Yasmin, it is all good. Glad you made it in to post.

Everyone: I'm not sure if I said this or just thought it, but I'm going to make an active effort to post an update every afternoon, though I might miss sometimes.

People not in yet: we are still recruiting. If anyone else would like to join, the more the merrier (at this point).

Ping.....

Ping....

Looking for one more player to round it out.

The game play thread is here if you are interested.

+1 to welcoming another player.

I'm thoroughly enjoying this so far -- I like trying out a world where the peak of human(oid) perfection is L6 -- and playing epic heroes in that context. Come and join the fun (or ask, if you have questions)!

Any chance there's room for one more player?

As far as I know, we're still recruiting, Tyeal! And I think I speak for all of us when I say that we're happy to help you get in on this.

Awesome!

Now I just have to figure out what ruleset do I have to go by when making a character. Because the only one I have any familiarity with is Pathfinder, and I've got a veritable crapload of Pathfinder characters made already.

Hey Tyeal, the current characters are Nikomedos, Yasmin, and Oneidros. You can read about us by clicking our profiles, and can read the adventure to date in the Gameplay tab.

Cranefist (the GM) spelled out character creation guidelines in the first few posts in this recruitment thread and you should certainly read them over, and then ask any questions. Basically make and propose a 6th level Pathfinder character that you think fits in and would be interesting to play in this setting. My impression is that any class in the http://www.d20pfsrd.com/ is at least worth proposing.

I'll say we currently don't have much spellcasting so if you have a character idea that's a caster, bonus (in my opinion) but really you should just think about a character you think would be a good fit and fun for you to run, and then post it here for Cranefist to review.

We'd be happy to help you brainstorm or flesh out ideas if you'd like.

Cheers,

Much obliged Oneidros, but I think I have an idea on my character and how to propose him.

And here he is! One Teralan Barlos, gifted in the arcane arts and a specialist of the magic school of Conjuration.

Spoiler:
"I had always suspected what my ancestry actually was. But I didn't wish to give up the good things I already had going for me. Family, friends, a home, an education. Your efforts to raise me, to make sure I did good and use my growing powers for the right reasons, will not be wasted. I will make you both proud of me, as I strike out into the world to find others like myself."

These were the last words Teralan Barlos said when his parents were laid to rest. He was still just a child in Elven years, but already he had far outlived his parents. That event took place almost 80 years ago. And here the Elf sat, in a bar in the city of Zathrum, reminiscing over a bottle of red wine.

He had been born to a Human couple. A mystery he still has yet to unravel to this day. At first, his parents, Darsus and Aria, thought he had been born deformed. What with his pointed ears, pale skin and unusually bring eyes the shade of violet, they feared for the worst. But, he grew quickly, faster than the other boys in his village of Heral.

When he came of age, and just as his parents were entering their twilight years, there was an incident in the village. Teralan had just been discovering he had a gift for magic. Moving things with his mind, calling forth brilliant lights and colors out of the palm of his hands. But one day, he decided to push his limits, and tried to call forth a fireball. TO help light the hearth and torches around the village.

It backfired horribly.

His whole arm caught fire, severely burning his entire arm up past his shoulder and just reaching his neck and rib cage before he finally dispelled the fire and tossed himself into a near-by river. The cool water did nothing to soothe the magic burns covering his entire right arm. Even now, as he regularly brought the glass of wine to his lips, he could feel the still-burned flesh flex and twist with his movements. It never healed properly, and any movement would bring a reminder of his foolishness.

Ever since then, he became a student of Magic, and had paid for his very first lesson. Next to nothing, compared to what happened to a rather cocky Human male when he was being taught Conjuration.

But, a story for another time. Draining his glass and setting his money down on the table, he adjusted the cloak and hood around his shoulders, checked himself for his book and scrolls, and strode out of the tavern, dubbed 'The River's Bend', and pulled his hood up. To keep his pale skin away from the searing sunlight, and in case the locals weren't too kind to Elves in their city.

Welcome Tyeal!

As the other two players have said: happy to help clarify if there are any questions.

Seeing your background I think you will manage just fine.

I am also looking forward to see how you will play your conjurer; I like the concept, but never got around to make one.

Tyeal, by the way, Cranefist was on a weekend trip with his wife and so may be busy catching up on things still, but there's no reason not to create an alias for Teralan Barlos, and write up your draft of his stats/feats/traits/spells/etc.

If Cranefist has questions/edits, he'll let you know...and if you find there are things about character creation for this campaign that aren't clear, post them here too.

Conjurer always sounded like great fun to play. Second only to Summoner in my book. A hint as to how I'll play him: Expect Oneidros to be that much harder to kill.

And I actually already have his character sheet written out, complete will his list of chosen spells, feats and whatnot. So I'll be posting that next time I'm at a computer.

Hey, Cranefist will comment when he's able/back but it looks like a fun character to me.

One note, you can start with up to 16,000 GPs worth of stuff, including magic items. Have fun shopping!

Hmm... I won't be able to get a whole lot, since armor of any kind impedes spellcasting. And I don't want to dress up as a Wizard, since that'll just draw unwanted attention to me.

EDIT: Yeah, nevermind. Found some good stuff to use ^^

Well, there are plenty of cloaks, boots, rings, rods, wands, staffs, etc. out there! Your call though.

Tyeal, your character looks great.

Remember that your CMB is a static number rather than a bonus.

Also, I'm confused about why you have a fourth and fifth level spell in your spell book.

Welcome aboard.

I have the 4th and 5th because of my Intelligence level.

http://paizo.com/pathfinderRPG/prd/gettingStarted.html

Scroll down to the table labeled 'Abilities and Spellcasters'. I get a free 4th and 5th level spell for my INT score.

Ahhh, you get an additional 4th and 5th level spell...but only when your class grants you one. It doesn't at 6th level.

You are correct. Stay on that page and scroll down to 'Intelligence'.

'A wizard gains bonus spells based on his Intelligence score.'

Base INT for my Wizard is 20. So that grants me up to having one 4th and one 5th level spell per day. Same applies for the bonus 0th-3rd level spells I get.

BTW Cranefist: Shall I just post in the Gameplay thread, then? Or should I wait for you to introduce my character in some way?

No, you only get extra spells of levels available to your class. Sorry, but having high intelligence doesn't automatically get you spells of levels you can't reach.

...

Well crap.

Tyeal, just get your spells and magic items squared away today. I'll plan to introduce you Thursday, god willing.

Make sure when you post in the game play thread, you do so under your characters name.

Noted. Already got my magic items squared away and equipped, and already edited my spells list on my character sheet. Along with having the alias of my character made.

That's cool.

I'll try to get an introductory post in tomorrow. I might not be able to get to it today. You probably won't be involved in this current battle, at least not right away, but that could change.
