Elwyn Cintras
|
Elwyn tries to make out whether any of the scrolls are Qadiran and whether any might look like agreements of some type, perhaps trade agreements.
Knowledge(local): 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (4) + 6 = 10
He reacts to Rachel's alert and tries to make out anything ...
... what light through yonder ... sorry
Perception: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (7) + 8 = 15
Must be saving my rolls for battle.
Marisan
|
"I can discern the true nature of these scrolls... tomorrow, with some divine aid." She turns as Rachel mentions the light to the east. "Should we leave these be for the moment and continue searching for the katana, starting with that room?"
| FauxPas75 |
1d20 + 2 ⇒ (14) + 2 = 16 initiative (just getting this out the way now....). Btw, this will be my init check for the rest of the adventure.
When making your attack rolls I'd like everyone to giveme their damage rolls at the same time to save time.
The light from the other room isn't enough to see much, more of a phosperant glow. It does not seem to be getting brighter or dimming, just a constant faint glow.
Harboth Redacre
|
We may want to check out that weird light. If the rest of you want to stay here with the lights and the scrolls, I can go have a look.
Harboth never was much for reading.
Elwyn Cintras

"I think we should stick together, we can always come back to these later. Besides we already know one ghoul is lurking around somewhere, who knows what else is in here."
GM: without having to mention it at every turn, Elwyn will be in stealth mode, using hie preception to be aware of things the party should be investigating, potential threats, etc. He will always have his rapier in hand unless I give direction to switch to the short bow. In the interest of keeping things moving I can make a number of rolls in advance if you like, otherwise, I'm ok with you rolling for me as necessary, or at your direction, should there be a oppotunity/threat come up.
Harboth Redacre

Harboth picks his way slowly toward the light, axe in hand, tasting the air for anything unsavory.
Stealth: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (19) + 6 = 25
Perception: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (3) + 8 = 11

This large room looks like it was once a scribing chamber. The remains of many desks are scattered about, and amid the rubble is a number of long-dried inkwells, other writing utensils, and scraps of paper. These things are covered with black mold and patches of light green mushrooms.
Ooc: I'd like a dc 13 fort check from everyone as they enter this room please. Tactics room is 15 by 30. Door you came in and one all the way down the other end on the north wall
Fedryn Mannorac
|
Fort save: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (12) + 4 = 16
Perception 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (14) + 1 = 15
Fedryn covers his mouth as he spots the mold. He then casts his gaze around to see if he can spot anything of interest.
| FauxPas75 |
Main group sees: After coming into the room and taking a moment to look around you see a small mound in the far corner, the light source appears to come from here. This is soon confirmed as a hideous little monster with glowing eyes rushes out of the nest and charges the closest of you.
Blinded group sees: nothing, you are in shock and can't attack for 1d2 rounds please.
Init checks please, and fort saves(after your attack/damage if you beat my init) every round your in this room, the Blindheim is going full bore eat or die mode on you guys.
Monster init: 16
Battle order ?
Harboth, Jubei, Elwyn
Marisan, Rachel, Fedryn?
Monster is 20 feet in front of Harboth, small sized and ugly with glowing eyes.
Monster attack 1d3 ⇒ 1 : Harboth (assuming it lives past your groups init/attacks.
Bite: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (13) + 5 = 18 damage:1d4 + 1 ⇒ (1) + 1 = 2
Claw: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (20) + 5 = 25 , crit?: 1d20 ⇒ 10, damage:1d3 + 1 ⇒ (2) + 1 = 3
Fedryn Mannorac
|
Initiative: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (15) + 1 = 16
Fedryn waits for a chance to strike at the creature, moving up to the front line if any of the others back off.
Greataxe, PA: 1d20 + 4 - 1 ⇒ (19) + 4 - 1 = 22
Damage, PA: 1d12 + 4 ⇒ (12) + 4 = 16
Elwyn Cintras

Confusion and shock deadens Elwyn’s awareness of the world. He is not used to such dulled senses and will later reflect that he is thankful for how keen they usually are. For the moment this is torture.
Duration of disability 1d2 ⇒ 2
Init: though I don’t know it matters 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (13) + 6 = 19
And my following round Fort save: 1d20 + 0 ⇒ (3) + 0 = 3
Get me out of here!
| FauxPas75 |
Ooc: Elwyn and Fedryn swap places....Marisan, you don't need to wait for your round to attack...I'll sort everything out in my head and apply damage to the beast/confirm damage to players at the end of the round. Also, once your blind the fort check is not necessary.
Marisan
|
Because she's probably going to be last in the initiative order, what Marisan does depends on how the creature is looking. If it appears only slightly (or not at all) hurt, she will cast bless on the party.
If it appears worse off, she will attempt to flank it and attack with her trident:
attack 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (20) + 1 = 21 (add additional +2 if she is able to flank it), confirm crit 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (3) + 1 = 4
damage 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (1) + 1 = 2.
And finally, Fort save: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (9) + 4 = 13
Harboth Redacre
|
initiative: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (1) + 2 = 3
fort save: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (11) + 3 = 14
Harboth gapes at this odd-looking creature for a moment, nearly drooling on himself before the beast's claws and fangs sink into him, snapping him back into focus. Harboth raises his axe, snarls something in Orcish that can only be an obscenity, and hacks at the beast.
attack: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (1) + 5 = 6
damage: 1d12 + 6 ⇒ (8) + 6 = 14
Looks like I inherited our GM's combat dice. Sweet.
Harboth Redacre
|
Fort save: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (6) + 3 = 9
Grok ta'fnakgraulgh! What happened!? I can't see anything!
blinded in the fight, rolling dice like a douche another ranger in the dark...
Harboth Redacre
|
I assume a second roll was needed - one before combat and one in round 1, but I'm happy to not be stumbling around in the dark like some hum- well, you know what I mean.
| FauxPas75 |
Ooc:
Jubei, your just showing off now :p
Harboths roll was for the combat round. First roll from everyone was for walking into the light. And marisan's attack was actually the killing blow, sorry about that. But it still doesn't fix two of you wandering around in the dark now :)
You can attempt to go back outside to see if you can heal everyone, or you can wait to see if it goes away on its own, or leave the dead weight and press on!
/ooc
Elwyn Cintras
|
I assume it will go away on its own, not sure how long though or what the cure might be. Not sure where a secure place to wait or hide is. We don't want to run into a party of Kobolds with a third of our team compromised.
| FauxPas75 |
OOC; I'm bummed I can't 'like' a post, cause that would get one Jubei! It'll go away in an hour...of course, Razor should have gone out long before then too..that is only a 10 minute spell for Rachel. And don't forget, your friend Maruit is running around out there somewhere.
Marisan
|
And a vicious attack it was, too! (2 hp) :)
"Elwyn, Harboth, let's have a look at you," Marisan calls out to her blinded companions. "I'm not sure there's much I can do, but..."
Heal check: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (15) + 3 = 18
While she's examining them, she asks, "Does someone want to check that creature's nest for anything of value?"
Fedryn Mannorac
|
"I don't trust that foul beast, I'd wager she led us straight to this beast thinking it would kill us," Fedryn spits, kicking the corpse at their feet, "I vote we end her miserable life."
Marisan
|
Marisan shakes her head. "If she can be saved, we should try. Remember, she was an agent, before. I know I'd want such a chance." She pauses, then adds, "However, we should be wary, and if we catch her, perhaps she should be tied up... for everybody's protection."
| FauxPas75 |
Ooc: I'm going to assume you waited the hour. That said, your trail to the evil that is the ghoul is gone.
Heading down the small scribes room and out the northern door:
At the end of this corridor sits a sinister-looking fountain in a rounded alcove. A four-headed hydra, displayed in cross formation, protrudes from the middle of the rounded wall. The hydra’s heads all face directly down the hallway. Its top head’s mouth is firmly shut, its socketed eyes staring darkly down the corridor, and its head fin is flared and up. On that head fin, a single Kelish word is carved into the stone. The other three heads have toothy mouths open wide and reclined head fins; these obviously served as spouts for the fountain. Just below the mouths is a ceramic basin. The basin has been dry for many long
centuries now.
Harboth Redacre

Another cleaning device, perhaps? Some sort of cyclopean bidet?
Harboth again moves gingerly around the room, keeping his distance from the statue.
Perception for other items of interest, especially if it looks like treasure: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (12) + 8 = 20
