"S-S-Stop it!" Natalie speaks out, looking at the others. "Y-you're all acting irrationally...I-I mean..." she works up what very little courage and confidence she has left to speak. "J-Just because he's living here, and he's w-working with goblin, doesn't prove anything. Y-You're assuming g-guilt without e-evidence. N-Necromancy is n-not a crime on it's own. W-We're the invaders here - i-if anything, we are the criminals trespassing."
Assuming she get to say this before combat starts. Otherwise she'd jut cower a bit while the big men start hacking and slashing.

Hagnar Grimstone |

At the sound of raised voices and clanging steel, Hagnar's face lights up and he smiles a wicked grin. "At last, a conversation I understand!" he exclaims as he makes his way down the stairs and into the fray.
GM - Hagnar will move behind or past the party to enter the room when he can!

Zirrel Larenethdren |

Assuming I am reading the map correctly, it would appear that I am directly in front of the door and preventing the melee from starting. If that's correct,
Zirrel, holding back and edging away from the door to this point, hopes to take the goblins on either side of the door by surprise and dives into a roll between them to come up near their wizard leader. Three squares to the right, please.
Swift action to activate Arch Luck
Acrobatics to move through the threatened space: 1d20 + 7 + 1 ⇒ (14) + 7 + 1 = 22
If he survives to this point, the elf stands and draws his short sword, saying, "There is no need to be threatening, sir mage. Some of us would much rather discuss this rationally."
Zirrel is not trying to threaten him with the sword, but if Kelvin starts casting, Zirrel will try to disrupt the casting. He will save his AoO for that eventuality, if that question arises.

Zirrel Larenethdren |

I was posting based on the map and the initiative order that was provided. Zirrel's action is unchanged other than possibly rolling around Fergor to reach where he comes to a stop.

![]() |

Go ahead and roll for initiative even if you are currently stuck in the stairwell. Even if you just delay, at least you'll have a place in the order. Remember that you can always move through allies.

I will assume that my little gnome was following from behind.

As the tension grows in the air Reigar takes note of Natalie's urge to avoid conflict and the others' propensity to create it. He smacks the butt of his musket on the floor and clears his throat rather loudly to get attention. "Ahem! Men! Perhaps we should listen to our fair lady, she has impeccable logic, as I say again and again. This man may have not a thing to do with recent events, Jedale did inform us of the band of rogues out on the roads. However, sir, I beg your pardon. We would like you to accompany us, if not at least to speak with the head of the guard back at the keep to clear these misconceptions. Please, everyone, stay your blades for now. And my good host, I strongly insist you come willingly. Not only are these men quite eager to create more damage, but there are also a group of armed men from the keep on their way up the stairs to check on our safety. There is no need for this to be more than a small hiccup in establishing new agreements." The gnome completes his small speech with a polite bow and tip of his hat, along with a slight wink to his companions.
Trying to avoid conflict through bluffing, diplomacy, and spells. Going to use my ability of ghost-sound to make the sounds of clamoring armor and men running up the stairs. DC 13. Hopefully, my post could be time flexed to before everyone starts charging in to fight?

"Bugger this nonsense! Necromancers are evil. Goblins are evil. Like dogs with brain-rot, the only thing you can do is put 'em down soon as you can to stop the infection from spreadin'!" Reigar's spell creates the sound of armored men rushing up the stairs, but Kelvin appears unconvinced. When Zirrel tumbles into position, the goblins pause and the necromancer hesitates.
"Very well, it would appear that you have the upper hand. Would you kill an unarmed man?" He spreads his arms to show that he is, indeed, unarmed.

![]() |

"As I said, good sir, I personally see no need for harm to any people. Even if I do have a problem with goblins. We can devise a peaceful solution. Though, you'll need to convince my compatriots here that you mean no ill will and shall accompany us back without resistance." Reigar says with a wide arm sweep gesturing to everyone else. Then spins and flourishes his musket, but keeps it in his hands. Prepared. The gnome looks expectantly to the others. "We can make this work, right fellows? "

![]() |

Hasn't happened yet, Fergor. I went from the first to react (Reigar), to Zirrel, to the goblins, to the necromancer. I was wanting to see if anyone stayed their hand. If not, then I will pick it up from the next person in line.

Lucian Faucon |

Still intending to attack, just waiting for Natalie's action first.

Zirrel Larenethdren |

Zirrel cannot attack, but he's undecided. The actions of the rest will probably determine whether he carries through with an attack. If the wizard makes a move to cast, Zirrel will take as a threat and take the attack of opportunity.

Natalie Labelle |

Concentration check: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (8) + 4 = 12
Panicking a little because her allies seem to be ready to assault a unarmed man in his home, Natalie reacts perhaps a little badly, in that she points a hand at the most aggressive members of the party, ready to hit them all with her last spell if they move to attack.
Readying Color Spray (DC 14) on Fergor, Lucius and Lucian if they move. I really, really hope they don't, but Natalie is not going to let them attack if she can help it.

Lucuis |

If I get color sprayed and make the save, this party is going to shrink in size in a hurry.
Assuming the goblins are ready if I try to do something, I will attempt a tmble to get over there to grapple the wizard.
acrobatics: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (8) + 6 = 14
Not sure if that makes it. Likely it will trigger the spray.

"Gods damn it woman, who's side are you on?!?"
grapple: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (17) + 2 = 19 I assume since the wizard is unarmed I won't be provoking (of course he could have a trick up his sleeve)

Lucian Faucon |

Lucian tries to roll by the readied goblins to get at their master who had just declared that the party will die.
Acrobatics: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (7) + 3 = 10
Will Save (Color Spray): 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (8) + 2 = 10
Natalie better hope the goblins/necromancer kill Lucian, if not...

Lucian Faucon |

Since Lucian is likely dead if I do not, I will spend my hero point for a re-roll on the save.
Will Save (DC 14 - Color Spray): 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (20) + 2 = 22
Lucian nearly falls prey to Natalie's spell but recovers and continues toward the necromancer, holding his blade readied at the man's throat, while giving the young wizardess a look that would kill most others.
Readied standard action to strike should he even hint at an action other than coming along peacefully.

![]() |

Things degenerate quickly from there. Lucian rolls forward, past the surprised goblins, to come up with his blade at Kelvin's throat.
"Know that should you kill me," he says with a remarkable air of calm, "That there are others who would avenge me. I am not the best you will meet, merely the first."

![]() |

Lucuis tumbles into position and comes up beside Kelvin, grappling the wizard and placing him in a lock. Strangely, the wizard does not resist.
Fergor swings a backhand at the goblin next to him, but the attack clangs harmlessly off the goblin's plate armor.
I think I have everybody positioned correctly, now. Back to you, Reigar.

![]() |

Reigar watches as the event unfolds. After trying his hardest to keep everyone calm and peaceful, it all falls apart. Seeing his friends move against the necromancer, even if he is no real threat, confuses the gnome as to why such actions would be necessary if they could negotiate or trick Kelvin. Then when one of their "own" targets the rest of them with a spell, Reigar is left utterly fuddled as to who is his friend and who is not. Lacking any concept of human norms, social structure, or friendship leaves the little gnome with no foundation as to how to act. He quickly assesses the current situation as best as possible. Must take course of action that is mutually beneficial to the greatest number of my colleagues. Kelvin is a threat, neutralized by Lucius and Lucian. Goblins are disgusting, no immediate threat that Fergor or Hagnar cannot eliminate. Natalie...fiend?...ally?...threat?...enemy? Unable to form a solid conclusion Reigar reacts as a confused child and based on natural impulse. Seeing the female wizard cast a spell, that seemed bent on harming the others, forces the gunslinger to react in order to preserve himself and his friends. The young gnome grimaces and lets out a shriek of dismay as he turns and fires his small, yet powerful, musket at the woman.

Ooops! Really sorry about that, my mistake on the roll. Shall fix! No hard feelings on the attack, just simply playing my character as he should be.
Damage: 1d10 + 6 ⇒ (5) + 6 = 11

Natalie Labelle |

Again, should be 1d10+1, not +6. So that should be 6 damage, which wipes out all her Vigor points, but luckily doesn't take away any Wound points. Huzzah!
Natalie shrieks loudly as she'd suddenly shot at by the gnome, backing away from him swiftly. Remarkably, she'd barely avoided the bullet, which grazed her hip instead of lodging in her belly. "W-W-Why are you shooting me?!"

Zirrel Larenethdren |

Zirrel, very impressed with the swiftness of his new companions, looks up suddenly at the loud report and scream from the hallway. "What's going on out there?"
Deciding the dwarf will straighten out the two in the hall, he switches his short sword to his off-hand and 'draws' his whip, readying an action to trip either of Fergor's flankers if they attack him.

Hagnar Grimstone |

Exhausted: An exhausted character moves at half speed, cannot run or charge, and takes a –6 penalty to Strength and Dexterity.
Hagnar is exhausted. Two spells in a row and he had nothing left. Through his muddled senses he could barely keep up with all that was happening...his companions were attacking the necromancer and his goblin 'pets', Natalie cast some swirling color spell that missed the bad guys and accidentally hit the party, Reigar was shooting right behind him...was that a shriek from behind him? It was all too much to for his foggy brain to process. So Hagnar acts on instinct alone. Instinct forged by centuries of war and hatred. He tries to moves past Fergor and attack the goblin to the north.
Acrobatics: 1d20 - 9 ⇒ (2) - 9 = -7
Attack: 1d20 ⇒ 9 (-3 for exhaustion; +1 for hatred)
Damage?: 1d8 - 1 ⇒ (5) - 1 = 4

Lucian Faucon |

I will wait to post an action until after I see what the goblins and the necromancer do.

![]() |

The goblins, caught by surprise, react as might be expected. The goblin to the north of Fergor swings in retaliation. The attack hits surprisingly hard and almost gets past Fergor's armor. In the same instant, the goblin to the other side of him strikes and also scores a hit, but this attack is turned by the armor that Fergor wears.

Finally, the goblin in the hall moves to engage Lucian. The attack comes very close to taking off the ranger's ear (1 point of Vigor damage).
Goblin vs. Lucian: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (17) + 3 = 20
Damage (halberd): 1d8 ⇒ 4
Kelvin struggles against Lucuis, trying to free himself, but his efforts are in vain.
Kelvin vs. Lucuis: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (3) + 3 = 6
The party is up! As soon as Lucian replies, I'll update with everyone else's actions.

Lucian, seeing that Lucius has the necromancer well in hand, turns his attention to the goblin who had struck him, slicing at the vile, little beast with his blade.

Unsure of why my Dex Mod is not factored into damage, but okay?
"You attacked them first! How do I know you won't do that to me?! You were supposed to be a friend, but now you are helping this necromancer. I have to protect myself and these that I see as my friends! If you aren't one of them so be it!" Reigar yells back at Natalie while he furiously begins to reload his musket, keeping a scrutinizing eye in the direction of the woman.

Natalie Labelle |

You don't factor in Dexerity into your damage rolls until you reach 5th level with a musket master. It's pretty clear in the description.
"I-I..." Natalie whimpers, one hand placed to her hip. "I just want it to s-stop..." She says, looking around at all of the fighting. "W-We didn't have to...keep k-killing..."
She curls up on the floor, no longer moving for the moment, just trying to put out the sound of fighting for the moment.

Zirrel Larenethdren |

The goblin north of Fergor triggers Zirrel's readied action when he attacks.
Trip attempt with the whip: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (16) + 3 = 19
Regular action Hoping that little bit of aid is appreciated by the fighter, Zirrel turns to do as the monk said, looking for something usable as a rope and a gag in the room.
Perception: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (4) + 6 = 10
If he doesn't see something quickly, he kneels down as he shrugs out of his backpack to get to the rope within. Pretty sure I'm going to burn two move actions before I have rope in hand, though.

![]() |

Lucian turns and strikes the goblin that had attacked him, but the creature's plate armor deflects the blow. As the goblin north of Fergor launches its attack, Zirrel's whip lashes out and sweeps the creature off it's feet. Zirrel looks about the room, but sees nothing that might serve as a rope and gag.
Lucuis shifts to a more advantageous position, locking the necromancer in a hold and pinning him. Fergor swings at the goblin to the south of him, but the creature somehow manages to avoid the blow, despite its heavy armor. Seizing the advantage, Hagnar swings at the downed goblin and gains a solid hit, but the creature's armor takes the blow.

Feeling safe that his musket is now loaded and that Natalie is no longer a threat, the gnome turns to aid his fellow companions. Reigar quickly makes his way to Zirrel's side. After seeing Hangar's blow still not fell the goblin, the gnome takes aim at his easy target.
Attack: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (11) + 6 = 17
Damage: 1d10 + 2 ⇒ (8) + 2 = 10

Zirrel Larenethdren |

Zirrel takes the rope and trusses up the mage hand and foot. Hands first, then lay him on his belly and loop around his feet so his hands and feet are behind his back and he can't walk/crawl without getting loose.
Is there a check for that? Or is it just a CMB/CMD situation?

Lucuis |

Now that the wizard is taken care of, Lucius will move to help with the goblins. Though seeing as how many blows are rattling off their armor, he will just move to assist Fergor hoping that big sword can cut through the cans.

Reigar squeezes the trigger and a flash of fire explodes from the muzzle of the weapon. The goblin squeals in pain as the shot tears through armor and flesh. Zirrel quickly ties up the necromancer.
Securing him is simply an action, since he isn't resisting.
The northmost goblin scrambles unsteadily to its feet and hacks at Fergor, but the agile warrior easily evades the clumsy blow. It's companion also takes the opportunity to attack but it fails to get past Fergor's armor.
