribes room. Poor Maurit is waiting wondering why you all didn't try to keep up with her....

While blind, Harboth hears the scraping of blades being sharpened.
ooh, that seems like a good idea. Better not, though -- don't want to get too close to a cold iron blade when I can't see anything...
He has not been able to do much damage in here, and his wild earlier swing narrowly missed hitting the wall, so there would not be much sharpening to do in any case.
If I remember correctly, she headed off to the north. Is that right?
The doorway to the north is a little stuck, but it opens with a good shove from Harboth. Rubbish and black mold chock the far end of the chamber. The slighest movement kicks up dust and spores, choking the stagnant and already foul-smelling air. The only exit from this room is the door you have just opened.
ooc: the dust/mold is not enough to sicken anyone, but it does stink in here.
Normally I'd say not after you've already rolled, but sure, why not. You spot three fire beetles sleeping in a rubbish nest. Your not sure what might be under them, I'd anything.

As Elwyn is about to sneak up on the beetles, Marisan taps him on the shoulder, her holy symbol clutched in her other hand. "This may help you put them out of their misery."
Cast vigor, +1 to first melee damage roll within 1 minute
Rooting thru the small pile of rubbish once the three slowly dieting creatures are dead reveals a small treasure trove of things. A tube contains what you assume is more trade agreements, a large sack of silver and a very intricate set of bronze bracers all laying under the heap that was the dire beetle nest.

"Every minute we spend here is another minute that creature gets to hide itself away. We need to find it and put it down," Fedryn says angrily, running his thumb across the edge of his newly honed axe to test its sharpness.
"It had a chance to aid us, and even to return during the hour we've sat here and yet it skulks in the shadows. We find it, we kill it and then we locate this katana."

Jubei's jaw drops as he hears this. He gets flashbacks.

That all looks like useful stuff.
Harboth notices Jubei's dumbfounded look. So should we go ahead and find Zergo, take her out, then figure out where that katana is?
Without waiting for a response, he then sets off in whatever direction seemed like forward before. That would either be through this room to the next one, or back into the hallway and in the direction we were going before - west?

Glancing at Fedryn, "I'm more inclined to agree with you by the minute. She must do something substantial to warrant further favor. Let's be off and find that sword."
Leaving the small mold infested room for the Hydra headed hallway you are faced with the choice of returning to the room of the now dead blinding creature or going down the hall.
Heading down the hall you quickly come to a large room, it appears to have once been the base of a now collapsed tower. the floor is littered with refuse and waste, as well as meals log gone to bone. There are several exits from this room, including one to the outside world, which is probably where unknown critters, for unknown years have come from to make lair, and leave cast off meals for years.
As the lot of you enter this debris strewn room a skeleton stands from under a pile of old bones and cast offs. Lumbering toward harboth as quickly as it can. At roughly the same time Maurit(sp?) rushes at Marisan, all light of humanity gone from her eyes.
Ooc: I'll do my combat rolls when I get home tonight. Have fun killing my creatures guys.

Why me? Oh, yeah... touché ;)
Marisan swears something in Polyglot as the creature she has been defending jumps her.
Initiative: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (4) + 2 = 6
This looks like a charge from Maurit, so if she doesn't reach me before my turn, Marisan will grab her trident with both hands and ready her trident against the charge:
attack: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (15) + 2 = 17 damage: 2d8 + 6 ⇒ (7, 1) + 6 = 14 (double damage from trident when bracing against a charge, and I forgot my +1 to damage from the whetstone, which would also be doubled, so that would actually be 16 points total)
If Maurit does reach her before her turn, Marisan instead grabs her holy symbol and releases a wave of positive energy...
Damage: 1d6 ⇒ 5 to undead within 30 feet, DC 11 Will save to halve
So, here's the deal. I'm a brand new player to PFS, signed up to do some sessions at GenCon, picked up the Core Rules....liked it, Picked up the Field guide and Bestiary, like those too.....Problem is I haven't found people to get a game going locally, so here I am online looking for some players to run a game for.
So, what I'm looking for: I'd prefer to have new players first, I'd like to not look like a complete fool fumbling around for rules in front of you guys out there that have been playing for quite a while :)
So, if your interested, I'd love to run a game for you new players like myself.
Rules I can run are from the COre book and the Field guide...Sorry, I don't have the other books yet, so I can't really go with whats in those.
If your not sure how to roll up a character you can always use the Pre-Gens and then apply the rewards you get with those pre-gens to your first real character that you plan to play with going forward.
Any questions, feel free to send me a message and I'll do my best to answer!
Just judging from the activity on the recruitment boards, I'm sure you will have plenty of interest.
I'm also new to PFS - and PBP, for that matter, so your fumbling should not bother me ;) - and would love to jump in. I have lurked at a few PBP games, so hopefully I will be minimally competent at least.
As for character generation, I would humbly suggest using the Pathfinder Society character generation rules, since those provide some standard guidelines (available for free!) designed for PFS play.

I agree, sorry I didn't post it earlier. the PFS Character Generation Rules guide book is a great guide for anyone who wants to make thier first character.
Blackacre, Hannya Shou and BudFox, if you three are interested it looks like we should only need one more player, though I'm willing to take on up to three more players if they want to join.
If we can get at least one more player I expect we'll be able to start fairly soon, Once you have your characters rolled up and posted to your profile go ahead and introduce them in the Game play thread and after that I'll get the ball rolling.
The length of the game will depend on how many posts we get a day, I'd lke to get at least one post out of everyone a day. If its not possible for you to post for some reason try to let me know, I'll NPC you if we're in a fight, if not I'll just assume your standing quietly and listening.
I will probably check posts several times a day, first thing in the morning (for me), maybe over lunch at work, when I get home and probably before going to bed, so there is a good chance we could have several posts a day and advance fairly quickly (for a PbP anyway).
Looking forward to hearing from everyone and getting the game rolling...it'll be good to get some of the rust off and begin to DM again!
I am interested in playing. Never played a PFS and been really wanting to try it out. I will look over the Field guide and generate a sample character concept
Excellent. I'm working on a dwarf skill monkey rogue (I recognize that elf has the more optimal race characteristics, but I can't stop swimming upstream), and will post as the alias as soon as I can get it together, probably before the weekend.

Hmmm ... I was thinking of something similar, but I could do a Ranger (maybe Urban ranger archer specialization?). I'll see if I can post them both. Either one works for me.

Fair enough. Maybe I will post an alternative as well, in case your Rogue is better than mine :) or we have other party needs. I have this aberrant sorcerer I've been pondering...
just so we are on the same page, will this be an official PFS game?
If so I am interested in this i have a level 1 paladin ready to go.
I have played a lot of Pathfinder and some play by post but i have not had the chance to play any organized play.
I'm thinking its an offical game, not sure how I'll get your sheets out to everyone....email I'm guessing, but yes, I plan for your level 1 characters to get credit for this adventure, once you finish these three intro sessions you'll be able to walk into a new game as a level 2 character.
Here is my rapier wielding skill monkey rogue (from BudFox). Need to tweak the equipment a bit and refine for a few things but it is mostly there.
Go ahead and introduce yourself in the Gameplay thread, that will set you as a player in the game (unless there is a way that I can set that, but I haven't found it yet).
Once we have at least 3 more players setup and ready to roll I'll begin!

Yeah I'm in. (Hannya Shou By the way, using his half-elf cousin).
My Stats are on my profile. I'll type up later what the Samurai Archetype Sword Saint does.
I hope your still accepting applications, i have a Sorcerer here I would like to submit. built for PFS play for another campaign that never actually got started.

I'm still accepting, go ahead and enter your character on your profile and post in the Campaign thread, that will get you added as a player.
I believe that you will be either our 4th or 5th player once you get joined in. If thats the case I'll post the intro over the weekend and we'll get this ball rolling.
And that makes 6. For those of you who haven't posted in the Gameplay thread yet, please do so so I can get your characters into the game. I'll go over all of the character sheets to the best of my ability sometime today...if you don't have your character sheet up please try to get it up and running soonish (I know we're all busy people, so when you have a moment....we probably won't get into any combat or major skill rolls for a few days yet, but just to keep everything on the up and up it'd be good to have them).
For those of you unfamiliar with PFS play as opposed to a normal home game there are some differences in how a character is built, and what feats you can take. For a quick overview please see the Guide to Organized Play: http://paizo.com/pathfinderSociety/v5748btpy84k4 it's a free download and will walk you through setting up your character.
Some basics:
PFS uses a 20 point buy system for stats
No Item Creation Feats are used
You start with 150 gold
Some basics for how I play....I'm in no way a rules lawyer, but one thing I will check is that all characters follow basic PFS rules - with this being a living game the rules are there to keep all of us roughly equal, and it makes the game better for everyone.
I would like everyone to try to post once a day, if you know your not going to be able to in advance just let me know and I'll zombie you through as a GM NPC for a few posts to keep things moving.
Hope everyone has some fun with this, hopefully we can get this wrapped up by GenCon. :)
At this point I'm not ready to take on another couple of players, but when we move to Intro 2 I would be. Down side of that, you don't get to meet 5 of the Factions. If you guys are interested I'd go in order of posting....
Elandor would get first dibs, Baral next and Agratep last. I expect it to be at least 2 weeks before we get to that scenario however.
Agratep: I'm pretty new as well, but heres how it works.
You get 1xp for each session, by doing all three intro sessions you get to be level 2 (3xp) at the end of them, and you get introduced to all 10 factions (you join 1 of them).
So, you'll end up getting xp for 2 sessions if you join for 2 and 3, but not the crucial 1st session xp for advancing to second level.
Ok Guys, we're about 2 weeks out I'm guessing from starting the next scenario. If your characters aren't already finished go ahead and get them polished up....I'd recommend a healer of some sort, the team currently is short one, and they are regretting it.
So, it seems I made a mistake when I created the game...I don't seem to be able to start a new thread under the same game....What's that mean to us? We continue playing under the first game and just move on from there... No big deal, but we're on Intro Session 2 now, not 1 like it says :)
Wanted: Two Characters, Players new to PFS heavily preferred. Ideally one would be a healer of some sort....not that I'm planning to put your shiney new character into a situation where it would require healing, I would never do that to you guys! This is a Play by Post game.

Where we are in the games:
Completed: In Service to Lore
Just Starting: To Delve the Dungeon Deep
Upcoming: A Vision of Betrayal.
A note about my games...I tend to run them quickly, I like at least one post a day, but understand that we all have lives outside of games. Just let me know you won't be around and I will NPC you until you get back (In the case of combat I'll have one of the other players roll for you....I tend to roll very low for some reason...).
My goal is to have these last two scenario's completed by GenCon (August 16th). This will give anyone who has completed 3 scenarios a Level 2 Character.
I'd like to throw up Fedryn, a Ranger looking to become a Hellknight as well as a Pathfinder. He's actually a character I intend to use for Pathfinder Online but I'm going to use some Society games to find my feet with him.
